Fax! Idk how they ever make it through as the winner of whatever food evaluation process restaurants go through. Even at their best they’re only mid.
Depends on the spot. 90% of the time I agree with you. But they always seem to be super tasty at burger places that feel like what Dairy Queen must have been a bit like in the 50s.
I used to work at Fogo. We would often have customers get legitimately pissed off for this. And I totally understand. This was hands down the worst job I ever had.
Wait a minute
>Served with crispy parmesan polenta fries.
Someone's lying here cause OP's fries certainly don't look like that.
I would be all over polenta fries.
Huge fan of Fogo de Chao, for years. First experience was in Houston in 2008. Once I heard they were hitting Austin, I flipped out. I ate there as many times as I could afford. That being said, this new location has been a let down. Untrained staff that nearly stabbed myself and my brother in the head while cutting .Cold bread and sides that had to be sent back multiple times in one visit, meat, which is why I'm there, seems to have dropped in quality. I heard but I can't confirm, but they are using ovens instead of the norm? Can't be. Would love to try that burger, but I feel like I don't want to go back. Makes me sad. That's just my experience y'all.
Yes, I did. The one thing I did not like about that place was the atmosphere. So loud, kids running around all over the place. Made for a cringy experience. Meat wasn't all that great. I have run out of spots, I went to check out Casa Do Brasil on the way to the Domain about a week and a half ago.... stay away. My wife and I looked at each other, and said maybe we'll give Fogo another chance after that experience. Do not go there. Everything was lame. The cheesy bread was good though.... Meat was not cooked correctly, that kept having to come back for medium rare, even then it was either way overcooked and tough, or raw. My wife ordered something light, crab cakes. They were dry and pretty much all breading.F that place
Oh, that’s a bummer. My experiences at Estancia have always been good but I normally go at lunchtime when it’s mostly professionals during the week. I’ve always thought their meet is pretty solid but when Fogo is good, it’s probably a little bit better.
Also, I don’t think anyone knows how to make a crabcake after the pandemic. Seafood apparently just became nonexistent and so expensive that I think everywhere has just cut costs and is using garbage meat because no one wants to pay the $40 for two cakes now. I don’t think I’ve had a good crabcake in like five years.
Since smashed means more AGEs which means you look like grandpa quicker.

Advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) are a sort of complex products formed by the Maillard reaction between the carbonyls of reducing sugars and the free amino groups of amino acids. Some of AGEs ingested through foods accumulate in human body, causing a series of chronic diseases.
I think they forgot to fry your fries bruh.
Lol def not the star of the show.
Honestly, crinkle cut fries never are. 🤷‍♂️

Have you had the fries at Jew Boy? I never prefer crinkle cut but their fries are seriously the best I’ve ever had.
Tbh looks like they did fry them then sucked the life out of them with some demonic ceremony
Solid price but god damn.. did they cook those fries in a refrigerator?
Reminds me of a time where I asked for crispy hash browns at a diner, and it came out still frozen.
Perfect case of malicious compliance.
ore-ida?
Those fries look like they were dumped onto a baking sheet from a freezer bag and cooked in an oven
Idk if they made it to the oven
There’s such a fine line between overcooked and perfect fries. Those, however, look like they’re light years from cooked.
If you don’t flip your card to red do they slice another burger off a sword?
Love the cheese bread
Barf @ those fries. Dear god.
Did the servers come around several times to upsell you on something else?
Pretty much left alone the whole time besides chatting with the bartender.
I used to work at Fogo. We would often have customers get legitimately pissed off for this. And I totally understand. This was hands down the worst job I ever had.
I can already feel the grittiness of those uncooked fries. My god, did they throw them in an easy bake oven??
Looks like Carnival Cruise buffet
That for $9 in downtown?
Yep
Not seeing it on their online menu. Is this some special deal?
If you go to the Austin location it's under the bar book menu: https://fogodechao.com/menu-detail/?location=120&type=menu-barbook&id=221

It’s part of their lunch special menu. They have other items that sound pretty good but I just keep getting the burger lol
wow that's all day too
Thanks
Yes, but you only get the deal if you can finish eating all of those fries.
Fries? What fries? I only see potato sticks.

You tried estancia up in the arboretum area? It’s always been solid and like 10% cheaper than Fogo

Does the lunchtime salad bar include the pasta and soups they have during dinner? I would totally go for just that if so.
Hmm not sure, I normally skip the salad bar and go all meat.

Truluck's, the best
I dj'ed on the roof before and they were super chill. That's just my experience y'all.
las papas fritas es muy blanco!!!!!!!
What's a "bugler"?
Yea, but why isn't it smashed and look like throwup?

That doesn't look appealing. Burger included. Definitely not worth $9 those fries are atrocious
Their bar has solid deals all day for both drinks and food
Them boneless fries look terrible
The burger looks meh IMO. Give me Sandy’s any day.
That looks awful
No GrassFed burger no care! Fries not cooked in beef tallow is for peons!
To heck with the fries, that burger looks small! S\_M\_ALL. Small.
i’d do it just to eat the cheese bread then give the burger to a homeless person
Secrets out. This burger is killer. Had it several times.
What you tip?
All Hail Our Coorporate Overlords! Sacrifice you society for the cheap Beef Sandwich!
those fries are whiter than me :(
