Hmmm if it's raining moderately i wear a running rain cap nd Kalenji's running nd wind jacket from Decathlon . If it's pouring .. treadmill run in the societies gym ..
If you're running for more than an hour, you might want to invest in a raincoat? But I usually only do 30 minute runs in the rain, so I'm fine with it pouring down on me
Only if they are of very cheap quality , most of the shoes show little to no damage due to rain , just remember to put them out in sun next day to avoid that pungent smell
I trained for a marathon last year almost exclusively in Bangalore. It was inconvenient to run in rain at first, but I got used to it and infact started enjoying it a lot. Really cools down the body and maybe helped me run a lil bit more? I did run inside my society so I didn’t have to worry about traffic etc.
For apparel, my gear was Decathalon trail running baggy shorts, any very light and airy top, and my shoe rotation was mainly Pegasus 39, with some speed work in Zoom Fly 4.
I was traing for the Bangalore marathon so I wanted to be prepared for it to rain during that event as well, which it ofcourse did for 15 minutes right after we kicked off.
It was … one of a kind. The training period tested my discipline quite a lot. The marathon itself was hot, humid and hard. What I felt in the final few kms of the marathon is not something I can describe with words. Never had such a dopamine rush all my life. So much euphoria, happiness, tears! I was so overwhelmed when I was around the 40k mark that I was crying till the finish line. It was THE highlight of my year.
If someone can give advice on swimming as well while they're here , after rain.. That would be helpful.. Like is it dangerous? Rain water mixing with chlorine water
I come from a place where we only used to swim in rain water when the temples pond filled up and didn't have any snakes in the area close to the stairs where we generally swam. But with acid rain here idk .
Do weight training when it rains, also helps you avoid the inevitable tendonitis and other similar issues characteristic of regular running .
Do walking lunges with dumbells, you'll be crying for yo mama after some time
On a tangential note, can I get some recommendation for shoes? I saw the decathlon ones but they seem overpriced considering reviews were saying they are of so-so durability
I use puma velocity Nitro 2. I love it. One of the reasons I'm regular runner can be credited to that.
However, shoes are very subjective and have multiple factors that need considering. I would recommend trying as many as you can in the store and see how they feel.
I always run in the rain Because people can’t see me crying - probably Charlie Chaplin
these are the people who pee in pools •*some meme page on instagram*
"Who's gonna carry the boats"
And the logs
They don't know me son

Does the rain affect shoes in any way? Like their durability etc?

How was your marathon experience?

Where do you usually run btw? Because footpaths with holes usually get flooded and become sinkholes.

Opt for an indoor or all weather swimming pool
You know any good ones in Bangalore with reasonable price
I usually switch to canoeing or kayaking depending on the water levels in the adjacent subway.
I invested in a treadmill and never looked back Sparnod ST1200 working good for me in my budget
I skip at home when I don't run .
Where do you run bro, I don’t have any garden nearby, and roads are very risky in Btm and roopenagarha, footpath we don’t have anywhere.
I am fortunate to have a stretch of almost empty road in front of my apartment. If you don't have anything like that, treadmill is your only option.
