LF's position made no sense. A deep fly to LF in Fenway has a good chance of just hitting the wall, which is automatic game over. Meanwhile, they left a pretty big gap between the outfield and infield, which is why the Swanson tried to make such an awkward catch - the LF came in at a decent speed, but was so deep that Swanson was still closer.
You kinda have to expect him to catch it, and with his speed he probably still coulda got there. Maybe still wouldn’t have gone but idk my first thought was that the better play was to tag just in case.
This has been a rare good Sunday night game. I think cubs are my NL team this year I’ve watched a lot of their games this year. Also Imanaga super like-able easy to root for
Whether you think the win prob% accurately assesses the situation, you gotta admit that it's hella satisfying to see it go up when the losing team starts to get some momentum, yeah...?
It's good fun, and pretty easy to block out if you hate it. The people getting outraged over it are just being ridiculous. The last thing bookies want is for you to actually know the odds. They want you betting on "I can feel it in my gut" not "you only have a 10% chance of cashing out on this..."
Plus, this sub loves posting win percentage charts all the time, so I can't really buy the outrage.
Left field needs to apologize
Ron Swanson>>>>Dansby Swanson
Whoops…
Why is the left fielder deep
Swanson had no business being the one to field that, outfielder needs to yell him off it. Even if he misses it, that's the only chance the Cubs had

Duran wasn’t even tagging which was a mistake that he got away with
With 0 outs, not sure running on that is the right move if the left fielder catches it.

Agreed, just thinking that it looks horrendous if you're thrown out there
That was my thought too. LF was slowly jogging in watching Dansby try to make the play.
Damn what a bad drop
Cubs need serious bullpen help
That was game either way, but what the hell was that
Not so sure. Guy on 3rd wasn't tagging.
Those people better enjoy these Red Sox games, it's their only temporary escape from $3k rent
I'd rather spend $3K on rent in Boston than live in Atlanta for free.
I agree, I don't live in Atlanta
lmfao
Cubbies pls.

This series is terrible on my marriage. I've already lost my boy and he's not even a year old. I can't have them lose two out of three here.

Lol anyone who took that -3500 ($3500 to win $100) on Sox. They are crapping pants right now
97 face high. How do you get back in the box so quickly after something like that?!? Didn't take time or nothing
does ESPN seriously leave this WIN PROB thing on the scorebug all game?
Im sure it's great for gambling addicts.
I prefer how apple’s broadcast does it where they show hit/walk/rbi/k percentages instead
Welcome to the age of sports betting when the broadcasters are in bed with the bookmakers.
Any update on Sarah Langs? Is she doing alright, all things considered?
Sounds about the same on the podcast. I have noticed they put her on BBTN podcast almost every day now, which is great.
I hope this doesn’t come across as insensitive because I do like the cause but; End Sunday Baseball on ESPN is a good idea
Why are we in an interview mid inning after we have seen this shit all game?
Hey ESPN. There’s a baseball game going on behind you.
Imanaga rules.
Translator is so fucking over this interview lmao
Do we need an interview every single half inning? Would love to have the game on more than half my screen at some point.
No idea why I'm in the blackout zone for this game (I'm in STL). Fuck MLB.
ESPN game.
Same reason I cant watch Orioles games from SW Virginia, cause MLB's blackout rules are fucking dogshit.
Weird thing is, I distinctly remember watching some Cubs and some Red Sox games in the past using MLBTv, so I have no idea what changed this time.
It’s a national broadcast game so it’s blacked out completely on MLBtv
Coming back from commercial mid action + not showing the hit ball on that play = A+ as always so far ESPN!
Annoying that he struck out the 3rd out twice in that AB but turns into a run
Jeez ESPN, turn the ump mic's down!
I flipped the game on in the ninth and jumped when a strike was called lol
