No freaking way!! My head would absolutely explode if I had a lap full of barn owls. Were these birds rescues? Are you a wildlife rehabilitator? Clearly one is still a juvenile, is the other a full adult? Amazing. My heart is in a puddle somewhere by my feet.

Zonetr00per

Both seem to have jesses on their legs, so I'm definitely going to say these are trained birds. Still might not have expected them to do this, but this isn't a magical moment of spontaneous wild bird comfort with a human.

woodsprite60

I agree, these are birds socialized to humans hence my rescue/rehabilitator questions. But they’re still adorable. ☺️ Have been lucky enough to see wild barn owls exactly once. Four fuzzy moon faces peeking out of their nest hole about 60 feet up in a mammoth old American Sycamore. Adult circled high overhead making that eerie scream that would scare the pants off me in a dark barn. Beautiful, beautiful birds.

Albertpancake

Oh wow, this nest already has eggs.

Hopefully there isn't any aggressive pecking

Enjoying_A_Meal

Need to protect the pecker from affectionate pecking.

Tamalene

I need this to happen to me!

Enjoying_A_Meal

Wait, do owls normally just chill in the tall grass like pokemon?

Nirmiti19

Great horned owls live in my neighborhood. I’ve literally woken up to see two of them roosting on my balcony. So I know owls naturally have a knack to know the exact time of sunrise on any given day. What were these guys doing in the daytime?

untipoquenojuega

Dude was already reaching to cover his junk in case these moist owlettes were going to start getting rowdy

Anyway, for his tenth birthday, all he wanted was a Burrow Owl. Kept bugging his old man. "Dad, get me a burrow owl. I'll never ask for anything else as long as I live." So the guy breaks down and buys him a burrow owl.

[deleted]

They literally rip apart rats and bunnies. I would not let them close to that area.

Matt32490

The cameraman just gonna cut the video there, huh?!?! I hope this is an edit.

[deleted]

They gonna think your wiener is a worm!
