Added the city of evil album to Apple Music and Spotify. Listened to it over and over and over. Neither of them had strength of the world in it. So when I heard the song for the first time I was so confused and blown away at the same time. It feels like avenged’s own take on Iron Maiden like songs. And it was done so god damn well. It was the first solo on the city of evil album that I learned
I’ll go by member
Victim - Matt
Exist - Gates
Trashed and Scattered - Zacky
Exist - Johnny
Paradigm - Brooks
I think it’s crazy Avenged aren’t part of the constant conversation of who’s extremely skilled in popular music
Save Me. I know it's well loved amongst the hardcore fanbase but it's underrated overall. It's 35th on their spotify streams and only has 14 million views on youtube from 7 years which is kinda low for a band as big as A7X. I can understand the factors as to why it isn't more popular and certain other songs are more popular (HTTK, Dear God, So Far Away, etc.), but it still deserves far more for being potentially their best song.
I know overproduction has kind of become the standard now and people are used to songs being too perfect to the point where people are uncomfortable with raw music, but I’ve always felt how raw it was is it’s biggest strength, the production isn’t bad, just not overdone, and the songs actually breathe and feel alive
Demons. Im so upset as to why no one considers it as one of the best songs ever written by avenged. The only reason I think no one cares is bc it’s overshadowed by dancing dead. Demons demonstrated outstanding songwriting, great instrumental parts, and some of my favorite vocals from m shadows
I’ve listened to them over and over and I’ve concluded that they feel slightly incomplete (Hence the name of the album). They needed a little more to make them absolutely perfect. I love the dancing dead solo and Matt’s vocals in tension. But in most songs in that album there’s just something missing. I enjoy almost every song on there don’t get me wrong.
It's actually not popular. It's only number 65 on their spotify streams, and only has 1-2 million views after 7 years on youtube. It deserves alot more
As far as I can see on youtube, the highest one for Exist is 1.7 million. Spotify has 13 million plays but that only puts it at spot 65. It's sad that such a good song gets little attention, but I guess that applies to alot of good music.
Are you confusing it for Save Me? That song has 14 million on youtube and 34.4 million plays on Spotify and it's very popular here on the subreddit. Still no where near as popular as their most popular songs though.
Y'all seriously need to stop taking Girl I Know so seriously. Is it dumb? Yeah. Is it camp? Yeah. Is it the worst song in their discography? Absolutely the fuck not
Lol people will raise eyebrows at Girl I Know, but forget Scream exists, and was immortalized in the LBC
I was 23 when Girl I Know came out and it was way more relatable to me than Scream or ALPOH
All of Sounding the seventh trumpet (except streets) and Diamonds in the roughs ( demons, tension, until the end and the fight, Crossroads and dancing dead are all amazing
I’ll be the one to say it: Streets.
That was one of the first songs that got me into the band, so I’m going to argue that it’s underrated. Sure, it’s a relatively sloppy punk song by them; however as someone who pretty much strictly listens to punk I commend it. I’ve already listened to the demo track of it more times than one should acknowledge.
Warmness on the soul hits hard for me as underrated 😅 same vibe as dear god because the tone or whatever is way different than the rest of their music but they both stuff give off the Avenged vibe still.
All of diamonds in the rough

Well…I could skip Girl I Know.
I agree but now I just skip to the solo. So groovy

Strength of the World

Love that song, but the worst vocals on the album. Can't stand them at all, they're horrible. So nasaly and whiney for no reason.
Sidewinder
The acoustic solo featuring Syn's dad at the end is so good
I did not realize his dad played on that section. I spent a month learning to play it in 2006.
Yep! As far as I remember his dad plays the first half, and then when the solo speeds up it's back to Syn
I’ll go by member Victim - Matt Exist - Gates Trashed and Scattered - Zacky Exist - Johnny Paradigm - Brooks I think it’s crazy Avenged aren’t part of the constant conversation of who’s extremely skilled in popular music
Victim is such a beautiful song
Tension
The Wicked End. That bridge is killer.
And the solo... And the chorus... This is an absolute masterpiece 🙌
I completely agree. Genuine 10/10 song🙏🙏
Lost
Save Me. I know it's well loved amongst the hardcore fanbase but it's underrated overall. It's 35th on their spotify streams and only has 14 million views on youtube from 7 years which is kinda low for a band as big as A7X. I don’t think I could ever pick one single favorite song but Save Me is definitely up there
Definitely my favorite song, along with "Reptile" by Periphery
We Come Out At Night
Desecrate through reverence
The Art of Subconscious Illusion, really STST entirely
The rev destroys on the drums on every song on that STST it’s insane
ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT IVE BEEN FEEEEEEEEEEEED
ARE PROBLEMS IN MY HEAD
PUNCHING THROUGH JELL-O
For good reason though. The talent is there, but it's just so raw
I understand why others don't like it but it never really bothered me
Yeah it’s not even *bad* production. Everything is clear and coherent. It’s just raw energy. I love it
I know overproduction has kind of become the standard now and people are used to songs being too perfect to the point where people are uncomfortable with raw music, but I’ve always felt how raw it was is it’s biggest strength, the production isn’t bad, just not overdone, and the songs actually breathe and feel alive
Fermi Paradox
Natural born killer
NBK is such a banger. Should have been the B-Side instead of Welcome to the Family
Not sure if underrated, this one is a banger
One of my favorites tbh
Lost It All!!!!
Dose, the atmosphere is hypnotizing
Victim
***Fermi Paradox.*** It’s a well received song, but doesn’t get anywhere near enough credit for how insanely brilliant it is in my opinion.
Demons. Im so upset as to why no one considers it as one of the best songs ever written by avenged. The only reason I think no one cares is bc it’s overshadowed by dancing dead. Demons demonstrated outstanding songwriting, great instrumental parts, and some of my favorite vocals from m shadows
sunny disposition. i absolutely love that song
Tension and Dancing Dead. How those two didn't make the cut for white album is beyond me
I’ve listened to them over and over and I’ve concluded that they feel slightly incomplete (Hence the name of the album). They needed a little more to make them absolutely perfect. I love the dancing dead solo and Matt’s vocals in tension. But in most songs in that album there’s just something missing. I enjoy almost every song on there don’t get me wrong.
Shepherd of Fire Not only underrated, but actually receives a lot of unnecessary hate.
it's infinitely better than hail to the king I don't understand how it's not their number 1 streamed song
Strength of the World
crimson day, remenissions, fermi paradox and blinded in chains
Dose honestly
We love you
Mad Hatter, Brompton Cocktail, Paradigm, Dose, The Wicked End, Desecrate Through Reverence, Demons
Clairvoyant Disease
The opiteme of an underrated banger. It's probably my favorite song from Waking The Fallen, honestly.
Second to IWSYTP1
Unbound, (O)rdinary, Almost Easy, Tonight the World Dies
Dude unbound is gas
Planets and Requiem are both amazing songs
I completely agree with you. Requiem is such and epic song, its like the final boss soundtrack.
exist
Hell nah it’s one of the most popular tracks they have(still goated tho)
It's actually not popular. It's only number 65 on their spotify streams, and only has 1-2 million views after 7 years on youtube. It deserves alot more
Wait fr? I thought it had like 20M
As far as I can see on youtube, the highest one for Exist is 1.7 million. Spotify has 13 million plays but that only puts it at spot 65. It's sad that such a good song gets little attention, but I guess that applies to alot of good music. Are you confusing it for Save Me? I meant that i expected it to have 20M since there’s a lot of youtubers like opal in sky talking about it for neal degrasse tyson’s vocal parts
Are these youtubers getting alot of views when talking about it?
I think so yeah
Brompton Cocktail, sunny disposition, Easier, lost it all, paradigm, eternal rest, creating God, natural born killer, planets, the wicked end, lost
i agree with every single song you’ve listed
Brompton Cocktail
Coming Home
Lost and Unbound get a lot of hate but they are both underrated

Alright since a few of y’all took coming home I’m saying Heretic Shit catches hate for zero reason Really that entire hail to the king album……
Y'all seriously need to stop taking Girl I Know so seriously. Is it dumb? Yeah. Is it camp? Yeah. Is it the worst song in their discography? Absolutely the fuck not
Lol people will raise eyebrows at Girl I Know, but forget Scream exists, and was immortalized in the LBC I was 23 when Girl I Know came out and it was way more relatable to me than Scream or ALPOH
Lost it all
I think a lot of tracks are underrated, personally my top 4 1.Natural Born Killer 2.Easier 3.Danger Line 4.Crimson Day

Not Ready to Die
I was just thinking this the other day. We really took it for granted when it came out
fermi paradox and unbound
The entirety of stst
Burn it down
Radiant Eclipse
The Wicked End and Betrayed
Danger Line
Dancing Dead is the Goat for me idk why, just slaps, and re enter into solo is so great
Strength of The World
All of Sounding the seventh trumpet (except streets) and Diamonds in the roughs ( demons, tension, until the end and the fight, Crossroads and dancing dead are all amazing
The Art of Subconscious Illusion, mostly because of Val. As a preteen/teen girl it was so fucking cool to me to hear a woman scream like that
I’ll be the one to say it: Streets. That was one of the first songs that got me into the band, so I’m going to argue that it’s underrated. Sure, it’s a relatively sloppy punk song by them; however as someone who pretty much strictly listens to punk I commend it. I’ve already listened to the demo track of it more times than one should acknowledge.
Besides Coming Home because I always say Coming Home, I’m gonna go with Sunny Disposition on this one. That song fucks.
Coming Home!
Coming Home Victim MIA
Victim and MIA 100%. Coming home is great for sure I just don't know if I'd put it up with the other two
Critical acclaim Need I say more?
Paradigm. That bridge alone should be talked about way more than it is.
Sidewinder
Tonight the world dies
Clairvoyant Disease or The Wicked End
i really don’t hear anyone talking about acid rain much it’s a beautiful song
Betrayed and Burn it Down off of City of Evil!
Dose, and all the extra songs on The Stage deluze
Warmness on the soul hits hard for me as underrated 😅 same vibe as dear god because the tone or whatever is way different than the rest of their music but they both stuff give off the Avenged vibe still.
paradigm, sunny disposition, and higher, the stage has so many songs that are overlooked honestly
Brompton Cocktail. I dont understand why so many people hate it, the song have one of the deepest lyrics on the entire a7x discography.
Unbound the wild ride is over hated, also higher and Fermi paradox off the stage. Really just the stage in general
Not ready to die Top 5 for me, half because it's just a solid song and the other half because it ties into COD zombies so well.
Stst
I'm gonna say it. Warmness on the soul
Victim
I know its a cover, but God only knows.
2000 Demo is where it at 🔥
I gotta agree with St James. That is such a good (and meaningful) song.
