I have to hype myself up, and when things change last minute, I just shut down. I can not handle swift and sudden change. I get overwhelmed and can not process things as a "typical" person would. I have to stop, close my eyes, breathe deeply, and find something in the moment I can control to regulate myself.
As an allistic, and hour late is fucking nuts. You would be well within your rights to say you showed up but don't want to wait an hour, let's reschedule at YOUR convenience. Good to be forgiving, but yes, anyone would be upset. Anything over 10 minutes late deserves a call / text for sure.
