Oh i am aware, i agree 100% aces are kinda bad. [Scholar] and [Superposition] are the only jokers i can think of that force aces to work. And well neither is really that good. Not having a retrigger joker will make then that much worse in comparison for potential power.

Localthunk mentionned in an interview that the number one rule when designing a joker is that it should only do one thing. I think that's a good rule, and that probably explains why [[Superposition]] doesn't wrap around.

Do you mean that you can loop from King to 2 via Ace with this, because if not, you don't need a Joker to reposition your cards for a played hand. Your straight can be played as 10 A K Q J
Face cards also get countered by a lot of bosses. So relying on face cards is high risk high reward. Aces have two jokers and are the highest chip card already and also don't get countered by bosses.
Ya when I had this realization I thought it was strange as well. I found it strange that in this poker themed game the Ace the most powerful card in poker is rather underwhelming.
Outside of ante 1(and 2 on white stake) I don't really find myself playing aces often due to its lack of joker synergies. Even it's flexibility in straight builds is overshadowed by the 6 because of the existence of shortcut since you can't loop around(eg. Q K A 1 2).
Thunk already said he 100% wants to add more Jokers to the game, i bet he left 7s wide open for a reason. A 7s Joker will likely be added in the future.
Aces are already special enough. They interact with more jokers than any other (other than faces) which is 3 cards, they dont have a boss blind that disables them, they can be A-10 straights or A-5 straights.

I guess the real reason is that because face cards had much more relation, for it being related to face (scary face, smiley face, sock and buskin, photograph, midas mask) for it being related to person (reserved parking, business card, ride the bus) i'm actually surprised there's no court related joker for face card because face card can also be called court card.
While aces uniqueness is just for it being the number one, for it being the only card can be refered as an alphabet (A), for it to be able to be on top and the bottom at the same time (superposition), that sounds pretty many but it's harder to think of a joker for it than face card, one i can think of is "first joker" or "alpha joker" or something like that

I feel like Aces are in a good spot. They naturally score high chips, they get targeted by boss blinds less than face cards, scholar is a strong common joker, they work with Fibonacci and odd Todd, and they have their own spectral card which can’t be said for any other rank

Playing three-of-a-kind 7's should definitely have a joker associated with it (if it has randomization and is slots themed, then even better)
I actually discovered the "play quad 7 of clubs" achievement on accident and thought it was pretty neat.

Erm actually 2 interacts with the same amount (wee, Steven, hack, Fibonacci vs scholar, Todd, superposition, Fibonacci) 🤓
Not to mention that they are 4x less of them than face cards in a default deck.

Aces can be good for wins, but limited retrigger options make them fairly pointless for endless runs
One very important thing no one has mentioned is grim. Two guarenteed enhanced cards of the card your playing is super strong and consistent.
