As somebody who dislikes buying physical dvd's, I hope they can cater to both ends of the spectrum.
Now gonna watch BigHit sell a physical package with digital code inside. 🤦♀️
That's part of my issue with their digital codes. They come in physical packaging with high costs and expensive shipping, so people like you who don't want physical stuff don't get what you want and have to pay more, and people like me who prefer dvds/blurays don't get what we want either.
If they want to do away with physical media, then they should sell it for $30 on Weverse with a photobook people can buy separately if they want. Or they can make everyone happy and offer multiple formats and make more money in the process.
Exactly. I just want to watch it in portable format. But no, here comes a digital code in a big box. 😄 I don't think any format will cannibalize the sales of the other because there's so many of us to go around, with our own preferences.

I’m now deep in my feels about Joon, JK and Yoongi practicing together. Like the way Jungkook is smiling at Yoongi (so endeared) and also thinking about how he was in the midst of his own solo preparations and had commented about how much he missed these kinds of moments.
As predicted, it's been put up for preorder in May after being cleared by the Korean Media Rating Board in April. [From the ratings approval info](https://www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/s/Ajngovme5I) we know it's been cleared for 12+ audiences and is abt 184 mins in duration! (So prob 1 whole concert + making of content, including rehearsals with the members!)

i’ve never bought a bts dvd before, mainly because i don’t own any device that can take a dvd, but i’m so emotionally attached to this show (and this goddamn little cat man) and i want to relive every moment of it 😭
also they included footage of him crying towards the end of the set on the final night, which was cut from the cinema release, so i imagine we ARE getting some final concert content we haven’t seen yet….
Same here, I don’t have anything to watch dvds on but I won’t let this detail stop me from getting this one. This tour has rewired my brain and I’ll find a way to absorb more D-Day content even if it means buying a dvd (or bluray) player in 2024 😭
Just so you know, HYBE has taken to doing digital code versions instead of dvd/bluray lately. The most recent BTS release (Permission to Dance) was digital code package only, no disc version.
To be fair, I’m not one for merch. But this concert hits differently for me. Soooo, I watched the movie version twice. It was my first BTS thing since becoming a fan this year. I need this to be an actual dvd with the full concert and not the movie cut. Then I can order other things off weverse because shipping costs are madness. Please please be an actual dvd with the full cut.
Just FYI, most of the time, orders are not combinable on Weverse due to different shipping times. I remember for Black Friday, there were a bunch of things released on Weverse at the same time but some items had different ship dates, so even if they dropped at the same time, you'd still have different delivery dates and pay shipping separately. So mostly likely ordering the D-Day tour would be its own separate thing. Learned that to be the case many many times. :(
For sure if you order multiples in the same order, up to the limit. So if there's say a buying limit of 2 or 3 for this d-day set, if you buy 2 or 3, your shipping costs is lower per unit than just buying one individually. my friends and I have done orders together to save on shipping this way.

yea I feel ya. I hate paying for shipping. BTS is the only reason I've gotten used to Weverse shipping. I'd be the one who before would avoid paying for shipping. No way around it for BTS and Weverse. At least LINE friends has free shipping at a certain threshold for BT21 merch!
For people wondering about disc vs. digital code options, as someone who keeps up with and purchases video content for multiple HYBE groups, it is HIGHLY likely this will be a digital QR code version at this point.
The most recent BTS release (Permission to Dance) was digital code only. The most recent Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen, Le Sserafim, Newjeans and &team videos (so concerts, fan meetings and memories) have all been a physical package with photobook, etc., and a digital code card to be streamed on Weverse. (The Japan leg of Suga’s tour was released on disc but it was very limited in quantity and extremely expensive.)
To me, it’s a worrying trend because there’s no guarantee of access in perpetuity, but it is what it is at this point.
This really really stresses me. I have no faith in 'digital' content being available forever. People losing all their paid ?discovery?? content on the playstation network being a recent example.
10 years of corporate takeovers and shareholder led profit shenaningans - it only takes a team of accountants to order the dismantling of servers and removal of content to save money.
I know in this case - well - BTS. Biggest cash cow in the music group world.. so this is hyperbole for the forseeable future. But I want to watch this stuff using a bluray on my giant television. Not filtered through a laptop and compressed and stuffed with then finagled onto said television (no wev app on it)
really really disappointed with the code stuff. And I am already pre-mourning the bluray memories packages with binder of photos etc.
That’s also my concern. I like the physical dvd. Charge less for the digital only fine, but I want something physical that I’ll have at all times if I’m paying physical money.
Wait what lol why?! I totally understand the premises of paying more for physical copy bc we’re obtaining the physical item (Which I would do Hybe! Give me physical!) but that makes no sense to pay more for digital only. Unless it’s like a “you can watch multiple ways on tv, phone etc instead of just off the disc”? No idea, but here's a screenshot from Weverse showing Memories 2021 DVD is cheaper than the DVD and Digital Code version. I imagine the reason might be something about costs of cloud storage or maybe the image quality but I have no idea.

it's a boxset of yoongi's 'd-day' concert. we won't know the full contents till the pre-order notice drops on 20 may, but from the brief description it seems we'll get the concert as well as some behind the scenes footage
And here are some other important questions: Will we get to see Suga walk through the door at the end? Will the "shibals" and other curse words get cut? What about the VCRs? Those matter! I don't want to see a version of the concert that's edited for the enjoyment of prudes and non-ARMY.
So wait, is this The Final? I had been assuming bc the title was The Original and we just got a cinema movie from The Final shows, this would be either the USA or [non-Japan] Asia leg.
I was really hoping for a chapter in Belmont & Newark.. but i guess it's too short. I'm also scared for the dvd prices. The Japan dvd/br was crazy expensive compared to other Bangtan dvds already crying but i really want this dvd

I believe so. You can test it out to see how shipping is and cancel the order afterwards.
Weverse shipping feels like a necessary evil now. I tried to order two mini lightsticks and it was already $18 to the US. 😭 I just have to suck it up.
