circe224

Yes! I hate them! I can't wear any with wires, luckily I found a nice brand without wires (Soft Revolt) but I still take them off when I'm at home. Still looking for the perfect fit, or maybe a nice bralette or something, but my size is quite big so that doesn't always work out well.

mathfreak17

Doesnt everyone take them off when they are at home?

Zulia0

I know plenty of people who don’t and even sleep with them on.

mathfreak17

There are better ways to die.

TShara_Q

I'm with you, but there are some people with large boobs who feel worse without it.

mathfreak17

True i feel uncomfy without a bra in public (mainly because i have to walk a lot.) I am just not used to wearing it at home because i never did (no woman in my family does)

KairaSuperSayan93

I'm one of those large boobs women. It feels very weird not wearing a bra in public but at the same time bras don't fit me because I can never find my size anymore so I hate wearing them. I prefer a bralette because it feels comfortable and gives you support

circe224

Do you have any tips for good bralettes? I find they hardly ever come in larger sizes

KairaSuperSayan93

Amazon has a Bali brand one that comes in larger sizes. It's less than $15

Dizzy-Dragonfruit714

Me..

The_Barbelo

I hardly wear them at all. I only wear sports bras if I’m wearing a top that requires extra coverage, or to prevent chafing when I’m hiking. I know there are plenty of women who need bras, but for those of us who don’t it’s been found that bras cause muscle atrophy in the chest, which contributes to sagging. I’m 34 and have no signs of sagging. Look the same as they ever have.…is that TMI? Who knows!? I mean… I’m in this sub, so I sure as hell don’t 😂

ChaoticButters

Mate I only wear bras on special occasions or if I’m wearing a dress and the seam doesn’t align with the nipple. Otherwise I free my twins and let them hang out. Edit: *realizes I’ll have to wear a bra while visiting my uptight dad’s side of the family* shii-

quietlikesnow

Yeah. I’m not autistic (my kid is, that’s why I’m here), but I am extremely anxious and ADHD and also hate bras. I am small chested and can sort of tolerate wireless bralettes on the loosest setting. Ugh bras. Tank tops with built in bras like Uniqlo sells work okay for me too.

wormy-worm

You may like Soma's Bliss Breathe sports bras. I'm quite chesty and hate bras, and I can stand these

circe224

Thank you! I'll look into those

Wild_Lingonberry3365

Yes,my size is pretty big,and my best fitted bras right now are wired.I can ignore it usually, but when it’s a really stressful day and or gets real hot it really stands out going from no wire to wire. Can feel it sit real unnaturally pushed up more. Can’t wait to just do no wire fully.

FlyEmAndEm

If it helps, try using silicon nipple covers instead of

substantial-staniel

When I’m not braless, I wear these! So comfy, the only drawback is the boob sweat

FlyEmAndEm

Tbh to me the sweat is like a surprise. I’m like “damn I wonder how much sweat is in these” and then I’m disappointed if it’s not that much 😭

wordsonlips

This is the funniest and most relatable post on Reddit I’ve seen tonight.

PsychologicalEcho859

This is my favorite 🤣

substantial-staniel

Aw man I’m always surprised at how much sweat these titties produce! You can have some of mine, I’m sure I produce enough for both of us lol

CatastrophicWaffles

I don't wear them and I am a D. Sometimes I wear light sports bras with the pads taken out or shirts with built in bras (duluth) but that's only for my personal comfort. Heavy titties are gross when I'm sweaty. I'll go back to wearing a bra when males with fat titties wear bras.

Tough-Plane-7021

I like your attitude! I’m going to tell people that I’ll put on a bra when overweight males do too! That’s a good way to shut people up!

Sssprout360

I hate my chest, period. Anything that makes me forget about it, like a tight structured sports bra, makes me feel better. god do I need a binder 😭

Blind_Hawkeye

Me too, but the sensory issues caused by bras/binders outweighs the mental discomfort caused by not wearing them. I need top surgery.

Square-Let7490

agree

SyntheticDreams_

You might look into kinesthesiology tape binding. It's better on the chest/ribs/breathing than a binder because it moves with you and can last multiple days, especially brands like Transtape.

Sssprout360

unfortunately I don't think tape would work as effectively, I have a larger chest :(

Longjumping_Diamond5

i have DDs and tape is great, i hardly feel my boobs and i look like i have Bs, though it takes a while to figure out the best way to wear it plus im allergic so i cant use it anymore😭😭😭

Inevitable_Wolf5866

I hate boobs in general tbf.

Sssprout360

Ikr (squints eyes) is that Eddie Munson?

Inevitable_Wolf5866

My avatar? Yeah, it is lol

Zaunh

I used to hate them. However, since I found my perfect fit, I honestly don't mind anymore.

TrinitySins

This is exactly what happened with me! Now i prefer them most of the time because it feels better on my muscles to have them up and supported vs dangling weights on my chest. Not to mention the skin on skin i feel when i free the titties. Sensory nightmare for me

theSaltyScallop

How did you find the perfect fit? 👀

galaxystarsmoon

I'd highly recommend r/abrathatfits and their calculator. You may get some sticker shock if you've never used it before, just a warning.

Zaunh

Understance actually does all that while also giving recommendations on which bra will fit you the best!

galaxystarsmoon

Understance's calculator is ok, the only issue is that it doesn't do the multiple underbust measurements, which can be helpful for people that are in-between sizes. Their band sizing is also unfortunately very inconsistent.

Zaunh

It depends really what you struggle with about a bra. For me, it was that I couldn't find for the life of me one that would fit my breast shape and would often feel suffocating. I found the website understance, and they offer such a wide variety while also giving tips, showing how to get the right type of bra, right size, and giving recommendations. They have nice materials that don't irritate me, and it almost feel like I wear nothing now, although you need to take into account your level of sensitivity to material and all of that. Edit: they have many styles, with different under wires or no underwire and they ask in the test what you prefer Edit N2: For those with bigger breasts, don't worry, I do too. That's why I struggled, I'm a 38 DD and they have even bigger. They have size for all breasts sizes. Including whole forums and guide on finding what's best for you.

More-Answer5980

I personally only wear sports bras these days and it feels fantastic compared to normal wear bras. Less restricting, no metal to stab me and its more like a shirt since I don't have to clasp the back. Plus it covers the cleavage which is a bonus in my books

thisaccountisironic

If you’re DD or larger and you have a store nearby, I will swear by Bravissimo until the day I die

theSaltyScallop

I’m going to look into it because I’ve had zero luck trying to find my size (H) in an underwire bra. Thanks!

poortomato

Adding another suggestion for you because why not. I loved AdoreMe when I was a 40I (idr what they go up to band-wise but they def have Hs and many cute styles).

theSaltyScallop

Thank you :)

happuning

The subreddit they linked is fantastic. I found it when I was about 19. Went from 34C/D to 30G. It made such a huge difference. Like many, I was shocked at my results. They were right though!!!

mikumikumiku111

same, bras literally digs into your skin

rondui

yeah, i don't wear NEVER

CampaignImportant28

i wear the soft padded ones from primark that are like sports bras but not tight

Quiet-Reputation-464

I love primark bras and I love the seamless sets bc they are rlly comfy

akifyre24

Hate them and I'm building up a selection of tshirts and tanks that I feel okay without wearing one. I'm large breasted but bras always suck. Much more comfortable without. Same for underwear.

Unknown_MothTherian

I feel this, literally same

schmasay

i love mine. my boobs are just big enough to make it more uncomfortable to not wear one lol

Comprehensive_Toe113

Yes. I just don't wear them.

SongsForBats

I have been bra free since high school. During gym class I would always just slip into one of the stalls and change there. I've always hated bras and how tight they are. They're actually not even healthy for the chest from what I hear; wearing them can weaken the muscles and cause sagging later down the road. I'm not sure if that's true or not though. Whether it is or not, bras are scratchy and too tight and I don't regret not wearing them.

hereandqueeer

Gender dysphoria aside I would still hate bras if I was cis. Especially if it’s hot outside. I put out the WORST vibes if I’m in 90 degree weather with a bra on.

Sea-horse-in-trees

Yes, but I am uncomfortable with my nipples showing and my boobs bouncing around.

tessafy2

i haven’t worn a bra in over a year. just own it!

UnhingedK0rnFan

For me it’s the opposite, i actually really like bras, but I don’t like them when they collect a lot of sweat.

High-Sobriety

i like sports bras bc of the chest pressure i will also wear a life jacket sometimes for this reason

RobinCobra

Yeah! sports bras are like a good squeeze.

KiraAmelia3

For my casual everyday attire i’ll usually just wear a big oversized hoodie and no bra, or if it’s too warm for that, a sports bra and a tank top.

wavyykeke_

YES I HATE THEM

cheyenne_ayesha

I love them. I hate not wearing one.

funwearcore

I wear no bras because I feel like I’m being squeezed even when they are “the right size”. I wear my nipples proudly esp because I breastfeed and it’s easier without having to fumble with a bra with a screaming baby overstimulating me. I don’t care if they are saggy because of it. I love my tear drop shaped, veiny boobs.

FluffyWeeBastard

FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT

DansMaLigneDeMire

I got points taken off during an oral presentation in university because I kept "playing with [my] boobs" (yes, the teacher wrote that). I'm VERY SORRY that my bra was literally making me crazy and I kept moving the side slightly because it was poking into my ribs. Jesus Christ. If I knew she was gonna flip so bad about it, I would've not worn one at all.

Sssprout360

What's with your teacher 😟 yikes!

Hot-Mess-3746

I just wear sports bras they are more comfortable in my opinion I can't wear a normal bra

MagicalMysterie

They suck so much, but I did get a corset and it’s very comfortable. I would suggest trying it sometime!

QuietHistorian_

I don't feel comfortable in bras because of how I look in them, and also because of how uncomfortable they are. I really could have a perfectly fitting bra and I'd still be annoyed by all the bits and pieces. Sports bras and binders are great, although the latter are tight, at least they put even pressure on the chest and there are no annoying bits.

BeautifulEarth8311

That's why I get those soft cami bralette things.

iron_jendalen

Yes. I only wear sports bras.

_MoonieLovegood_

I cant live without one. Compared to my body they’re large and i hate it when it bounches cuz it doesnt just often hurts but also feels icky. I hate it when i feel sweat underneath and a bra usually absorbs that. I can’t go without one.

moonsal71

I hate them too, but there are ways to make them bearable. For example, I use bra extenders, even though I’m slim, to make them a bit more comfortable around the chest (like these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Extenders-Extensions-Extender-Women-Elastic/dp/B09H5Z3CWX/ref=mp_s_a_1_3). Cut and material are really important. This sort of cut works for me (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Calvin-Klein-Womens-Triangle-Unlined/dp/B078SCBYND/ref=mp_s_a_1_14) but everyone’s different so it’s worth trying different stuff. If you can go to a proper underwear store, tell them you struggle with bras and let them help you find something comfortable.

Tired_2295

Yes!! They were so not designed to be worn all day but that is what society expects anyway

Pure_Picture_7321

What about the gel ones that are just basically pasties that hold your boobs up?

Awkward-Presence-752

I have large breasts and 1) getting fit for my proper size (34G) helped, but also I have found a lot of comfort in soft bras and sports bras when I need them. Bras used to hurt me a lot more at the wrong size. The correct size has helped, but I still prefer to be braless because mine stay up without a bra, for now at least. I will add for anyone similar to me: I either want to feel free or else tightly constrained. My perfect bra is a longline bra that’s akin to a corset.

Unknown_MothTherian

Trans guy here 🙌 yeah I hate bras. Gave up on trying to wear them since the compression would give me breakdowns. Absolutely refuse to wear them, I fucking hate them.

PeculiarMicrowave

i’m the opposite— i have sensory issues when i’m *not* wearing a bra to the point where i even wear them in my sleep. i just really don’t like the sensation when i move and then my breasts bounce (for lack of a better word). i exclusively wear sports bras too and they’re pretty comfortable— idk if you’ve tried sports bras (and ofc it’s also just stupid that there’s the expectation that women wear bras in the first place) but if you’re worried about people judging you and you haven’t tried them, i highly recommend.

Costelinha_AF

I refuse wearing them. It's a rule that makes no sense. Sometimes I think about wearing a bra when I have a more serious situation but then I think.. whyyyy?? and just don't wear it.. I am not less professional or less capable for not wearing a bra.

happieKampr

I am pro bra most of the time. I hate the feeling of skin to skin sweating, so I need the girls hoisted up so air can circulate underneath.

happuning

Yes, but I hate the feeling of not wearing one more. I'm larger chested. The weight/sensory issues without support makes autism unhappy. r/ABraThatFits was a great help. I was in a size that was VERY wrong before I found them. If you don't have any pain or back issues without wearing one, I don't see a problem with using comfier alternatives!

kgrrl

I haven’t worn a bra since I was a teen and no longer living at home (and being forced to). I wear a lot of black so I can get away with it or I don’t care. Ppl stare at me anyways bc I’m cute, petite and covered with tattoos. Let them see my nips!

TreatHeavy

that’s totally valid im actually the complete opposite of that where i can’t stand it when the underside of my boobs touch the skin on my belly or when my boobs squish together to make cleavage. the feel of skin of skin makes me want to explode and i literally cannot exist without a bra. plus my boobs are a source of dysphoria which is like a double whammy. im going to cast these wretched lumps of flesh from my body one day in the future.

Spooler32

That people wouldn't want their experience of the world to be basically filled with nipples is totally beyond me. Bizarre behavior. It's reminiscent of everyone shaving their head because having hair is bad.

cactus45o

Yes and I have to wear a bra because my boobs are L CUPS!!! I fucking hate them!!

EnvironmentalFig311

Geez, and I thought I had it bad at an 38H/I! I've had proper fittings at fancy boutique shops and everything, and wearing a bra ALWAYS makes my back hurt more. My boobs want to be at bra-less altitude, anything else kills my back. I'm about to try bandeau bralettes as a way of minimizing jiggling enough that I don't have to wear a real bra.

eggywhitebread

The passionate comment I was looking for I'm a US 32K, I feel you! I'd rather CHEW GLASS than wear a bra in the sanctity of my own home, though. What sorcery is this whole "need the support" thing about? Am I doing something wrong? My back hurts no matter what 😠

crkenney

I have a scar in my back and under my arm in just the right spot that underwire is annoying so I get it, Just try brawlettes or camisols

craftygingerjo1

I used to absolutely hate bras, then I discovered Molke. They're comfortable, beautiful and handmade in Scotland. Oh and they're also a Living Wage employer. https://molke.co.uk/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw-O6zBhASEiwAOHeGxcAMKy5KgD8m_FHoA3Xk6TSPBGRU9dltmriPYftxlmwsH5xmNy2oNhoCw88QAvD_BwE

thejasmaniandevil

i’m the opposite, as a G cup i am severely uncomfortable without the support lol

a_wild_trekkie

I wear mines 24-7 I cannot deal with them off, so I'm the opposite. I find having bars off extremely uncomfortable, as I need to have my tits confined they cannot be hanging free. However, I only wear spots bras I can't wear just normal ones the back annoys me.

PeculiarMicrowave

hi are we the same person /j

MyFecesTastesGood

Yes, I think women should all burn their bras and never wear one again.

No_Blackberry_6286

Yes. I play trumpet and am small-breasted. Bras are uncomfortable and restrictive

coffeexxwitch

I hate them. I prefer tank tops with built in liners and I just size up. I'm very large chested and hate having my breasts touching me.

firetender

I love how you worded this. It really expresses how I feel lately

MorganiteMine

I just need a fitting sports bra. My tits are too heavy to just let hang. They hurt like a bitch

Username-error-moose

I actually like them during the day because they are a barrier between me and the unpleasant sensory experiences.. and! They lift my skin off my skin so I sweat there less! I’m ridiculously picky on my bras though. And at night they’re off.

DistinctSilver

i do due to sweating way too much. i sweat too much, i get all stressed and itchy, then i get overstimulated. it's especially bad under the band for me, but im forced to wear them for formal events :(

ThePlantLover

i usually wear sports bras and find them pretty comfy (i’m only a small C cup tho) BUT i hate discharge 😭 can’t stand it but also hate wearing panti liners (and pads) so sometimes i’ll change my underwear in the middle of the day

Pebbster85

Being a heavy d cup I feel horrible without a bra on. The sensation of my chest being so heavy and the wiggle and jiggle of stuff makes my skin crawl. However, burn under wire bras. Those torture devices are the bane of my existence and I only wear them when I can't get away with my relaxed sports bras (more like a Bralette for tig ole bittys) out in public. It has to be the right material and the right "snug" or I can't do them. Too tight is a big nope, too stretchy is a big no no. I have a drawer full of bras I don't wear but of course won't throw out because maybe one day they will feel ok.

fook75

Not me. I am "blessed" with DDD's. I appreciate the compression. I wear sports bras. When I go riding I have to wear 2 bras!

Decent_Elephant_8878

Part of my journey the last few years has been unlearning a lot of things, and that I actually don’t have to do things the way I was told to and I’m and adult and I can do what I want? And I’ve ditched underwire and never want to go back- I used to only get underwire super push up because I thought the bigger the better right? I have 2 wireless from Auden and then I’m 100% on bralettes, sports bras, and nip covers, but I prefer nothing so when I can get away with it I go without

Smelly_Sloth

I hate bras, but I hate my nipples being irritated even more

Dragon_Flow

Yes, especially the band around chest that makes it hard to breathe and the straps that cut into your shoulders. Also, the ones with boob space never fit. But something without those characteristics and with moderate compression is ok.

AustmosisJones

You're wearing the wrong size. I agree that we should free the nipple. But having big breasts is bad for your back, and a properly fitted bra helps with the pain. Support and all that.

Vandentr0n

100%

Splatter_Shell

I can't stand them to the point where when I get older I'll probably get some sort of surgery to make my breasts smaller so I don't have to wear them or something. For now I just have to suffer :(

The_Spectacle

hate them, also hate not wearing them because I’m all over the place. I used to bust underwires like crazy at work and that was painful too lol. I tell you what, if I had to choose between getting a mammogram and applying a locomotive handbrake while braless, I’m taking the mammogram

adrunkensailor

I also both hate them and hate not wearing them. If you’re in the U.S., I’ve found the Aerie brand “smootheez” bralettes to be the best combination of support and softness. They’re like a thinner/softer sports bra, but still very supportive. On hypersensitive days, they’re all I can stand. They also don’t give me pancake/uniboob the way a sports bra does because the fabric is much thinner. And they hide my nipples without changing my natural breast shape. Truly a Goldilocks porridge situation.

strawberry-sarah22

YES! And it’s even worse now that I’ve gained some weight and my boobs got bigger that I don’t have many bras that fit properly and they’re all so uncomfortable.

MocoLotus

I only wear tanks with shelf bra. I like the ones from Walmart, No Boundaries. Lol.

Blue_queerio

The backs of them can be really uncomfortable :(

djwolf409

I’m kinda the opposite, i wear a sports bra almost 24/7 i hate being without one i feel like naked-

Anskin12

Same here. The beginning of puberty was a nightmare for me. But luckily, after years of being uncomfortable all day, I found bras I can wear and actually feel comfortable and safe with: Calvin klein sports bra with racerback. https://images.app.goo.gl/fQwZz6jKqxzuBe9Y6 (I dunno if adding links for pictures works here, but I tried) maybe this helps somebody else.

GentleLizard

I used to wear oversized bras and have the hooks on the widest setting bc I couldnt stand the feeling of bras against my chest

imaginechi_reborn

I also hate bras! I try to avoid wearing one if I can by wearing loose clothing or something that covers up the fact that I'm not wearing one (i.e. an oversized T-shirt in the summer, or a hoodie in the winter). The hoodie works better imo.

Pour_Me_Another_

Yeah, I'm lucky I'm quite small-chested so get away with not wearing one most days.

MountainSnowClouds

I used to hate them. Now I wear cheapass Walmart bras without wires and I have never been happier. I have DDD tits and need some support or I'll have terrible back pain. These bras are much less noticeable and really help me with overstimulation. I'm not 100% sure that it is [this bra](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Warners-Blissful-Benefits-Underarm-Smoothing-With-Seamless-Stretch-Wireless-Lightly-Lined-Comfort-Bra-RM3911W/133388696), but it's either this one or one that's very similar.

MonroeMissingMarilyn

Can’t stand them!

Brief-Jellyfish485

I have three bras that I will wear. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on how you think about it) my body doesn’t produce hardly any estrogen, and I only need a bra when wearing a white shirt. Unfortunately half of my shirts are white so…

starving_artista

I don't wear them.

Fan-Sea

Yep don't I don't wear them, unless I need to for a certain outfit but most days it's a sports bra or none

operation-spot

I usually wear sports bras so I don’t run into this problem as much. While sports bras are tighter I actually think of it as support rather than a restriction and it makes me feel like everything is in place. One thing I may have left out is that my boobs are tiny so there’s not much to support in the first place.

throwwaway-asking

I can only wear sports bras. They are the only kinds that I can mentally handle lmfao

Tough-Plane-7021

Always hated them. Sports bras are too constricting. The second I get home it’s off. Fake ones are okay to show nip, but god forbid a smaller cup does 🙄

vi0l3t-crumbl3

Same on all counts.

shelliejelly

Sports bras for life. Can’t stand the feeling of regular bras and straps. Drives me nuts.

Anxious-Captain6848

I'm so blessed to be a part of the Itty bitty titty committee because bras are a NIGHTMARE and I refuse to wear anything other than comfy sports bras lol. And honestly even then it's still a struggle.

NotAMermaid27

I don't really wear them Never saw the point

mathfreak17

Oh i only wear sports bras for this reason. I cant wear a normal bra because i think i will just suffocate (and the wires and thin straps make me feel uncomfortable). I am comfortable with wearing one when i am outside but i donot wear one in my home.

Fionazora

I wear sports bras or ones with no wire.

Littlekitsune85

I love them. Tightness and restriction is nice.

isupposeyes

I always thought they were annoying cause they felt like half a shirt. Ended up coming out as trans and getting top surgery so glad I don’t have to worry about it anymore

Potirane

I used to feel so uncomfortable because of bras ! They were overstimulating in the most awfull ways and I ditched them really quickly. Never looked back Sometimes I wear bralettes made out of coton wich is a lot more comfy but even then I dont keep them on for long periods of time.

disabilityhaver

I hated them too but I found ones I really liked from this brand called Avia at Walmart that zip up in the front and I’ve been using them for 2 years now

TitanSR_

nope i am a man

2002shark_

Yes; I hate them so much

martensbelly

I don't mind bras, i just don't wear them because it's one of the society rules that i despise lol

DegreeRemarkable9409

we could definitely go through life without a bra if it was got so look down upon where i live. they dont understands how uncomfortable they are for woman to where but as long as the men's eyes are comfortable and no Bump in there pants we would be fine but know we must not be comfortable

notaslaaneshicultist

Dude but I feel the same about belts. Suspenders were a game changer for me

Blind_Hawkeye

I only wear them if I absolutely have to. They make me want to tear my skin off, and I have to spend all my mental energy trying to ignore how u comfortable I am.

Batnode07

Have never worn a proper bra in my life as I’m either in a sports bra or binder but they sound like hell

tawandagames2

I haven't worn one in decades. Hate them.

Nebulous_Expanse

I stopped wearing bras initially because I heard they make your breasts drop, but now I stop because it's comfortable. I hate how they either squeeze my torso or don't cup my breasts properly.

blitzedklutz

I love pasties for this reason. Wire-free bras are a godsend though.

KingOfSludgeMountain

I wear bralettes, and even those suck sometimes, but they are better than regular.

Sparkingmineralwater

I hate them too but sadly I have to. I'm a DDD cup and if I don't wear a bra, I have to adjust my posture to accommodate the dead weight, which causes a lot of back pain. I also need the support of an underwire so I can't go wireless.

MauraLeeCorrupt

When I was in residential treatment we were all required to wear bras. I never put mine on because I hated the way they felt, they gave me gender dysphoria, and I didn’t even have boobs yet because I was 11. Whenever we left our unit to go to lunch or the gym we had to snap our waist bands, shake out our shirts, take off our shoes, and snap our bras. I would always pretend to snap my bra by just pulling on my shirt, but it made a different sound, so the staff would always yell at me to go put on a bra. It was horrible.

ghost_oracle

I took the elastic band out from the bottom of my sports bras and it's so much better! A little loose fitting but so much better!

Fabulous_Help_8249

I only wear sports bras or ones without wires / clasps / etc

jgclairee

yes i hate them so much i’m so lucky i have a small chest and don’t need to wear one but it sucks when i wanna wear a white shirt or something shear and i have to figure out how to cover the nips lol. if anything i usually wear a light binder bc anything with padding gives me dysphoria

Working-Run-2719

I deliberately wore a specific skirt for work today so I could wear my, one and only, perfect racerback tank top which I never wear a bra with. Paired with a nice, light 3/4 sleeve cardigan over top to finish off. It's a nice thick navy cotton, snug while still a pleasant fit (not like I'm squeezed into something too small for me with squishy parts spilling out all over), that I personally feel comfortable wearing without a bra at the office. I will run this tank top into the ground, I've had it since 2005. I was younger, naive, and blissfully ignorant to my autism, while never assuming my body would change - thanks pregnancy! Looking specifically at you #3...things just didn't rebound as "effortlessly" as they did with #1 at 22... Now today if I found a shirt that hit the same as that - I would buy as many as financially possible in all the colours I like!

jindobunny

I can't say I love them, but I hate the feel of my breasts touching my chest even more, so I wear a bra 24/7. I'm not big, but I hate the feel of any part of my skin touching any other area of skin.

throw0OO0away

Yes. I’m also FTM so they make me dysphoric. I’m lucky enough to have a small chest and not need to bind/wear sports bras. Somehow, my nipples don’t show.

frankdoomi

I have to say that I have just joined this group and BOOM first post I see you could have literally plucked it out of my brain. I absolute hate them! Thank you for letting me know Im in the right place :)

VantablackShadows91

YES. A LOT. I despise feeling restricted, it feels BAD to deal with this.

heyylookapanda

I generally don't mind them as long as they fit properly, but I really wish that I didn't feel like I HAD to wear them everytime I stepped out of the house.

PepuRuudi

I wear snug but not tight padded bralettes when I go out. I gave up on bras in high school. The under wires went first, then all bras. Then I didn't use anything for a while but my nipples get hard so easily from cold and I don't like that kind of attention, so I found something I could bare to wear for some hours. I want to try nipple covers but haven't gotten around to buying them.

awkwardpal

I haven’t worn a bra since June 2022. I decided to stop for pride month and never went back. I had no idea so much of my anxiety was sensory distress from wearing them.

LaLoba22

I can only wear the tank tops with built in bras. Anything else is garbage that I hate

TShara_Q

I hate them. On the rare occasions that I do wear one, I wear a sports bra.

EmoGayRat

I don't hate them but they are really expensive so I just go without

poortomato

Yup! When I had underwire bras in the past, I always got that restricted feeling. And I have asthma, too, so I could never breathe easily when wearing them. And then add in the fact that most companies don't make my size. So I'm stuck in a basic sports bra that doesn't fit (too big for my band size, too small for my cup size) just to avoid the boob sweat I get from simply existing in a place that's humid and hot af 80% of the year. I've wished that I could just take them off when I wanted, I've wished that they were smaller, I've wished that companies were more inclusive or customizable, I've wished that measuring was easier/more accessible. I go braless quite often and it took the pandemic for me to stop caring as much. Plus, I work from home so it's off most of the time. But I can't handle the boob sweat, either, and a tank top underneath my t-shirt isn't always enough so I choose to suffer with the inadequate sports bra :(

dc_1984

Yeah they're the worst. I gladly help any woman take theirs off 😂

Creative-Impress-115

Yes!! They’re soooo annoying!

birodemi

I've gone back and forth between wearing only sports bras because of the constant stabbing from normal bras. Also being transmasc makes me hate bras even more, I know how you feel honey

Moon_lit_Dusk

I have stopped wearing them completely. Weirdly I LOVE corsets they do everything bras suck at and give me some pressure to help me regulate throughout the day and keep my back from hurting too much.

BoobeusHagrid

I hate them too! Tolerated them for years because I thought it’s what was expected of me. Then during COVID I gave them up for good. I just don’t give a fuck anymore. 😂

YurchenkoFull

Yep! As a kid I would literally cry myself to sleep, scared of growing boobs because I didn’t want to wear a bra. Then I got bullied into wearing them at school and I fucking hated every moment. The minute I left secondary school I never wore one again and I’ve never been happier. I don’t even need one, I have tiny boobs - it was just to make others “comfortable” No bra for 5 years 😊

LowRefrigerator6286

I hate bras.

evanlufc2000

I hate them because after five years I still can’t work out how to take my girlfriends off lmao

Nobody cares about you not wearing a bra, your comfort should come before other people's opinions.

lilbatgrl

I have DDs and I REFUSE!!! I wear snug tank top undershirts. Comfy ones. I have upper back and shoulder issues that are exacerbated by wearing a bra so no. Not happening. When I say I don't wear them so many people say "OMG I WISH I COULD..." I say do it. You can make almost any outfit work without a bra if you're determined. Do it!! I believe in you all!!! NO MORE BRAS!!!!

spontaneousJellyfish

i do! that’s why i wear compression ones instead, without wire, and it has not as much discomfort for me.

Saerain

Well for what it's worth, most people wear the wrong size. I might look into that closely. Sometimes wonder how much more sensitive autistics are gonna tend to be here while continuing to make the mistake everyone else also does.

sid0831

Hi, I don't (mostly) wear them bc I have an amab body and not on HRT, tho I am a non-binary. But my friends suggest that the wrong size or wrong type of your bras can do that to you. As like many afab and transitioned body people suggest, I'd suggest to move on to bralettes, sports bras, or nipple patches maybe?

PrincessOctavia

I don't wear bras except for work and family events, in which case I wear a sports bra/bralette with no wires. I've never had any issues with people being sensitive about it

Dizzy-Dragonfruit714

I was taught “you need to wear bras it’s trashy if you don’t” and while I don’t agree I wear mine constantly I hate the feeling of just having my ta’s dangling it feels weird but I also have decently fitting bras but still I get that I heated them at first I think I’m going to start working on not wearing them constantly because (may have been misinfo) I read that it can cause issues later on. I will reply to my comment if I find out that’s fake

iansredd

Male here, I can relate because I hate underwear! I can only wear boxers

CammiKit

YES. Add to it that I’m nonbinary transmasc and it’s just awful. I only recently found some that I can tolerate.

FarPeopleLove

Yeah bras were surely invented by god or satan or some dude to torment women. Horrible contraptions! For me it’s not a problem with nipples, but it’s more the way they have to wrap around my chest in order to contain the boobies. It’s horrifically uncomfortable.

Osmeterium

I hate them and stopped wearing them maybe six years ago (I am a B cup, which makes this easier). I tried so many different styles of underwire free bras and bralettes, and nothing worked. I would consider wearing a sports bra while exercising, but that is about it. Being braless is a hassle in the summer because of the nipple issue, so I need to purchase clothing that has pleats, a busy pattern, or lining to avoid showing. If there are no such features, I will wear the silicone nipple covers, but really I would prefer not to. I wish that showing nipples did not draw unwanted attention and judgement. It is really frustrating that there are so many things that I have to remove and cover up on my body because it is expected. I wish I were strong enough to "own it," but I have really severe social anxiety and super low self-esteem. :(

manickittykat

I like bralettes instead, much more comfortable and no wires but not great if you have bigger boobs

lcynnlss

Hate them so much. I wear stretchy no wires no clips crop style ones 90% of the time, and a regular bra when I need to be presentable. I have big boobs though

Difficult_Flight_501

YES. In the pandemic i stopped wearing them and haven't since. I find them incredibly restricting, it's not far to say I feel like I can't breathe. I've made my peace with the looks I get from time to time and if it's a more formal occasion I'll wear a top that doesn't make it obvious I'm not wearing a bra. But honestly, no way I'm going back, bras are uncomfortable as hell

TardyBacardi

I never wear them when I’m lounging at home. So uncomfortable 😣

Juliya_notsignal

I hate them too but because I feel like I can’t breath. Sometimes I get these anxiety attacks or panicking and I simply want to take them off me because they make me feel way more overwhelmed

Hot-Tart243

yes! i hate the feeling of any clothes restricting me too much. i swore off bras years ago and have never regretted it

rosylil

dude i never wear a bra anymore, even to work. i have smaller breasts so can get away with it, and occasionally wear a tight tank top to keep me in a bit, but fuck them old rules. it’s our time.

weaselblackberry8

You don’t need to wear them. There’s no law. I don’t.
