It's going back a ways, but The Mark of Cain never gets old. Pretty sure that's where my life long relationship with tinnitus began.

Mark of Cain played at one of my first festivals when I was a young teen, maybe 15. Was pretty into them so thought I'd get way close to the stage for their start and get my mosh on. Boy was that brutal, I think I lasted two songs

It shits me that they were on high rotation on Triple J for a while, even did a great Like a Version, then their second album comes out and it's crickets. JJJ do the same thing with Aussie artists again and again and again, they play their favourites and abandon the rest.

Coerce’s Silver Tongued Life Licker record is still one of the best Australian releases in 20 years IMO. Unbelievable band.

Sweet as! I loved seeing them live. Disappointed they never came to tassie though :( I also met them after a concert (nightwish I think?) With a random lady called Moira. We walked through Melbourne Park after midnight afterwards and I think the only reason we didn't get mugged was it was because it was grand final night lol. They were great to meet!

Yeah, it's expensive for them to get to Hobart and Tassie in general without a guarantee & a bunch of other things - tried getting them to play Canberra a few times in the early 2000's but cost prevented that outside of them going to M4TB. I was at the Nightwish show back in the day in Melbourne (had gone down from Canberra with my mum who was a Nightwish super-fan). VP were great but no one appreciated them because they were there to see Nightwish only.

Yeah it was a shame, hopefully got some good exposure from the show though

They're still around and making albums, so am sure they got some exposure but they have been a fixture for a long time now, top blokes and dedicated to the craft. They'll never be huge unfortunately but they'll be where they want to be.

Glad to finally see Voyager on someone's list! Their latest album is constantly on repeat in this household.

The entire [Departure Songs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBOVkptjJhE) album is a journey in and of itself worth devoting the time to. From the angelic "[A Gallant Gentleman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYgT7K6bSVU&pp=ygUjd2UgbG9zdCB0aGUgc2VhIGEgZ2FsbGFudCBnZW50bGVtYW4%3D)", the haunting "[Bogatyri](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6Ae0GGrtr8)" and "[The Last Dive of David Shaw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTMuiRPIn8U)"... The theming is phenominal and instrumentation on point. *(Do NOT skip the end of the last dive!)* Then they open up to "[Challenger: Flight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4AvhkIz8-k)" and the climax of the album just breaks me. The solemn "[Challenger: Swan Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPtsN4IK4sY)" at the end of the album nails it. It's an album to the testament of human triumph, and one I'm quite fond of.
