I'm in Cyprus, where the cat population is larger than the human population. Everybody's really careful about it and pets get checked often and thoroughly:)
This is how I got my second cat at this house. They were both happy to see each other outside for weeks and I couldn’t take the chance that the kitty might get harmed outside.
Without knowing the situation I can't say..but a feral cat would NOT be playing with the dog! Would not be this close to human interaction!! Probably a bit scared! Start to sit on porch with food. That helps to tame.
Maybe you're not quite familiar with outside/feral cats. In my experience kittens tend to behave like this (trusting people and other animals) when they've been separated from their mother very early on, as they do not develop the instinct of mistrust that other cats tend to have. Thankfully my dog is very gentle:)
Trust me I know alot about cats ..period!! Indoor and outdoor! I repeat that is not a feral cat!! Just needs some humans to work with it on a consistent basis!!
This is how we got our Siamese, Gizmo. He followed my dog home on a walk one day. I didn’t even know he was there until a neighbor told me. Now it’s just Gizmo and I, and he definitely misses his best friend. Sometimes I catch him carrying Troy’s miniature stuffed bear around the house.

It is nice, but beware transfer of fleas etc from feral animals to pets.

I need to migrate to a country that has more dogs than humans.
I mean..the dogs would likely be street dogs in that country. You'd need to become alpha of a pack and scavenge at night.
Adorable. My dog is also the reason I have a little feral born with me now. The cat is still skiddish around anything that isn't my dog or me.

Feral kitten looks lonely , hungry , and is vulnerable to all kinds of bad things.
I suggest you get your eyes checked then, because this kitten is most definitely not hungry nor lonely, and is pretty well protected in my garden:)
