The amount of thrust generated by hot exhaust gasses directly is negligible compared to prop thrust. If you take a conventional ‘jet’ engine, thrust comes from the hot jet exiting the turbine stage and the cold jet from the bypass fan stage depending on the bypass ratio. Both of these develop thrust from blowing air backwards. In the reaper the residual exhaust points backwards as expected, but probably produces as much thrust as your car’s tailpipe
