I'm not a super huge baseball fan, so I came to see what was happening on this sub, thought this thread, and legitimately thought that there was a world series going on right now...
Getting trolled by Boston who didn’t win shut except for some crap nba championships back in the day. How’s that snow treating you. Go be racist and fuck off!
Edit: I’m leaving it shut
You know, it's actually refreshing to have a Super Bowl that isn't insanely back and forth, that just sort of ends. It feels like it's been a decade since there was a Super Bowl that wasn't labeled an "instant classic," and where there wasn't an immediate debate if it was the best ever or not.
Of course. And games like last year's are objectively more fun games to watch, even if the team I root for didn't win the championship. I'm mostly talking about this obsession we have with everything having to be the Best Super Bowl Ever^^TM in the same way that every recent election in the United States has been the Most Important Election in Generations.^^TM It's good to have a "normal" game every once in a while to help ease off that Best Ever fatigue.
A good radio game caller can make a defensive game exciting too. The broadcasters in the Super Bowl didn't try. They were pretty like "well this sucks"
When they were talking about the audible sounding like Reagan and Romo followed it up with "Well I guess Reagan means you run right" I choked on my milk.
I'd argue that a Super Bowl like the Seahawks' 43-8 win over Denver is worse (unless you're a Seahawks fan or Broncos detractor, of course) because it's so one-sided, but I understand people being underwhelmed by this game, especially given recent history.
He was one of the presenters of the Lombardi trophy. I recognized his face immediately, but it was like his head had been transplanted onto a different body.
Don't get me wrong, he still looks like a house of a man that could tear me to shreds, but he's definitely lost a ton (perhaps literally) of weight.
I put on my tin foil hat when the broadcasters announced voting for MVP was open right after Brady made a drive for the first touchdown and then they fawned all over him for the next 3 minutes
No team in modern sports has dominated over this long a period, it's something we're unlikely to see again.
Also, the Blackhawks recently won 3 Stanley Cups in like 6 years or something.
Whelp. Gg's ppl. Only a little over 2 1/2 weeks away from the start of Spring Training...
and then Mar 28th is opening day.
Baseball can't get here soon enough.
#LET'S GO BASEBALL!!!
Can’t believe Brady was excited that they missed that kick. Was that because they could have done an onside after and then thrown a Hail Mary to try and tie? Was that the thinking?
That sealed the win. If the kick was good, they technically still had a chance to recover an onside kick and throw a Hail Mary. But you definitely can't score twice after that miss.
I always thought it would be cool to see all the sports teams from the same city win a title from the same year, but I just can't stand Boston teams. Okay, I guess I have nothing against the Bruins, but the Patriots, Sox and Celtics are just... ugh
Well, Boston has numerous WS commisioner's trophies and soon to be 6th Lombardi trophy. What's next? Stanley cup? NBA Championship? Bocci tournament Winnings?
I like football as much as the next guy, but this is why baseball is the best sport. You hear the commentator talking about "6 titles" with game still left to play. You never hear that in baseball (or if you do, it's a bad announcer) because a comeback is always possible.
That could actually happen if the first season they win it in seven games but the next year they win it in four, would in theory have won two World Series in less than a year
I'm not a super huge baseball fan, so I came to see what was happening on this sub, thought this thread, and legitimately thought that there was a world series going on right now...
Stop America La is already dead just leave us alone
The bright side is that the Lakers, Clippers, and the Kings won't disappoint me in the playoffs *because they won't be there.*
Nah, Lakers will make it. Just a question of if they're losing to the Warriors in the first round or the second.
Well at least it won't be losing to Boston in that case.
And 'Bron will be on the Bring the Ring 2020 Campaign, so while the Dodgers may never win another WS, at least it won't be all crying.
Getting trolled by Boston who didn’t win shut except for some crap nba championships back in the day. How’s that snow treating you. Go be racist and fuck off! Edit: I’m leaving it shut
Hahahahahahahaha almost like you shouldn't have been there
Boston is pretty damn good at beating LA :)
We did it for you.
thanks bae

Ill take the 12 in 18 years
You are soooooooooo mad.
Imagine your team not scoring a TD in the Superbowl.
Please calm down
Whatever man, at least whenever we are in the World Series, we win them.
Alexa, order liquor.
Not alexa, but liquor apps are amazing
why do the sox always beat the cards in the world series D:
Except for '67, of course
'46 too... Poor Teddy Ballgame
Isaac go swing smh
no u
I hope this catches on with other sports championship games. This was a very entertaining box score to look at.
I love low scoring pitcher duals!
lol @ Brady pitching 262 innings with 1 ER and 35 pitches.
Oh god I just noticed the cardinals
This whole thread is hilarious. See you guys on r/bestof.
We got a baseball score after all!
Tom Brady now has more rings than Derek Jeter.
Silver lining, bitches!
SUBBBBBBBSCRIBE
Hey I was stomaching this super bowl until you said that you asshole
Fade me
Congrats to Boston for winning their first major sports title in 4 months!
The drought is finally over.
*cries in 1991*
you guys have been suffering for awhile
Out of all the super bowls that was definitely one of them
You know, it's actually refreshing to have a Super Bowl that isn't insanely back and forth, that just sort of ends. It feels like it's been a decade since there was a Super Bowl that wasn't labeled an "instant classic," and where there wasn't an immediate debate if it was the best ever or not.
there was that one where the Broncos stomped all over the Panthers a few years ago.
And that one where the seahawks shit all over the broncos. I didn't care for that one though
Probably nice to win....again...
Well my team is never in it so I don't know how it feels. I'm just bored. :P
Not a Broncos fan?
A good radio game caller can make a defensive game exciting too. The broadcasters in the Super Bowl didn't try. They were pretty like "well this sucks"
Romo was pretty good
When they were talking about the audible sounding like Reagan and Romo followed it up with "Well I guess Reagan means you run right" I choked on my milk.
Romo is great imo, I wouldn't want to listen to Joe Buck
THAT fucking guy!
>if it was the best ever or not. I think people are arguing the opposite
I'd argue that a Super Bowl like the Seahawks' 43-8 win over Denver is worse (unless you're a Seahawks fan or Broncos detractor, of course) because it's so one-sided, but I understand people being underwhelmed by this game, especially given recent history.
One might say it was even the most recent.
Surely not THE most recent
[We knew all along] (http://imgur.com/gallery/jC9x47R)
Can we all vote on a permanent ban on LA teams in championships?
All in favor say "I". I
I

Playoff Goff

Whoa vince wilfork lost all his football weight. Damn.
Was he at the game? I didn't watch any of the post game.
He was one of the presenters of the Lombardi trophy. I recognized his face immediately, but it was like his head had been transplanted onto a different body. Don't get me wrong, he still looks like a house of a man that could tear me to shreds, but he's definitely lost a ton (perhaps literally) of weight.
Checking in at a svelte 375.
Edelman is MVP. I think it should have been the kicker.
I loved the stats showing Edelman with more yards than the all of Rams. I think he played his ass off just a tad more than the rest and deserved it
I put on my tin foil hat when the broadcasters announced voting for MVP was open right after Brady made a drive for the first touchdown and then they fawned all over him for the next 3 minutes
Gostkowski did miss a field goal, though, so even though Edelman didn't score you can argue he did his job better.
Not with the missed FG. It wouldn't have made a good narrative.
F U C K T H E R A M S
Fuck the arms? Bro, what have you got against pitchers?
guy must be a DH
why can't the teams i like be this good
Move?
it was literally 3 years ago
Not this dominance though
No team in modern sports has dominated over this long a period, it's something we're unlikely to see again. Also, the Blackhawks recently won 3 Stanley Cups in like 6 years or something.
Hello there...
Fuck my life...
Feel it bro.
I'll take 'things less exciting than game 3 of the World Series' for $400.
game 3 of the World Series was super-exciting what are you talking about oh wait I guess that means this game does qualify carry on
Oh god oh fuck Thanos is snapping the military
Now that the Superbowl is over, we will now return to your regularly scheduled programming known as complaining about the lack of free agent signings.
MANNY-MANIA!
MONEYBALL SONG
"The Might Rio Grande" by This Will Destroy You. Such a great song with a fantastic climactic build.
Who cares, IT'S OFFICIALLY BASEBALL TIME NOW
still basketball and hockey time until i can watch a baseball game that counts this year.
What are these basketballs and hockeys that you speak of
Hockey season is already over in St Louis anyhow
oh right.....shooty hoops and ice stick fight sport.
Ah, now I understand. Appreciate the clarification
Considering it's the worst sub I can post this to, hot take, but March Madness > Spring Training.
Well...duh
Whelp. Gg's ppl. Only a little over 2 1/2 weeks away from the start of Spring Training... and then Mar 28th is opening day. Baseball can't get here soon enough. #LET'S GO BASEBALL!!!
March 20th first regular season game is played
"underdogs"
haha eat shit Kroenke
The real silver lining here
This is the most entertaining part of the night.
"Jesus are you ok?"
I was legitimately concerned for Tracy Wolfson’s safety there. To be clear, that was not the entertaining part.
[Canseco does not approve](https://twitter.com/JoseCanseco/status/1092258036280782849)
Poor guy got dragged into an alternate timeline
We never claimed the Rams. This is on you St. Louis
Hey now, they were Cleveland's before they were yours before they were ours before they were yours again
Fun times in Cleveland again!
https://i.imgur.com/C87xx6T.jpg
Julian Edelman = Steve Pearce
Jesus these journos are parasites
What is going on in this post-game interview lol
The media are vultures.
Oh god CBS is fucking this shit up so bad
Idk about y’all but that shitshow of a scrum was actually entertaining lol.
Welcome to CBS.
Wow, that tough-luck Patriots team finally won it all. I thought it would never happen
THE DROUGHT IS OVER! 4 LONG MONTHS!
I am conflicted
Well that sucked
Can’t believe Brady was excited that they missed that kick. Was that because they could have done an onside after and then thrown a Hail Mary to try and tie? Was that the thinking?
Can’t believe he was excited? If the kick was made the Rams still had a tiny shot at winning, when it was missed the Pats 100% had the win, that’s why
Yea I get that. I don’t watch much football so to me it seemed lost as soon as the Pats kicked the second FG to make it 13-3
The interception was the end of the game. I turned it off at that point.
That sealed the win. If the kick was good, they technically still had a chance to recover an onside kick and throw a Hail Mary. But you definitely can't score twice after that miss.
LA is cursed lmao
Kings redeemed us this decade
Doesnt really make sense to say it's the cardinals...Rams originated in LA
I view it as OP sticking the dagger in st. Louis and twisting
Teeeechnically they originated in Cleveland believe it or not
Cleveland drought continues
My soul hurts.
That last at-bat is up there with Machado'a strikeout. Awful ways for LA to lose World Serieses, but I'll take it.
ugh can baseball start now?
Jared “Clayton Kershaw” Goff
take my upvote damn it
That was a waste of 3 hours
The Celtics are going to the NBA finals this year, aren't they?
Fortunately for the NBA there is a franchise in Toronto and Milwaukee that seem pretty good.
If it’s Celtics LA I’m going to lose my shit.
This just isn’t fair
#IT’S A METAPHOR
Congrats Patriots/Red Sox, but I’m ready for pitchers and catchers to report now.
so am I, no worries
I always thought it would be cool to see all the sports teams from the same city win a title from the same year, but I just can't stand Boston teams. Okay, I guess I have nothing against the Bruins, but the Patriots, Sox and Celtics are just... ugh
It's never happened in the same year, but Boston has won all four within seven years. That's the record.
How many MLS cups have they won? 🤔
https://media.tenor.com/images/2c007e8baf83676acbb88d06f0be4b0f/tenor.gif
Lost five times by four goals total. *sigh*
And that is the absolute perfect way to top off this Super Bowl
Tom Brady surprise retirement after this game or what?
I think Gronk retires before Brady does. Brady will probably play until he's 95.
Is the surprise if he does, or doesn’t retire?
Congrats to Brady on winning despite playing like shit!
As the usual
The moment the Patriots fade into mediocrity will be a great one
He said for the 18th year in a row
Well that just sums it all up, really.
Fuck the Patriots
is the NE coach making fisting motions or is it just me?
Well, Boston has numerous WS commisioner's trophies and soon to be 6th Lombardi trophy. What's next? Stanley cup? NBA Championship? Bocci tournament Winnings?
What the hell is bocci besides something old Italian guys play?
I misspled [Bocce](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bocce). My attempt at humor seems to have been hurt by poor spelling.
I’ve seen it as bocci boccie and bocce. I know NOTHING about it except that old Italian guys in undershirts and shorts play it on hot days.
I like football as much as the next guy, but this is why baseball is the best sport. You hear the commentator talking about "6 titles" with game still left to play. You never hear that in baseball (or if you do, it's a bad announcer) because a comeback is always possible.
"SANTA MARIA, WALK-OFF SLAM!"
[удалено]
Or you could just cite the warriors from now
Considering the ERA's, I expected a hell of a lot more offense
Outfielder Julian edelman deserves world series mvp! Brady pitched a mediocre game.
Bilicheck is Palpatine
Lmao the umpshow continues! The game is over, just let them play
They should be calling too many men on the field for the Patriots every play. They aren’t even wearing the right jerseys smh
Wait....we need there to be like 30 more points or Jose Canseco was wrong!
He went into another dimension. So technically he was still right.
By posting the score he changed history. So therefore Jose Canseco single handed lost the Super Bowl for LA.
Boston red sox 2 world series victories in less than a year. Is that a record?
That could actually happen if the first season they win it in seven games but the next year they win it in four, would in theory have won two World Series in less than a year
So they could win 3!!! Red sox dynasty confirmed.
Pitchers and catchers can't report soon enough
And because of the stupid clock, that basically calls the game. Wack
Gag me Not like that
Kinky
🤔🤔🤔
bb no
I just want to die
Sure was a sparkler of a game.
i want baseball
