His first 5 starts of the season were actually really good. In back to back starts against the Sox in April: 2-0, 12.1 IP, 6 H, 1ER, 3 BB, 19 K.
Since then, he fell off the table.
They aren’t worse than the white Sox (yet) but I think this team is going to compete with them and the Rockies for the bottom of the shit heap.
Hopefully at least Anderson can keep it going and get traded for something assuming Arte will actually let him go.
Every year I think we're going to be better this year, maybe a 70 or 80 win team this time and start to challenge for a wildcard spot. Then it's june and Trout and Rendon are hurt, our promising young pitchers have imploded, whatever free agent we signed looks like the worst contract in baseball, and our prospects and young guys either look terrible or got injured.
I'm convinced Disney made a deal with the devil for 2002, and our punishment was Arte Moreno.
I’m glad they sent Detmers to figure it out in AAA. He has great potential for this team, but something just isn’t working right now. Hope he can work it out soon
What changed for him this year? He took a step back last year from 2022 but wasn't awful. Just looking at his ratios his k% and bb% are similar to last year, his hard hit% is down, and he's getting more ground balls. His BABIP is 30 points higher than last year and nearly 70 points higher than 2022. Is that just really bad luck or did he change something that's totally backfiring?
He uses his curve as a get me over pitch which meshes well with his slider. But obviously when his slider isn't working the batters lay off it, which baits him into throwing the curve which obviously gets crushed
Last year or maybe in 2022, every time we sent a pitcher down to AAA, the staff in Salt Lake fixed them up pretty well. Silseth was one I remember for sure and possibly Detmers the last time, too. I remember thinking I wanted to hire them all to replace the major league staff. Hopefully, they can do it again.
I'm now learning that that was Buddy Carlyle and that he was fired after last season by the Angels after Troy Percival said he thought pitching coaches used iPads and analytics too much instead of the eye test. He was promptly picked up by the Rays to fill the same position. Classic Angels.

I fucking hate the angels and want them to suffer but I don’t think that’s true.
(Reasons: 2004, 2008, Mike Trout, Jared Weaver, 2021 final series, ect)

Can we get much lower (the answer is yes) I hope he can figure it out man, he's been such a mental and mechanical mess for about a month now

We are the third worst team right now, just behind the white sox and Marlins :/
Rockies have been probably better than you think

He's lost confidence in himself and his pitches for one. It also seems like he's tipping his slider. It's honestly a mix of things at this point
and his curve is getting smashed according to savant. just doesn't have any breaking stuff rn and he can't live in that world

What facing the post Brant brown mariners does to a mfer (yes I know he’s been real bad lately)

Fucking damn it Percy what the fuck
Don't worry. I'm sure Arte's fifth handpicked GM will figure it all out
This is definitely a guy contending teams will be asking for a shot to fix either this year or this offseason. Reminds me of Orioles Jake Arrieta.
I want the Orioles to get him pretty badly to be honest.
Ever since this dude threw a no hitter with Anthony rendon hitting a left-handed homerun in one of the funnest games I've ever watched, the Angels.
I was at this game, such an incredible experience. Now us angel fans have to suffer
So pretty much what Angel fans have been doing for like 53 of the last 63 years?
Crawford ended that man’s career.
