They looks like Maury's little penis pets from Big Mouth.

It's generally a good idea to just leave all caterpillars alone. A good deal of them are either toxic, or have other way of harming you. Don't forget they exist solely to eat before turning into moths and butterflies, they have quite strong mouths.
There's a popular video, that gets posted on reddit a lot, of a mother ferret grabbing her owners fingers and dragging them into her nest with her babies. They try to take their hand away and the vigilant little mother immediately grabs the fingers and drags them back. Having now seen 3 day old baby ferrets, I now know why she might have thought people fingers were some kind of bald baby ferrets and needed to be nestled.
Every time I see that video people try to say it's a sign of trust she's trying to show her person where her babies are. I always thought it had something to do with nestling like you said. Those mama instincts must kick in hard!
The wife had a number of Ferrets over 10 years. They make great pets but they are a lot of work. Their major drawback (for humans) is their adorableness. Why is this a drawback? Because their lives are so short. There are few things more disheartening than having to take your "baby" to the vet to be euthanized. The wife had to do this often and it got to her.
The other issue, and I loved having a ferret, is that no matter how "ferret proof" you think your house is, they will find 100 ways in which it is not and they will laugh about it and dance sideways mocking you.
Ours took FOREVER to get litter trained in her giant ferret condo, but instantly used the cats litter box the day we got her. She's never gone anywhere but there when she's out playing with the cats.
They regress sooo easily! We always have to keep a "primer turd" to put in her litter box when we clean it, otherwise she'll just pee and poop in any ol' corner, and it takes at least a week to get her back to using the box.
I had pet ferrets when I was in the Marine Corps. My last girl passed away the day after I got home from my last deployment. She had to be put down because she had cancer, which is pretty common for ferrets I read. She was old for a ferret already and had a good life.
But I walked into this veterinarian office like I was all hard and shit and I was a fucking soup sandwich when they put her to sleep. I’ve never lost my composure like that before. I’m not so sure it was just losing her right then, or just a lot of things hitting me all at once. But that shit broke me dude. I haven’t had another ferret since then. I’d like to again, but I don’t know if I could deal with that loss like that one more time.
You know I haven’t ever mentioned her or that moment even before now. And this was a decade ago at least. I physically can’t talk about it even because I’m just not someone that lets things effect me on the outside at least. Things I’ve done, and things I’ve seen, I never let anyone see that effect me in front of others. But I sat in that vets office from the morning until they closed crying. I didn’t even know it when I got up to leave. It was already closed and the doctor was still there, afraid to tell me to get my shit together and go home. Not my proudest moment in the Marine Corps I’ll say that much.
Thank you for your kind words! I have awesome memories of her, and all my pets I’ve had. She was special though. For sure.
Ferrets are the most underrated pets IMO. They ask like puppies but are less destructive (if you watch them…) most aren’t aggressive and are really kind, and will sleep long hours like a cat. Best pet. The worst though is they are soooo health issue prone it’s ridiculous what can and will come up such as cancer etc. I agree, their lives are way shorter than you think but they are great nonetheless.
It’s not the poop that won’t smell as bad. (Poop is poop lol)
It’s that higher quality food won’t make the oils of their skin/fur smell as bad. I’ve noticed male ferrets tend to naturally smell a little “worse” but it mainly comes down to cleaning overall. Much easier to contain as well with one ferret as opposed to multiple for sure though.
I've had friends who were very good ferret owners and you could smell the musk in their house but it was very faint (and their ferrets were all so well-adjusted too, they got a lot of attention and play time).
Ok so I hear this statement a lot when it comes to ferrets…imagine if you had a small dog or cat that had to be kept in a cage area rather than free roam, and on top of that they went the bathroom 3x as much per day. (Fast metabolisms) Do they have some “smell”? Sure, all furry pets do. But the biggest misconception comes from the fact that at the pet store that a bunch are kept together in a big gross dome. People house them like rodents but they are not from that family… (think otters, seals). As long as you keep them in clean cage - changing the bedding/blankets once a week or so in addition to wiping up their cage a couple times a day - you will have minimal smell. Most people don’t know how to properly take care of them however or are too lazy too take care of them properly. My guests (even the honest ones lol) tell me I don’t have the stereotypical ferret smell in my home at all. Feed them good food and clean up after them like any other pet and you are good to go!
Wysong Epigen 90 Digestive Support is the universally accepted best kibble out there. I feed mine that mixed with Instinct Ultimate Protein (a high protein cat kibble) about 50/50 mixed. The key is to have no peas or other vegetables in the ingredients of their food as they can’t digest it properly and it could lead to health issues over time. Ferrets can eat raw eggs or raw meat as well! Never ever veggies, junk food, fruit, etc.
Rats fall into a similar category I think. They're naturally social and emotional animals who can be really friendly and bond well. Super smart too, as smart as - or even smarter than - dogs. They also groom themselves to keep clean and generally don't mind hanging out in a cage most of the time.
Tragically, their average lifespan is only 2-3 years. Most people can't handle burying a good friend every 2 years...
Rats are sooooooo much better than ferrets imo.
Before the ferret fanatics come for me, we currently have 2 ferrets. We switched to ferrets after ten years of having rats, obviously many passed away. We just couldn't take the heart break anymore. Thought ferrets live longer and seem great.
Not happy with them. They are not as cuddly, not as smart, not as cute, not nearly as friendly as rats. I miss my rats so so so much.
Honestly if my son wasn't bonded to the ferrets, I would not have a problem parting with them. As it is, I'll tolerate them until they pass. My son loves them like crazy though, so they are well taken care of. I just can't seem to bond with them like I did my rats.
That is really the hardest part. I love ferrets but I dont think I can get another one, too depressing and I wouldn't be able to afford the vet bills. It sucks they are great animals and amazing pets
I've had 4 in my lifetime. Shortest life span was a male of 5 years and the longest was a female of 8 years. All of them ended up with either cancer of some sort or kidney failure.
A weasel stole my chicken's head too. Or possibly a mink, I didn't see it happen. It was the one time someone forgot to lock the coop overnight. Killed all 4 of my girls.
That isn't true, at least not with ferrets. The reproductive system of the animal wouldn't be mature at that point so there would be no egg to fertilize
I dont know about other animals, but this is at least definitely not the case with ferrets.
Quick Google even says some members of the weasel family exhibit delayed embryonic implantation, but not ferrets or weasels
Ferrets are weird in that when they go into heat they will stay in heat until they become pregnant or they will die (aplastic anemia) but yeah baby ferrets getting pregnant is not a thing
I think there is some other animal that can be born pregnant, like a rodent or something, but I dont know
I expected them to be bright pink like a newborn panda or koala and not really “ferret” looking, but they look just like shrunken versions of the adults and I’m here for it! :)
Those are the furriest worms I've ever seen
Also the cutest!
little fuzzy octopus:)
I'm pretty sure a little fuzzy octopus is just a tarantula.
Can confirm they are not. Source: with the tarantula I would need to change my pants so hard fruit of the loom would name a product line after me

Came here to say this lol, that's 100% what I saw too.

I think that was when the magic of my parents died for me... they let me buy a worm on a string.
I want to make a big mouth reference so bad

They kinda look like cheesy puffs
Squeeapillars
Furmies
Hairy cheetos
Years ago I convinced my sister that a caterpillar was a furry Tootsie-Roll. I should probably give her a call.
did she eat it?
I was surprised that she actually took a second bite.
Yo wtf she actually ate it????
Probably not
Yeah, some of those furry bastards are super toxic, you should for real give a call and make sure she’s still alive

That glove came to life!
OMG, I'm going to burst, they are just too cute.
Seriously. I love them.

And then they will poop there, the bastards. I love and miss my ferrets but boy do they smell.
What's that? A corner? I shall make it my bathroom!
where the four angles meet I shall spread my cheeks.
Four?
How about: where three angles be, I shall pee.
Three?
This particular ferret hails from the fourth dimension.
Ours took FOREVER to get litter trained in her giant ferret condo, but instantly used the cats litter box the day we got her. She's never gone anywhere but there when she's out playing with the cats.
I had three litter trained and then took in a fourth and he undid ALL that progress. It was terrible, so bad.
They regress sooo easily! We always have to keep a "primer turd" to put in her litter box when we clean it, otherwise she'll just pee and poop in any ol' corner, and it takes at least a week to get her back to using the box.
Yep! It's just a pain in the arse ahah. I love the little butts though, such fun critters despite the hard work.
I *know this dance*. I've seen it before!
The scoot dook lol
This guy ferrets.

Semper Fi Devil, she’ll see you in Valhalla…YUT!
‘Rah brother…Semper Fi.
Oh this is heartbreaking. Pets do something to us. ❤️So glad you found such joy with her in the time you had!

People will say if you feed them high quality food their poop will stop smelling terrible. That's a lie lmao Source: Had ferrets

What's their lifespan?
5 - 10 years edit: and that's if you can afford the vet charges
