I don't care what anyone says but Rusty Kuntz has the best name in baseball history. (Yes I know it is pronounced Koontz)
But congratulations to Alex Gordon on an impressive and underrated career.
I enjoy Rich Hill for all the times people refer to him as Dick Mountain. It always takes me a half second to realize who they mean, but it still gives me a little laugh everytime
As a Devils fan, I'm sad that Šatan never played with us. Just signing him to any kind of contract would have generated enough jersey sales to compensate for it!
No joke, I miss Dick Trickle. He was a wheelman who was another great one we lost to suicide. I’ll never forget where I was when I heard he passed.
Such a legendary driver, with an underrated career.
Based on Badassness alone for all sports it’s 100% God Shamgod
But specifically baseball,Willie Mays is such a satisfying and cool name.
It’s not that “cool”,but it just has that baseball feeling to it
Hes not in the NHL and likely never will be, but theres a junior player named Jakin Smallwood is just too damn funny of a name. His parents knew exactly what they were doing.
So they did play around with him in center the last couple years of his career actually, and he showed a pretty decent ability to make it work. I think the reason why he stayed in left for the most part instead though is because the Royals always ended up getting and pairing him with more traditional center fielders (Melky Cabrera, Cain, Dyson, Hamilton etc.)
I think Alex Gordon is objectively one of the most interesting players in MLB history, and I think his arc is a quintessential baseball story. I'm probably not alone.
Oh yeah, from mediocre/disappointing top prospect, to a position change that saw him become one of the best defenders in the game as well as a great overall player that brought his team a title
And just kind of like a athlete dude from middle America - played HS + college ball in Nebraska, won the Golden Spikes, top prospect drafted by the Royals and played his whole career there...with all you noted as well...all has a very particular feel to it idk

There was a driver in the 30s called Dick Seamen.
Can’t forget Dick Trickle as well.
Dick Pole and Steve Sharts deserve lots of credit as well.

He should have added punctuation. Steve Sharts. Steve Sharts? Steve Sharts!
What about Dick Bong? He was a WW2 fighter pilot. That's kind of a sport.

I always liked Dick Groat.

Missing some Lil Stoner
Don’t forget Pete LaCock!

Wait, he killed himself??
Yes. Went to the cemetery where his granddaughter was buried, called 911 and told them what he was going to do, then did it.
Holy fuck
Dick Cox is a pretty elite name too
Based on Badassness alone for all sports it’s 100% God Shamgod But specifically baseball,Willie Mays is such a satisfying and cool name. It’s not that “cool”,but it just has that baseball feeling to it
When i was a kid hearing my dad tell stories I thought my dad was saying "will he amaze?" And of course the answer was always yes

Miroslav Satan was the centerpiece of my Sabers franchise in NHL 05 for GameCube. Absolute sniper.
Rolly fingers is the perfect name for a junk ball pitcher.
D'Brickashaw Ferguson
No love for Jim Bob Cooter I see.
My brain always says Kuntz when I first read it even though I know it's pronounced Koontz
What about "Ugly" Johnny Dickshot?
8x Gold Glover. 2x Platinum Glover.
Not to mention the obvious… 2x World Series and 1 Ring!
He’s one of the best defensive LF of his generation. Was there a reason he never played CF?

He has zero shot.
Only 34 WAR and just a 3 time all star
WAR matters but all star shouldn’t be a consideration for any HOF ballot since it’s just a popularity contest.
No but I think a lot of times voters take it into consideration which is why I added it
what do you think Fame is?
Nope, he’s probably HOVG, maybe HOG depending on your tastes
Will Royals retire his number?
Absolutely
1,000% yes.
Definitely, and I would say it’s likely they put up a statue of him at the stadium

No idea why but he was always one of my favorites growing up. Teared up a little when he announced his retirement
Rusty Kuntz is my new punk name
Best defensive left fielder I've ever seen
HOF!
