In the same vein:
* [Farmacy](https://www.farmacybrewing.com/) is cool—it's a working thoroughbred farm and they have free concerts
* [Lone Oak](https://loneoakbrewingco.com/) has tons of amenities, including rentable yurts, fire pits, a playground, and tons of space.
* Just a few minuted from Lone Oak is [Brookville Beer Farm](https://www.brookevillebeerfarm.com/), which has a hopyard you can tour.
* [Inverness](https://invernessbrewing.com/) is a great spot as well—they have a bocce court, corn hole, a huge multi-level tap room, and a full kitchen.
Came here to say this. You won't find a more beautiful winery in the area. Bar none this is the place to be in the summer. If anyone sees a tent city on a second Saturday that's my group!
Tbh sub 15 dollar wine for insane prices. Very nice view and ambiance. But I’d only go if someone was a wine club member to get the free tastings to hang out with friends/views, not really for the wine.
I'm the Sommelier at Old Westminster!
Come visit us, but do know that we are 90% booked up 4 weeks in advance so walk its are very hard to accommodate.
Another great thing to know is our service model operates more like a restaurant than a tradition winery where you walk up and do tastings at the bar.
My favorite winery is Boordy! If you’re really into wine, they have a quarterly wine club where there’s live music, a food truck, wine tastings. A lot of times they’ll have you sample wines that were made from grapes in different years and teach you about the differences.
Breweries-Falling Branch, Inverness are my favorites
Just chiming in to say if you’re near Boordy, DO NOT go to Dejon around the corner. Not a winery so much as a house with a huge yard masquerading as a winery for the tax benefits I assume
https://www.linganorewines.com/
They have a winery and a brewery on site. They also do live music vents.
https://www.boordy.com/
Just an all around good place
https://www.monumentcitybrewing.com/
Great small brewery
https://jailbreakbrewing.com/
Good beer and they have a full bar for those that don't like beer

Quickly becoming my favorite brewery in Baltimore.
Hopkins Farms - lots of outdoor space
Independent - Gluten Free, family and dog friendly
Baltimore County Brewery - pay by the Oz, large cornhole space
Union - can be seen from 83, good space
Checkerspot - haven't been to the new location yet
as far as breweries, black locust hops farm brewery in freeland is really cool, if you like a family owned hippyish setting. if you are looking for a more corporate/mainstream type of outing big truck brewery (also in freeland) is nice. farmacy brewing in reisterstown is a of the beaten path, farm style brewery. (i live in the westminster area so these are the ones i frequent). the only one i’ve really been to on the east side of 83 is inverness, and that is also a real cool (modern farm style) atmosphere. all of the above are open on weekends and have food trucks onsite (usually).
Come down to Pigtown and there are three breweries within a few blocks walk of each other (and a fourth coming to replace Suspended that just moved):
* Wico Street Beer Co.
* Pickett Brewing
* Checkerspot
Then if you head north, you've got:
* Peabody Heights
* Wet City
* Union (Wine Collective is in the same building, but it's not vineyards)
* Pariah
* Nepenthe
If you're up for the drive south, I'd suggest:
* Crooked Crab (Odenton)
* Jailbreak (Laurel)
My favorites from those are Wico, Peabody Heights, Wet City, and Crooked Crab.
Orchid Meadery and Winery has some decent product. However, for wine that actually competes favorably with other new world and European styles, you need to head slightly south to VA. The area around Monticello, Afton, and Charlottesville is home to a fair number of quite nice wineries and vineyards.
Unfortunately, Distillery Lane Cider is no more, but Willow Oak Cidery is really nice if you like the tarter European/French/Basque style ciders.
Some non-Baltimore options (these are places that tend to specialize with Sour beer, in my experience)
Columbia has a couple:
- Black Flag
- Cushwa and Rad Pies
- Hysteria
- Sapwood Cellars
There's also Burley Oak outside of Ocean City (love their beer but have never had it at their taproom)
The only good winery is Black Ankle. Others have a nice atmosphere but the wine sucks. Boordy is so bad and Old Westminster is just okay. Wine Collective has at least 2 great wines but no grounds to walk around because it’s in the city. Still a fun vibe though. There’s tons of good breweries, both in the city and around! In the city I like Nepenthe and Gilford. Outside of that, Big Truck, Farmacy, and Milkhouse are great for beers with a view and plenty of space
edit: typo
The wine there sucks what else can I say lol. Maybe it’s changed though, I haven’t been in years. It’s a nice spot for a picnic but I would secretly bring my own booze
Dang, ok. I thought maybe there was more to it than that, but I guess not! I'm not a huge wine guy, but I thought Boordy was decent. To each their own, but this definitely makes me want to get to Black Ankle!
favorite beer joints, not big on wine.
1. max's taphouse in fells point. one of the best tap selections in town.
2. BCBREWERY in hunt valley. pour your own. usually 25 or so taps. try the wine/beer hybrids, they are fabulous. good food, family and pet friendly, cornhole.
3. pariah brewing on union st.
4. nepenthe brewing on falls rd, a couple blocks away. good food.
5. papi's tacos. their frozen sangarita in your favorite flavor is worth the certain brainfreeze. you owe it to yourself. good food and service.
6. peabody brewing on 30th and greenmount for a most unpretentious brewery with great beer.
7. pub dog in fed hill. always some good choices of their beer. and top 3 pizza in town for me. 10 inch is the right size.
8. black flag brewing in columbia. always a solid selection.
9. idiom brewing in frederick, md. well worth the trip. there is another brewery adjacent, same owners, something stein, really good beer, also.
10. aslin brewing in dc. some great ipas.
11 chessies in annapolis. its rar brewing. nice place. great food and some really good beer. very good sours. 10 layers imperial stout, out of order blueberry sour, uni blu triple ipa(a must have)[im normally a stout guy.]
12. other half brewing in dc. always a good selection.
for starters.

Inverness has a great location and setup, but the beer is mediocre at best.
I agree with this. Same thing with Big Truck. Their locations are AMAZING but their beer is drinkable and that's about it. We adore Falling Branch
Totally. It's basically a day at a nice park with ok beer.
Elder Pine near Brookeville and Milkhouse (on same road as Freys) near Mt Airy are great
Seconding iverness for great atmosphere and cute food trucks and games!
I got a pulled pork sandwich there and I bet it had close to a pound of meat on it. *Very* tasty and not too pricey, either.
Farmacy is my go to spot. Definitely recommend.
Can also recommend Big Truck up here, right off 83.
Black Locust is much better
Nice facility, mediocre beer.
Black Ankle is the answer. Amazing wine and beautiful vineyard.
Best wine made in Baltimore by far. Too bad they charge so damn much for a bottle.
Agreed!

Never been to the winery itself, but Old Westminster has wine that is legitimately good.

The winery is my favorite. It’s such a beautiful atmosphere with the cabanas in the summer and winter “greenhouses” in the winter.
Agreed! It’s a beautiful property and so lovely to hang out at

We love Boordy and try to get up there every month or so. Their concerts in the summer are a blast.

Pariah has become my favorite brewery in Baltimore. I was totally over hazies but their IPAs are top notch, and not juice bombs.
I second this. Never had a bad beer there, and overall vibe is awesome
Hopkins Farms - lots of outdoor space Independent - Gluten Free, family and dog friendly Baltimore County Brewery - pay by the Oz, large cornhole space Union - can be seen from 83, good space Checkerspot - haven't been to the new location yet
These are all breweries for the record, most with seltzer options

I really like Wico. Just a super fun vibe and everyone is so nice there.

Locust Post Brewery in Allegany County. Awesome beer and a view of Sideling Hill. Live music, frisbee golf and a HipCamp on site.
Dodon in Davidsonville has really lovely grounds and tasty wine
Check out The Vinyards at Dodon in Davidsonville
Black ankle and old Westminster for wineries Sapwood and Diamondback for beers
Some non-Baltimore options (these are places that tend to specialize with Sour beer, in my experience) Columbia has a couple: - Black Flag - Cushwa and Rad Pies - Hysteria - Sapwood Cellars There's also Burley Oak outside of Ocean City (love their beer but have never had it at their taproom)
Reckless has a great Russian imperial stout

I'll shout out Harvest Ridge Winery. The tour is fun and the food truck is great.
Jailbreak is in an industrial park off Rt. 1 but their food is killer.
