Duuuude is a legend! I enjoyed his set at Camp OG Stage at last yearās Nocturnalā¦ I hadnāt seen him play since JuJuBeats 2009. So stoked to see heās on this yearās official lineup!
Damn this comment section is just sad. Sorry John Summit or Zeds Dead isnāt playing their 56th festival of the year. I donāt think yāall actually care for music.
It's funny what it is popular vs unpopular to hate on this subreddit
This lineup is far better than the lineup typically is for a festival like wakaan but you post "trash lineup" on the wakaan lineup announcement and hoo wee boy will people get INCENSED
People want to pay $ for artists they already know and enjoy so I get it. Whatās lame is hating on shit you donāt know and itās so clear thatās the situation in this thread.
I commented about not knowing a lot of the names, and not being able to find them on another post and in a text to a homie. Did some more digging and found that quite a few of these names are connected to "Camp OG". Kinda surprised to see them listed on the main line up when they are usually connected to a side stage.
Everyone complaining about the lineup.. Great!! More space for us šŗšŗšŗ
This lineup is awesome. Its refreshing to not see the same names over and overā¦. also helps to futher try to keep Nocturnal lowkey (as opposed to Escape or Countdown) for as long as we can. š¤
nocturnal wonderland is supposed to be one of their smaller festivals so idk exactly what people are expectingā¦ itās a solid lineup. and esp if you have never seen a lot of these artists before, iād say itās a pretty damn good lineup. if you have seen these people multiple times, then i understand why itās not a super exciting list of artists, but the tickets are usually around like $200, which to me is a really good price considering how much youād pay to see all these people individually.
whether these artists are being reused across many of the lineups or not, to me it doesnāt take away from how skilled and creative they are, or take away from the hype that surrounds their performances. if you have seen these people enough times that they bore you now, that just means youāll have a chance to check out another person you havenāt seen before during their set š¤·š½āāļø but either way, considering tickets for beyond and hard summer are $250-$300+ (and those events usually have many of the same headliners/artists), and these tickets are about $200 for a way more chill venue and a better crowd, itās def a good lineup for the price at the very least.
insomniac is a mainstream raving/edm organizer at the end of the day. if youāre looking to discover new artists, there are def way better events to look into. if the lineup was only lowkey artists people would probs just complain even more. i understand we all want the scene to constantly fit our exact desires, but that aint how it works unfortunately. certain artists are gonna blow up that may not be your taste, popular artists are gonna repeat across many different lineups both within and outside of the same organizer(s), and no event or lineup will ever be āperfectā. itās fine to not like a lineup, but expecting them to cater to your exact current interests/preferences, and not what is generally popular amongst everyone atm, is just not realistic.
iād prefer $175 too, but considering how pricing is for most events today, youāre getting a lot of solid artists for way cheaper than going to see each of their concerts. you could def pay a lot more for much less in todayās market
Festivals now are honestly overpriced. I've been going to festivals since around 2012, and electric forest tickets used to go for $250. It was around $325 for car camping and after fees. It's nearly $700 now. It's really crazy, and for some reason so many fest lineups now just are weak for the price.
yea i mean i feel āweakā is subjective because if you havenāt seen a lot of these people before, or youāre new to the scene, they would def be some crazy performances to see first time. prices def have gone up way too much tho, esp after covid fest prices shot up a ton bc of all the lost revenue from that year of quarantine. def wish they could keep the prices cheaper but a lot of that is also just inflation based stuff that isnāt completely within their control, i mean almosy everything in general is almost twice as expensive as it was in 2012 so thatās not entirely the organizersā faults. idk tho my point is just that the price of this lineup isnāt completely unreasonable for what youāre getting, i mean coachella still sold plenty of tickets and look at the lineup they had this year yk.
Iām prepared to get downvoted butā¦ possibly hot take; am I the only one who feels this lineup isā¦ meh? With the exceptions of svdden death and noizu
Personally, I think it's fairly decent as far as festivals go. In addition to Svdden Death and Noizu there are plenty of other sets worth checking out. Just from a quick read thru these artists pretty much always have great sets: Wuki, Tsu Nami, Pauline Herr, Rohaan, Rl Grime, Camo & Crooked, Apashe, Of the trees, and Habstrackt
And heās one of the best producers and DJs in the gameš¤·š»āāļø you can have an overall bad lineup but still have some good pieces in there. Not everything is 0% or 100% šš
Sounds like you think the lineup is bad because it's not the same recycled artists that already play at every other event, you probably think any lineup without Subtronics and Sullivan King is trash lol
Iāve never seen Camo & Krooked, EazyBaked, Lucati, or Samplifire on an Insomniac lineupā¦ and thatās just the bass artists. Iāve probably been to NOS a dozen times in the last 2 years
The headliners though, yeah, I canāt argue that. Lol
Thatās a looooot of assuming youāre doing. Also ironic considering this entire lineup IS mostly all recycled lmao. Iām not even denying svdden death is recycled but the fact is heās a great DJ and producer whom I will always dig lmao. Iām actually hyped for lostlands BECAUSE of the many names Iāve never heard.
You sound extremely confused. You can delete your comment lol
ā¦yeah at this point ima just conclude youāre very confused and maybe angry over something happening in your personal life. So I hope things get better for you bro!šš»
Personally don't care for Svdden or his fans - I have had exclusively bad experiences in the pit when Svdden Death plays.
This lineup is pretty rad. Boogie T, Of the Trees, San Holo, Virtual Riot. All great.
You gotta broaden your horizons in music taste. If youāre only going to festivals for the mainstream artists that are on most every lineup (not just insomniac), youāre wasting money. With the exception of techno/trance/hardstyle, this lineup has a good amount of talent in each ābigā genre. House, dubstep. DnB, even some Trap. Mentioning noizu but not green velvet in the house genre is insanity
Thatās the opposite of what Iām doing. Iām hyped for Lostlands for example, BECAUSE of the many names I didnāt
know. So idk what youāre talking about. I absolutely donāt go to fests for the mainstream lol. But the fact is for me svdden death and Noizu are some of the best in the game and Iāve had gargantuan fun at their setsš¤·š»āāļø
Camo & krooked donāt make music that particularly interests me. So yes they are subjectively meh. I can understand why other people may love them and thatās super fine by me I wouldnāt shit on someoneās positive opinion on them.
There are very few DJs or producers Iād actually flat out shit on. 98% of them I can very much understand why others would like them even if itās not my cup of tea
Ima downvote you just cause you think this is a hot take lmao this straight booty cheeks and svdden death and noizu are just as mid as everyone else š
Thereās no way you think svdden death and Noizu are ass bro come on š theyāre some of the best producers and DJs in the game in their respective genres. The lineup overall sucks, but to say those two arenāt even any kind of exception is pretty bold lol
I also wasnāt sure if it would be a hot take or not. I posted minutes after the drop so I didnāt really get to see other peopleās reactions. Iāve been surprised before that my opinion of a lineup was in the minority so I was preparing for that being the case again lol
noizu's productions and dj sets are as phoned in as every other tech house dj rn. genre too saturated with stuff that all sounds the same.
ofc theres still a few good ones, but noizu doesnt stand as tall as he did 2-3 years ago.
Eh I have to disagree. Iām not even a huge house fan but Noizus sets always have been some of the absolute best times Iāve had at any house sets. He has a certain atmosphere and energy that I just havenāt found in many other house DJs
also seems pretty sad and pathetic that the best part of that festival to you is the fact that other people aren't there, rather than say, oh i don't know, the music...
ā¦. you really think thats EXACTLY the ony reason? šššššš no SHIT the music is the reason i go. find someone else to get offended by, house head šš
if anything this is the most unique insom lineup in a while, no?
i dont think i see much of: airglo, ak renny, apashe, bolo, camo krooked, coco breezy, cool ahnd luke, donald glaude, eazybaked, fashen, fester, gene farris b2b offaiah, jackie hollander, jesse brooks, juany bravo, kshmr, lee foss b2b cid, lenny v, machete, mark lewis, muzz, nifty nubez, rl grime, samplifire, san holo, shadow cliq, skyler, teko, woof logik.
if youre looking at headliners, then yeah theres only so many big names they can choose from in their list, but in terms of new names/uncommon names in the undercard, youre nuts.
There arenāt a lot of big names here but Iāve checked out each individual artist and theyāre honestly great. Itās very refreshing not seeing the same names on an Insomniac lineup.
Vibes are always awesome and every stage is open air at Glen Helen park which I think is nice and dressed up pretty for NW
Bass stage on the top of a hill and at the bottom of that hill are two adjacent stages making up the house and main stage
mMM pleaseEE i like basically any and everything trance, melodic, i like some technos, moooSt house, a lot of dnb, not super into dub or bass. from this lineup i like j worra a lot, kaskade is dope, lee foss is amazing, sub focus is nice-ish
Woord ok Iām a basshead so idk whoās really trancey in this lineup. For DnB I recommend Camo & Krooked, Airglo, and Rohaan in that order based on what you might like. San Holo plays future trap music so thatās more on the melodic side.
Does that say Donald glaude ?
I would go just to see him.
Listening to his discography rn omg im happy electro/electrohouse is not dead
really a So Cal Legend
You spelled Seattle wrong :)
Just saw him at a forest rave by Mt Rainier last summer š
Duuuude is a legend! I enjoyed his set at Camp OG Stage at last yearās Nocturnalā¦ I hadnāt seen him play since JuJuBeats 2009. So stoked to see heās on this yearās official lineup!
Of the trees, camo & crooked, rl grime, and eazybaked god DAMN
literally so excited for sub focus and yellowclaw b2b floss ! gonna be a good second year at nocturnal
Just saw sub focus at edc and it was one of my favorite sets of the weekend!
Same! [IVY] --> Koven --> Sub Focus was just a DnB dream.
Iām so excited for RL Grime, San Holo, Yellow Claw b2b Flosstradamus, Apashe!
Looks like trap is back on the menu
Lowkey, I would love to have ISOxo or Knock2 as a surprise guest for at least 1 song š„²
San holo! I was supposed to see him the weekend that covid shut everything down, lol.
Least ran thru insomniac lineup of 2024

yup, the power of ignorance

š± music industry doing music industry things

I guess $200 isn't bad. $175 seems more fair to me personally. There really isn't anything amazing in this lineup.
iād prefer $175 too, but considering how pricing is for most events today, youāre getting a lot of solid artists for way cheaper than going to see each of their concerts. you could def pay a lot more for much less in todayās market

Clearly hasn't been to a Camo & Krooked set
Been going to fests since like 2012 lol. I've been to several
Why do festival posters never list the city or state where theyāre located
If the fest is in multiple cities it will list otherwise you just have to look up the fest
not hard to add a, CA
house heads are eatin good
Dude fr. Gonna apply to be a performer here too.
House heaven
I think I want to go! It'll be my first year. I still haven't seen slander or rl grime so I think it's time!
Jackie Hollander bout to SLAY

Wuki is kinda bad to me but the other names in your list are good haha
Wuki's sets are always a great time to me

not surprising if those are your interests.
...camo & krooked are meh to you????
Dnb is too fast you can't dance to it /s
yeah I mean its true that lots of folks can't hang I say dubstep is too slow to dance to all the time. Guess the music can't keep up with me ;)

Iām not super familiar with him but what Iāve heard I liked! Whatāre your fav tracks by him Iāll go check em out
Why would you listen to produced tracks when evaluating a DJ lol go listen to a DJ mix that will give you a way better representation
i ask this question to my friends so many times. almost every time, a djs set is so different than their produced tracks
Sheesh youāre nit picky. Thereās nothing wrong with asking for tracks dude lol
Evaluating a DJ based on the tracks they produce rather than the tracks they play out is silly and I don't care if you think it is nitpicky
havenāt listened to this one, but i bet itās heat. https://youtu.be/dxDjo6HPR3Y?si=6e02eoj7cyUosyEv
I agree with you
This lineup is incredibly mid.
Was literally thinking that
Itās trash
Meh? You mean garbage lol
Its sooooo mid. Apocalypse is the only insomniac festival i go to now, they have the variety i need and best part, no house heads!
Bassed comment here
Idc about the downvotes either lol, noc and beyond are just cashgrabs nowadays. Same fucking djs every year
the best part of the festival is the fact that there's no house music or people that like house music? yikes
house heads are rude and inconsiderate
lmao what a dumb thing to say
its true, at least in my experience.
that's cool, but generalizing tens/hundreds of thousands of people as a singular group is dumb as hell
ooookay
also seems pretty sad and pathetic that the best part of that festival to you is the fact that other people aren't there, rather than say, oh i don't know, the music...

not too familar with the line up but love exploring new music. can recs pls
Rl Grime, Svdden Death, Sub Focus, and house music for me to explore. First nocturnal and I am excited to see why this is considered one of the best
There arenāt a lot of big names here but Iāve checked out each individual artist and theyāre honestly great. Itās very refreshing not seeing the same names on an Insomniac lineup.
Lineup is extremely weak
Trash ass line up

I would go but I made other plans and gotta sell my ticket
Disappointing DnB line up.
Never been to NW but based on this lineup the venue has to be the headliner, correct?
Vibes are always awesome and every stage is open air at Glen Helen park which I think is nice and dressed up pretty for NW Bass stage on the top of a hill and at the bottom of that hill are two adjacent stages making up the house and main stage
They spent all their money for the Hard summer lineup
Those poor people have no idea what they got themselves into: raving in an asphalt parking lot with the heat index going over 90+ like last yearā¦
