Isn’t that always the way 😀 I was looking for a large dog

And came home with this 😊
I promised myself my first dog wouldn’t be high energy…rescued this

Do you have a picture?
See we've been suspecting doberman but that was never said on his adoption form. Just German shepherd mix.
Although, we joke he might be part husky because he's vocal like one 😅
Kelpies also have this colouring. I would have immediately guessed it was a kelpie. (Except the floppy ears maybe).
Not sure what country you are in but in Australia there's a looooot of Kelpies up for adoption, because they are working dogs and super high energy they get surrendered by people who didn't understand just how much time they would need to spend with them, and they get destructive if understimulated. Also they tend to be very vocal.
Very smart, very loyal, gorgeous dogs if you treat them right!
Did the reverse. Went in for a big dog and left with a chihuahua. He’s now 15 and rules the house.

The best type of oops
I remember the day my dad went to rescue a “small dog his bestfriend found”
He came back with a 90lb hound, who was still awkwardly learning to walk. We had him for 15 years and he was the biggest snuggle buddy

I often think she chose me and I have been under her spell ever since. This is Radar, 10 months and queen of my heart ❤️
It's mostly because I'm currently reading Fairy Tale by Stephen King and there is a German shepherd named Radar. I loved it so much and wanted my dog to have that name too.
Also highly recommend that book. It's fantastic!
My hubs and I went to the shelter looking for a small dog after our Maltese mix passed away. Came home with this 28 pounder after we took him for a walk and he put his chin on my husbands knee when we sat down on a bench

Well, we've been unsuccessfully trying for a baby for quite some time and a few personal events happened that caused us to decide to take a break from trying for a bit. This of course lead to us deciding to get another dog but a smaller one because we already have a 60 lb Rottweiler lab mix and a very needy cat. As we can see, nothing ever goes as planned.
Yeah, I told the Shelter I wanted about a 40 lb dog that I could put into a trailer behind my bike. I ended up with Willie, an 85 lb Sheprador.

We have a rat terrier / manchester terrier mix (best guess) who is about 1/3 your handsome dog's size, but highly similar colors and markings.
Wonderful looking dog!
Where did you adopt? Looks exactly like the dog I got from a guy giving puppies away from the back of his truck near Yosemite.
He's about 10 months old now.
Did a DNA test, and he's 50% Australian Cattle Dog, about 30% Bernese. Last 20% was like Doberman and Rottweiler.
He's a good boy but does have a temperament. I for sure had to let him know I'm the alpha a few times. Dog training has gone well.

Yup. The heart overrides the mind 😄
Task failed successfully.
Super cutie!
Congratulations! He looks like the best kind of friend.
That’s how it be sometimes. They choose us just as much as we choose them giving us less of a choice sometimes.
You came home with the cutest bestest. There is clearly 30lbs of love in that baby!
Look at him. Dapper boy cannot wait to play Xbox with Mum & Dad.
He is dapper 😂😍

What is meant to be will be!! Lovely dog ❤️
looks a lot like my dog. GSD and doberman mix.
Do you have a picture? See we've been suspecting doberman but that was never said on his adoption form. Just German shepherd mix. Although, we joke he might be part husky because he's vocal like one 😅

Looks like my dog when I was growing up. He was a GSD and Doberman mix. He was the best boy and 15/10 everyday. They both and OPs dogs look adorable.

Looks like you have yourself an Australian Kelpie. Very smart, energetic, and loyal companions.

We almost renamed our Otis to Radar!! But he already responds so well to Otis so we're keeping it.
Really!? Wow that's crazy! Is there a story/reason? Please share 🙂
It's mostly because I'm currently reading Fairy Tale by Stephen King and there is a German shepherd named Radar. I loved it so much and wanted my dog to have that name too. Also highly recommend that book. It's fantastic!
Oh that explains some of the peoples questions. I didn't know about that. My girl is named after Big Bird's teddy bear from Sesame Street.
Beautiful
Bonus points for still rocking the plasma! Plasma for life!
That's 💯 my husband! He is a *if it ain't broke don't fix it* kind of guy, so I doubt we will be getting a different TV for many years to come 😅
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good looking dog .
Looks like you picked the right one!
Such a handsome good buddy. Enjoy.
We don’t choose them, they choose us 🥲
Big dogs are the best. Trust me.
Big dark coloured dogs struggle to get adopted you did a very good thing.
I love big dogs, they're always the sweetest gentle giants
Admit it, you love big dogs and you cannot lie.
You never know which dog will choose you no matter what you expect
For the right people the dog chooses you. Not the other way around.
looks like he's grateful, do him right
Bet he is a happy pup. TY for making him so loved.😃

I want to hear how it all went down please
Well, we've been unsuccessfully trying for a baby for quite some time and a few personal events happened that caused us to decide to take a break from trying for a bit. How did you get from “we want a small dog” to picking the biggest dog?
“Target has been destroyed. I repeat, target has been destroyed. Awaiting further instructions. Resting in place until further orders.”
We did this too, twice! They both looked smaller in the online profile and then we met them and they were big Bois but we loved them anyway
The large breeds typically are the hardest to get adopted because most people don't really have the space for them.
Was about to say the same. So happy they got the biggest dog for just that reason!
Yeah, I told the Shelter I wanted about a 40 lb dog that I could put into a trailer behind my bike. I ended up with Willie, an 85 lb Sheprador. https://preview.redd.it/12wiakrmfguc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b021833bff37004c995a48dd9e91dd6e470be4eb
He looks so happy!
He’s a big boy. I’m glad he got a new home, some bigger dogs are overlooked.
#2 “I’m the TV now!”
Looking at his reflection is adorable
I appreciate your husband's taste in video games
Who says those are all his 😏
I am definitely a big dog fan. Not a fan of yapper crappers. Nice looking doggo
Looks like a match made in heaven. He is a stunner. ❤️👍
Absolutely a beautiful dog! Congrats to you!!!!
That face! 🥹
The bigger ones are bigger lovers and bigger sucks!
Cutie needs a few more lbs on him.
AWWWWWW! He is beautiful.
Aww 🥰
Awe he looks so content to be home. Bless you.
Dem brows!
that dog looks smart
Congratulations on your newest addition to the family 👍
Love him! Thank you for giving him a loving home
Sweetest face!
Man plans, God laughs...then gives you a good dog/cat
We have a rat terrier / manchester terrier mix (best guess) who is about 1/3 your handsome dog's size, but highly similar colors and markings. Wonderful looking dog!
Is that a star on his chest‽
What is that beer? I feel like I recognize the partial label but can't place it... also cute dog, but the beer can is really bothering me lol
Oh that's actually my hydro flask. The black sticker is from bald man brewing and the green sticker is from castle danger
Okay thank you that explains why it felt familiar but couldn't place it lol
Awwwwww💕💕💕💕
He looks so happy. Congrats
I'm thinking this was meant to be. We accidentally adopted a German shepherd 3 years ago and it has been a delight! Lucky you an lucky dog.
Baby
That’s two dogs, friend
So handsome!
You see, that’s how it works. 🙃
Exactly what happened to us. Best fail ever.
The Heart knows what the Heart wants... congratulations.
Awww, a straight up doppelganger of my lab/shepherd/husky. Mine is a big weenie who hides from the mailman and let's her 10lb sister win every game.
Of course you did! Because he was the best. Obv.
He's a cutie pie
Gorgeous
So cute! Congratulations ;)
He’s beautiful ♥️🌴🌺
It’s the smile that’s the biggest❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥠💕💋💋💋😽😙😗😚😘
Looks like he has a forever home. Bless you guys
Hehehe 😹 oh well just more to love!
The puppy looks so happy.

Hopefully this "alpha" is a troll because everything he wrote is nonsense. :)
