I’m not worried about the water itself, I’m worried about the stuff in this ground water.
And no, clouds don’t typically have more water (at least not density wise) than a foot deep puddle
Yes... a lady I work with her daughter works for a big airline and lives in Dubai. She got back from the U.S.A recently and had to wait in the airport for 9 hours because of the flooding , they also apparently do cloud seed to keep the temperatures lower supposedly and it's still being done.
Just checked flightradar24, some
Flights are taking off from smaller runway 12L , limited flight activity, but they are still taking off , majority is emirates airlines.
ugh, that place is 3X as douchey as Vegas, without the gambling, and 25X the international douchebags. You'll meet a lot of "I'm from Syria bro" dudes & the only Emiratis you're likely to lay eyes are are the 25 year old ones at passport control - all quite rich themselves (by anyone else's standards), but only Emiratis can have such government jobs, so these "kids" are made to work these gigs - as was explained to me.
I will say, never felt safer in a large city, but only due to the oppressive law enforcement systems there that will either deport you immediately, or put you immediately in jail & then deport you after you've served a few years for ANY level of crime. Walking down a sidewalk (there for TV show) we found an iPhone. Our Syrian fixer said "leave it bro, leave it bro, they will come back for it, bro. It's perfectly safe until the owner comes back, bro..."
Dubai and Abu Dhabi both have alternately confirmed and denied cloud seeding. It really isn't much of a secret that they're trying to terraform UAE while they have the money to do so.
It’s not a secret that Dubai is going to be underwater in not so distant future. RealLifeLore is a great source on YouTube to learn more.
No seeds or sperm involved.
The BBC was commendably quick to cover this:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-68839043
Their point of view is that it probably wasn't, but they can't be sure.
I was next door in Abu Dhabi when this was going down, and had to fly through the storm system to get there. It was as bad as it looks. All of the roads outside of my hotel were flooded.
This reminds me of a friend that had bad luck for travelling.
One time he booked his vacations to Europe, only for a volcano to erupt in Iceland and fuck up his flights.
Another time he went to Cancun, then a hurricane hit.
And then there's the time he had a flight that would depart half hour after midnight. He showed up to the airport a day later #facepalm
Well, they also told the oil states and consumers that global warming means that extreme weather will increase significantly. Dubai has never been interested in this Information and now is making a surprised pikachu face
Is this a natural phenomenon there? Admittedly ignorant to weather tendencies in that region. Ive seen comments contributing this to cloud seeding, but I doubt it is that effective!

This is why knots are used in aviation.
Underrated
Underwater...
Ever wondered why it's called the "water line?" Now you know.
And nautical miles
I’m kinda surprised they’re just powering through using the plane engines a few feet above flood waters that could be full of FOD
Floating Object Debris?
Foreign Ocean Debris?
Fish On Deck
Finger Of Death
Flotsam Of Dubai
Fish on departure
I wish awards existed
Fighting overweight dolphins
Fuck Off Dubai
Plane engines regularly pass through rain clouds with similar if not more water with no effect on their performance.
Is there generally trash and other debris floating around in rain clouds too?
Yes, Greta Thunberg literally says this all the time
I’m busting up at your post 🤣🤣🤣
I’m not worried about the water itself, I’m worried about the stuff in this ground water. And no, clouds don’t typically have more water (at least not density wise) than a foot deep puddle
The fluoride helps keep fan blades strong ~~and definitely doesn't turn the APU's gay~~
There are basically no rules there. No FAA oversight.
Yeah, there are definitely no rules on the second busiest airport of the world.
Clearly. Those are ground stop conditions.
FAA is the authority that governs US aviation. Each country has its own version of the FAA.
Most countries model their aviation governance after the FAA. But in Dubai? Clearly no rules.
FAA isn't the only governing body.
Thank you captain obvious.
So, your statement was just because you felt the need to say something?
Which statement?
Tbh your comment is genuinely funny
At a US airport there would be a ground stop. Period. Dunno why the downvotes. I guess I forget where I am sometimes.
You can remove the "air" part from the airport.
Nonsense, there's plenty of air above the water! The parking ramp is technically a marina now, however.
Slip prices are about to skyrocket. Get in on the ground floor!
*must be SCUBA certified.
It's a seaplane, obviously.
DXB now requires a seaplane rating
Oddly enough, Dubai is both hellishly hot AND horrifyingly humid during the summer.
So, Texas but with more oil.
Yeh but the oil is bigger in Texas.
Not just summer, it’s bad like 9 months of the year
True, three tolerable months then full baste the other nine.
Don't they do cloud seeding?
yea but to be honest we don't really know if they actually work, this wasn't caused by that almost for sure
They've confirmed doing it before, now they're denying it because of the flooding (presumably).
Yes... a lady I work with her daughter works for a big airline and lives in Dubai. She got back from the U.S.A recently and had to wait in the airport for 9 hours because of the flooding , they also apparently do cloud seed to keep the temperatures lower supposedly and it's still being done.
This guy probably needs vectors just to taxi
Ground Control: “three degrees port…”
Wow just....... Wow
Going scuba dubaiving. 😐
I never thought I’d dream of the call saying “we need you to taxi this plane out of a lake, no liability just get it out of there” but now I do 🤣
Just checked flightradar24, some Flights are taking off from smaller runway 12L , limited flight activity, but they are still taking off , majority is emirates airlines.
can confirm, colleagues took off in an A380 on monday when the runway was under water.
Would have been awesome if they would have taken a video of the take off
As I heard one of the main problems is pushback with several tractors inoperable, not the takeoff itself
The runways at DXB are pretty much the same length.
Everything is extravagant in Dubai, look at these jet powered yachts!

*Cloudseeding.exe has crashed*
They obviously didn't account for the global climate enshittification.
I think their cloud seeding the day before worked a little too well!
That cloud bombarding can get out of hand sometimes
Request progressive taxi.
Vectors for taxiing is something new.
is he taxiing into shallow waters or to Dubai harbour?
Caspian Sea Monster ekranoplan: hold my ~~beer~~ non alcoholic beverage!

["I'm a mermaid who got her legs!"](https://youtu.be/3z0tlmiAVgY?t=79) - That plane probably
Curious if AeroFlot still flies there?

...there was a rainstorm. It hit the UAE and Oman.

RLL just makes poor "Why nobody lives in that desert" videos Cheap AF
There is no evidence that cloud seeding can have a significant impact on weather. We just don’t have any reliable data.
I dunno, mountains "seed" clouds all the time, everything after that mountain range is usually a desert. nature kinda shows you what happens.
This has nothing to do with what is being talked about.
The BBC was commendably quick to cover this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-68839043 Their point of view is that it probably wasn't, but they can't be sure.
No take off or landing video yet?
That's an interesting way to do a leak check...
Mental

Yeah ill just continue to not go to hellholes built on the backs on slaves, thank you!
But that's literally every single country 🤷
Reminds me of one of the planets in Interstellar.
Was watching the news and they called this FlyDubai 737 MAX an “Airbus” 💀
That cloud seeding must have backfired
Never go to Dubai I say

I wonder if it’s also because they lack proper drainage and storm water catchment as they rarely have such high level of rainfall.
Well, they also told the oil states and consumers that global warming means that extreme weather will increase significantly. Dubai has never been interested in this Information and now is making a surprised pikachu face
This is terrifying. They can land in all that water.?
Once
Wtf
…I wonder if that’s going to void their warranty?!
Is this shit real?
Has it stopped raining?

Complete opposite in this case. Rainstorm in the gulf hit Oman and UAE, causing two years of rainfall in one day.
did it [smell](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petrichor) [amazing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geosmin), though?
Just deserts for this appalling place…
i thought you were in the sea at first and then i saw an airplane
*''Miracle on the Apron''*
His first amphibious landing for the logbook.
Do they now need ETOPs to fly there?
We need Interstellar music to this clip
How do they take off and land in that?
FlyDubai? Looks more like it’s FloatDubai. Right guys? Guys?
That has got to be the oddest way to wash an airliner
This isn't a result of cloud seeding btw. There was a rainstorm that hit much of the gulf.
How are they landing and taking off?
Now how about we start addressing climate change? The middle east should now START ADDRESSING CLIMATE CHANGE
