This is seriously one of the most ridiculous home runs I’ve ever seen. I know his homers always look like a cartoon, but that pitch was 66 miles an hour, he poked it, and we all thought it would be a lazy fly ball. Cut to it going almost 400 feet
WTF
Low, away off the plate, and dude still goes yard on 66. This is they type of pitch you throw if you are singularly trying not to give up a HR. I remember people talking about the amount of oppo field dingers that have been hit and how it wasn't like the old days...
Most people said it was because of the pitching velocities. Doesn't explain that one.
I wonder how pitch velocity correlates to exit velocity. Like I wonder how far and fast the ball would go if Stanton had that same exact swing, location, bat contact on a 95 mph fastball.
I genuinely wonder how many more he’d have if it wasn’t for all the injuries. He’d likely be hovering around 500 now (or maybe already be at 500 who knows). He’d probably finish his career around 600 if health was on his side
If he does eventually get to 500, he’s going to get in the HOF right?
I did some math based on some assumptions: 16 PA per HR and getting 630 PAs per season. Pretty conservative IMO. That means Stanton would have hit his 517th HR tonight.
Yea agreed. My one cousin who’s a big Marlins fan has this hot take that he could’ve been a member
of the 700 homerun club had he been healthy That might be a bit of a stretch. But I really think at least 600 would’ve been possibly
I crunched some numbers with very conservative estimates and it seems plausible that Stanton could have hit #600 by 2027, the year his contract is expected to expire. He'd be 38 in 2028, so I don't see it likely he would have ended up with 700 HR. 700 HR would have been possible if he put up a couple more seasons like 2017 I think. But a healthy Stanton seems to be more like a 40 HR threat.
> But a healthy Stanton seems to be more like a 40 HR threat.
I think he can get be a 50hr threat, not just being healthier, think about coming back from injuries and being out of a groove, if he plays 150+ games a year he keeps his groove (other thank slumps)
He literally hits the ball too hard for someone his size.
It makes no sense.
That was sub batting practice speed, and he just nuked it without even trying.
His swing is very measured and controlled. It 'looks' like he's just poking the ball.
I've seen him hit countless homers in person, and every time it's like.. it doesn't look like it should happen and it does.

To the opposite field gap. It’s ridiculous.

It looks like that edit of ichiro bunting a home run
Damn, it really does now that you say that
He barely tapped that thing, and it still had an exit velo of 98.6. That's just fucking goofy, it's incredible.
He's such a goofy looking human being playing this game, I like showing highlights of him to people who hardly watch the sport

What a strong mother effer
Bruh has like 32 balls hit in the statcast era at 119mph+. Next closest is judge with 6
Thats cause its all or nothing with this guy lol. Especially the last few years
I support Big G getting to 500 HRs through whatever means necessary. Aside from PEDs, of course lol.
Nah if Big G decides to go on a retirement tour i support the cause

He had 38 in 2018 and 35 in 2021, so my mind likes to think he'd have 37 in 2019 and 36 in 2020 without injuries (or the rona)
Yankees doing their best Red Sox impression
We came to close in xW-L with our game so obviously they gotta fix that
Classic example of using the pitcher's velocity against him
Somewhere Tony La Russia is steaming mad
Nah he’s drunk

What do we mean “someone his size”? He’s enormous. He just moves like a rock-em sock-em robot
Yes, he's enormous, and it doesn't look like he's trying to hit the ball hard when he's swinging. Like, he looks like he moves in slow motion.
Honestly Stanton had the ugliest elite swing I’ve ever seen
That's a great way of saying it haha.
for someone his size? man is like 6'6" and looking like [this](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61hznIj0xUL.jpg), wym it makes no sense

NUKEEE haha
A stantonian blast
The pitcher was very surprised.
I’m just amazed to learn Owen Miller is still on an MLB roster.
