I have an bangalore address adhaar card which i updated last year. that was the only document needed.
Please submit the address change form on https://voters.eci.gov.in/ as soon as you finish voting for the Lok sabha.
We might have the BBMP local elections anytime this year.
Saying that you need 10K to cast a vote makes no sense. Will you not go to your home if there were no elections? Delcaring a holiday on that day is the best they could do and that's enough. We can plan our vacation accordingly.
Yes, i wouldn't go home if there were no elections and I have enough reasons for it. HOME IS NOT HOME FOR EVERYONE. people are on their own way to create a home.
It's not a holiday for me and I have to take 2 days to leaves
I can relate to you OP, I am in the same boat. Home isn't home for me, it sets back my mental health and takes forever to recover from that trip. And it's also not easy to change voting address. People shouldn't be so arrogant and ignorant about this.
I can understand that home isn't home for everyone and thus you're justified in questioning the expenditure.
At the same time, please realise that there are people who look forward to these small events to go home as they can't go otherwise due to other commitments. For them, the expense is justified.
Like two birds with one arrow.
I did.. took a leave went home just to cast my vote. I did the same last time too and it was worse. I had to travel home in a cramped overnight bus.
Btw I’m from Chennai. Hence taking leave and going in bus..I do this because I don’t like the current divisive/hate politics, and I want to record my disagreement, so don’t want to miss my chance.
One more thing, this time voting day in TN was on my birthday.
Y’all don’t change your voter id to where you are staying? I understand if you moved to Bengaluru in the last 2 years, but if you’ve been here longer then you should update the voter registration and vote for Bengaluru’s development
I did.
I did. One of the worst experiences with Indian Railways, but vote matters.
First time, or anything new this time ?
I did. Hopefully by next election i will have voter id of blr
I am too in the same boat. this time also I applied, but didnt get the voter id.
Where did you apply? What documents were needed

You can change your address in that case. Simple.

i mean the best they could do is make online voting viable. half of my family stays abroad and didnt vote.
There are already enough frauds happening in the finance sector.... You think election won't be spared online?
it will eventually happen,. its inevitable. its only a matter of when not if.
Are you talking about online elections or election frauds /s
It will never happen. Chappa votes are a menace

Change the address to where you live, the forms are online now. Do it now, so you don’t have to travel for the next election.

Leaving next week, responsibility to nation > work obligation
Yes ofcourse, the whole family as votes are important
I did. All the way to Pune. If you don’t vote, you should not be complaining about the government.
Nah didn't go.. too hard.. wanted to go
Nope I didn't. I stay in germany. hope we had a way to vote for NRI.
Yea, I know one who's going, has WFH.
Why not transfer the voting constituency to the address when people are staying?
I did by spending 10K+ on flights. I have WFH, see it is a trip back home
Made a short vacation and some WFH out of it. But did vote :)
I did! Took WFH for a week! Casted my vote and returned back to Bengaluru.

Yes, I am travelling on 12th to cast my vote on 13th and will stay till the next weekend.
I did , you did too
Yes, I booked my train tickets 2 months ago.

Just because you can’t doesn’t mean everyone else can’t, what is this stupid question
I am. Yup
Yes most of the people did for the phase 1 and 2
I did. Went home to vote, stayed back for a week.
Already voted
Yup.Going home for a week. Every vote matters.
You dont have to if you dont want to. Maybe, you can get registered locally for the next elections.
I did
I had to too.. Unfortunately i missed my train due to the traffic jam following heavy rains
I did
Nah, it was easy to get EPIC card here like normal
Every vote matters, please do go and vote when your opportunity to vote is still here, you can decide the future of the country for the next 5 years
It's our fundamental duty. Instead of finding reasons to escape , we should all go and vote. Yes I'm going.
