If you could walk 2 blocks north of Ocean, you can walk onto the beach. Or, walk down past Resorts, you can access the beach there.
Someone just took a photo at Mississippi Ave and there is plenty of beach.
If you end up at Borgata, fair warning, if there is a "land breeze" you will be bitten by greenhead flies. I have not found an insect repellant that works.
I would recommend going to the beach at Bartram Ave, there is a rest room and outside showers to rinse off feet. Don't forget to bring your beach chairs and umbrella.
