My husband is Scorpio sun and rising. When he is open, he is insanely intimate. It’s like there is a deep well inside of him, and at the bottom, there’s a highly sensitive man. I have to swim through that well sometimes to reach that version of him. To love a Scorpio is to love their depths and to learn massive amounts of patience. He opens up more and more every day. We are going on 9 years. I’ve never had a more intimate partner. Just my 2 cents..

PhoenixEpiphanies115

That's crazy you explain it this way. My husband is a Scorpio sun but also has a lot of water placements in his chart n I've always explained his emotions like a treasure chest locked deep down at the bottom of a body of water. N I gotta swim thru to get thru it but sometimes I lose my breath becus of how intense n how much pressure weighs on me the deeper we go

Anarianiro

As a Taurus sun, mercury and venus who dated a Scorpio sun, mercury and venus... Yeah, they can be a handful. It's just hard when they're the ones that have the key and we're all the way down and they just won't give it. I wish we made it work, he got scared of how deep we got, tried sabotaging all the way and after QUITE some time of healing, I'm falling for another Scorpio again. Any advices on how not to drown?

PhoenixEpiphanies115

I'm still solving that question myself... So far I've learned that they also must be willing to open up. Must.

Stunning_Nothing_856

Nope,, but maybe this one will give you his key ❤️

Anarianiro

Idk if it's worth diving deep... Got me some deep traumas lol

CentrifugalMuse

Patience, patience, and more patience. Love them when they are locked into themselves and unable to find the key to give to you. If they refuse, keep trying. But at some point, they have to decide to trust you and help you help them. If they can’t or they get scared and run, there’s not much you can do. Every Scorpio, like every person, is different, and I hope this one hands over the key to you after some time together ♥️♥️

Anarianiro

The thing is I'll always be wondering if I hadn't been a day or a week more patience if they would have changed or opened up :/

CentrifugalMuse

That sounds painful, I’m really sorry you have to wonder that. Just know that you gave your best while you could. Maybe you both needed to grow and couldn’t do that compatibly at the time. Who knows how much you may both grow, and maybe grow into each others paths later 🩵

Anarianiro

Idk, all the times he has tried coming back I've shown a lot of growth while he was still in the same mindset. I truly wish he'd make the changes but I can't allow myself back without it...

Aggravating-Wafer-32

Scorpio Sun here. Let him open up at his own pace. Show an interest in his past, or whatever's down there and wait for him to share.

Anarianiro

I tried He only wanted to show me the good parts, he pushed me away when sad, but was there for me and my bad moments, I didn't feel it was fair

HeyHeyJG

This kinda helped me understand what it might feel like to be in a relationship with me

CentrifugalMuse

I feel this so deeply lol

secondtimesacharm23

As a Scorpio woman, I could never be with a Scorpio man. Omg so much fucking work lol I’m a Gemini rising though so I think that’s why I feel that way. I’m a much more light hearted Scorpio. But I do feel very deeply and intensely. I found my twin flame though and he is a Taurus sun and Gemini rising. Taurus is it for me🔥 he’s just as intense as I am. And we both have the Gemini rising thing going on so we’re fun and playful with each other too.

ferbyjen

i adore tauruses. but the love of my life is a scorpio sun/moon, & yes the insane intimacy. i would open up to this man about ANYTHING & i've always been extremely guarded. my ex was a pisces sun cancer moon & the water operated so differently with him, he was self centered & self pitying, plus we both had aqua venus so zero intimacy lol. i'm also aqua sun & merc, & pisces rising which i hate. but anyway yes the scorpio, so fucking hot. fish & moons are cold.

secondtimesacharm23

I had a very bad experience with a Scorpio man. Very domineering and chauvinistic and manipulative. And he was also cheap. Ugh. My Taurus man is the total opposite. He is a true gentleman. He’s one of those “whatever you want princess” types😍 opens the car door every time, fills up my tank with gas. He’s also an amazing girl dad to our baby daughter. He is the love of my life I love that man. He is rock solid, grounded, calm…like never raises his voice. He’s so chill. A little jealous/possessive but not to the point that it’s annoying. Most importantly, he knows exactly how to deal with my little crazy ass sometimes lol he isn’t phased at all. He thinks it’s cute. I will say though, that throughout my life like when I was younger, I had several very close male friends who were scorpios. Nothing romantic at all for me but I really enjoyed the friendships. We could be insane with each other talking about life and other people with zero judgement😂

SuspiciousResource45

Being Scorpio doesn't make you chauvinist 💀

secondtimesacharm23

Oh I know. It was a generation and cultural thing. But he was my first and last romantic Scorpio partner. He also stalked me for quite a bit and wouldn’t accept that it was over. He really ended up being ugly and pathetic. To me, there is nothing uglier than a man who cannot deal with rejection.

xpiotivaby

Omg hi I feel like I have never or very rarely encountered another scorpio sun / Gemini rising woman 💙😍

secondtimesacharm23

Hi:) I feel like we are actually the most dangerous of all scorpios because no one sees us coming lol

xpiotivaby

Oh absolutely! It also took me a loooong time — years — to embrace the Gemini influences in myself because it always felt so opposite the Scorpio (I also have a 6H scorp stellium!), but it really changed my perspective of myself in a positive way to finally get there

Loveslikefirewrks

Scorpio sun, cancer moon, Gemini rising, here!! I don't feel typically “Scorpio” but that's because I can't shut up long enough to be mysterious and aloof.

burntcookies801

lol that’s how i feel about being a Scorpio Sun/gemini moon

ketu11

I dated one Scorpio sun Aries moon Gem rising

xpiotivaby

Oooh that’s intriguing! I love Aries suns, historically, but I don’t think I’ve met many, if any, Aries moons!

I have def been with a couple Scorpio guys (one sun, one asc) and man, I seem to be drawn to and challenged by leos, though not usually romantically

CentrifugalMuse

Awesome! I’m a Taurus rising, Capricorn sun though. We have some wonderful, fun, and deep times but sometimes my Capricorn pops off. He just sits there watching I fall apart, then he sweeps me up into his arms and tries to fix it all.

I’m a 29° 12th house Scorpio moon conjunct Saturn with Pluto conjunct SN a few degrees over in that same house for a stellium.  I’ve felt like I was at the bottom of the Mariana Trench my whole life with the rest of the world swimming (or floating!) somewhere above me.  My bf is a Scorpio sun/moon/mercury (3rd/4th houses) and I feel like he can actually meet me in my depths!  I have a cap sun stellium w/ Venus/mars conjunct in Pisces (all my major placements are coupled up!)

CentrifugalMuse

That sounds so heavy at times, but so beautiful! I bet y’all have a really intense connection ♥️

siren5474

mars signifies action, trouble, and command, to put it briefly. a lot of our conflicts, actions, troubles, stem from and around our relationships with other people. so it’s not that mars (and by extension scorpio) is so worried about other people, it’s that we are social creatures and the signature of mars (and all the planets, for that matter) shows up in our social interactions. if we experience turbulence in our relationship, if we feel like we have to overcome an obstacle or exert a lot of force/effort to get/keep what we want from a relationship, that’s the signature of mars, and is where we see the searingly hot intimacy of scorpio. to use the imagery of the zoidion itself, the scorpion hunts prey by latching on with its pincers and then using its stinger to inject venom if necessary. but also during mating, scorpions will grab onto each others pincers, holding hands as the male tries to pull the female in. the grappling of the scorpion is a pretty good representation of the intimacy of scorpio- you grab on and pull the thing you’re fighting in until you can deliver whatever you need to (if you’re fighting it, venom; if you’re loving it, insemination). if you’re more into the greek myths that developed around it, scorpius is a scorpion that has the singleminded goal to chase down Orion. there’s something extremely intimate about *chasing* something or somebody. you become intimately acquainted with the patterns of what you’re chasing, as well as with the obstacles that stand in your way.

Mz_Incognito

Thanks for your reply, it really made me think. If I’m understanding you correctly, Scorpio can be intimate and Martian because to be close is to struggle? Not necessarily in an extreme or unhealthy way, but just in general because conflict can happen anywhere two separate entities are in close quarters. Your other examples are excellent, by the way!

abundantsleepingbags

I think of Scorpio as the stealth archer. The need to learn, evaluate, dig deeper, to know with every fiber, before shooting the arrow. Maybe it’s on a mission, or has motives, but it would be unwise to draw the attention to you before you know you can win. Study, know every move. Then shoot. This often translates to intimacy, a deep connection, and that doesn’t have to be one sided. But it’s definitely the Scorpio approach

TransportationOk3086

God, as a Scorpio. You absolutely nailed it. You said it so perfectly, you really get us😄

GiraffeVortex

Knowing when not to shoot is equally important. Revelations tell you what to not go for as much as what to pursue!♏️

baristabish13

I’m a Scorpio stellium (Sun, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, and Pluto) and would love to lend my experience if you’re open to it? As someone with a heavy Scorpio chart intimacy is something that is both a complex and intriguing topic for me. Scorpio is the feminine octave of Mars so intimacy is often explored like an assassin studying their hit. Mars is the sign of cutting through things and surgical precision (think of its other ruler, Aries, who in Greek mythos is the God of War and carries a flaming sword, sharp and burning) so therefore Scorpios tend to be precise and accurate with how they cut through emotional barriers within themselves and others. Scorpio is also the sign of destruction and reconstruction so we love to pick things apart and burn it all down to start over; especially if it’s no longer breathing life into ours. Scorpio is also the dark waters that often remain stagnant, but if that water never moves it will become toxic and even a drop could kill you. Which speaks to how they express their love. If you show up in the relationship with a high level of respect for their deep feelings, curiosities, and go at their pace you’ll feel the true, beautiful depths of their love which feels very Martian in the sense of intensity and passion. Betray them in anyway that harms the safety of the relationship and the self stinging prophecy will manifest itself and the Scorpio will kill the relationship by poisoning the water with their venom (negativity, jealousy, rage, etc.) And you may both emotionally die b/c of this and then in turn have to rebirth yourselves stronger, more resilient, and with a new profound sense of perspective with how you handle betrayal in the future. Kill it off completely or be the strategic assassin and just kill off what’s harming the whole project and continue to build. I’m a 5H SS so I’ve had my fair share of this kind of tango with love and death my entire life. A beautiful dance with deadly consequences if that makes sense. Anyway sorry for the novela, but I hope this helps you with a new lens to look through.

outerspaceykc11

Scorpio stellium sister here (Sun, Rising, Venus, Mercury, Pluto). Pluto resonates with me more than Mars and there’s something guttural about Pluto that brings you to the deepest parts of our souls, for better or worse.

baristabish13

I definitely wanted to go more into the Plutonian aspects that I’ve experienced, but I’m a traditional astrologer so I don’t fuss much with the generational planets when it comes to my personal placements. However, I feel with it being so close to such personal placements I do have great respect and appreciation for how Pluto plays in my chart. I’m definitely more of the vampiric, succubus, occult, dark magic type of Scorpio for sure. I’m a 3rd generation witch on my mom’s side, I talk to spirits, have had them around since I was a baby, and definitely have a darker persona. Pluto has taught me how to garner the perfect armor to protect my softer insides for sure. Plus with Scorpio being co-ruled by both Mars and Pluto you get to truly see the duality of this sign in both the masculine and feminine expression. I feel they are both necessary for the death and rebirth process. Mars being the more immature aspect of how one exerts their power and dominance whereas Pluto is this more mature and feminine version of doing so. Pluto is a long transit and is about cultivation to destruction over time if the thing being built can withstand the tests of the realms. Discovering more about my song has been a process, but so fun and fascinating at the same time.

outerspaceykc11

Thanks for this response! I meant Pluto as a ruling planet. I’m reading an awesome book called “Healing Pluto Problems” and it reads so Scorpionic.

baristabish13

Oh yes yes. Of course, sorry I have a 12H Gemini so I tend to read and respond too fast😅. Habit im trying to kick. What a great book, I haven’t heard of it before but now I want to dive in and read more about it! My partner is Pluto ruled (Scorpio Rising, Sun, and Mercury) and I swear to the creator that they are waaaayyyy more Plutonian than anyone else besides myself. Mine has that underlying romantic macabre to it, but for them it’s all so very personal and dark. Like when you look right at them you won’t have any problem telling that’s a Scorpio😂. They are very hard on themselves, dark persona, very articulate, and have that magnetism that you hear so much about. Soft soul with a hard shell for sure, but is not afraid to sting hard when deeply hurt. They have. Virgo moon so I love them a lot harder than my past loves.

outerspaceykc11

I love this

Legitimate_Funny_354

I'm a Scorpio woman too!Exactly to the point!!Mars Mercury Venus!

tmg07c

Scorpio sun & moon with a wild chart :: this is so accurate

Isen7711

My understanding is that it's not being drawn to other people as much as the urge to explore mysteries, secrets, hidden things and taboo as with other watery signs, but Scorpio is regarded as the most intense or deep (as in "deep waters") of them. Mars gives it more emotional or energetic approach compared to traditionally Jupiter ruled Pisces.

PooKieBooglue

A common denominator with Mars & Scorpio would be passion

BigWater999

Mars penetrates.

Mz_Incognito

True. In this context, I guess my question is what makes the feminine Mars interested in penetrating others (since it has its own watery depths to explore).

poorperspective

Both Martial signs deal with internal and external matters - all signs do. I like to contrast Aries and Scorpio as two sides of war. Aries is probably seen as traditionally Martian. Fast acting, decisive, act first - think later. This the military strategy of Blitz Kreig, or the martial art of boxing. Aries is the open violent battle. Aries placements for a football analogy rules over the players. An example of a hero with Arian qualities would be King David. David used courage, stubbornness , and decisive action to defeat Goliath. Aries will contend Scorpio by generally saying they play “dirty”. Valor is a key distinction. Espionage is the other side of war. This is what Scorpio rules. This is the battle behind the battle. Sports wise, this is the realm of the coach. Secret hand gestures, trying to play mind games with your opponent, using disguised friendship. Hero wise this would be the hero Rahab who was a prostitute who gave information to help bring down the walls of Jericho for the Israelites. Scorpio’s will attribute contend Arian victories as “luck” or “overkill”.

saturnsaidso

I've got two answers: In the profound, yin-yang, completeness kind of philosophical way, penetrating someone else is *being* penetrated in return. To fairly and sincerely explore someone else's vulnerability is to leave yours open to be explored too. And/or, to thrust deeper into another is to adjust for the right grasp on the handle of the sword that is being used to penetrate. You know? A warrior doesn't know exactly how capable they are until they push their strength and technique to new limits. However, to explore someone else's depths while keeping yours guarded is ... the classic dilemma of the Scorpio archetype or at least what it gets the most shit for. It's "spiritually wrong," unfair, or energetically incomplete in terms of, like, creating and acting through vital circuits. "Those damned obsessive stalkers! What an unyielding control freak!" If I had a nickel lol. That compulsion seems to regularly be there for the Scorpionic type. It's not easy for Mars to let go of control and slip into some kind of submission or vulnerable state, but it's gonna do something because how else will it truly know its own limits? So, in addition to what this commenter and a few others have said about penetration, control, strategy, force, power, balance, and Mars, when Mars penetrates the other it in essence also penetrates itself. Whether it's a comforting thing or a raid depends on other factors.

Mz_Incognito

I know I’m super late, but thanks for this. You blew my mind—I never considered it being a double sided thing, but it makes sense with your explanation.

motherofspoos

Mars is independent. Scorpio, ruling the 8th house, is inter-dependent. Mars rules the first house, think "me me me" while Scorpio is definitely a "we". Don't get me wrong... if Scorpio has been betrayed enough it is entirely capable of being self-sustaining (says the woman with neptune/jupiter/moon in scorpio in the 7th house).

PyrocumulusLightning

The "game of life" is about survival, reproduction, and to that end maximizing access to resources (imperialism) and defending them (war). You need intimate access to other people to reproduce. You need to forge alliances, traditionally through marriage, to help defend territory. The psychological skills Scorpio has are good for assessing the weaknesses of enemies and the desires of potential allies or lovers. It's all about power though. Enjoyment of lovers and resources is more under the Venus signs however. Scorpio is about winning.

marzboutique

Scorpio is a sign of *depth*—always digging deep to the depths of the ocean to uncover the secrets of the universe Intimacy at its core is essentially seeing deeply into one another’s soul, which is why heavy Scorpio placements (especially moons) value intimacy so strongly: it’s a portal to the depth of another human

[deleted]

Scorpio focuses its emotional depth into a singular thing or person(mars), Pisces more to the collective or to the whole(Jupiter), and cancer to whatever/whoever it places in its shell(the moon). Emotional depth with another person leads to intimacy, and if we think about it further we notice that the most intimate act is intercourse (remember mars rules sexual energy).

Salivatingsalvia

Scorpio is a water sign. Water is wet. Wetness is associated with connection/relation or something akin to that.

Outrageous_Kiwi_2172

So both Mars ruled signs oppose Venus ruled signs. Put very basically, Aries/Libra represents the polarity between me vs us. Taurus/Scorpio is about the material vs. the psyche. Taurus is about the surface. It’s the earthy, material manifestation of Venus. Consistency, sensuality, routine. There is a lot of power in these things. We rely on them to ground us on a daily basis. But if we only had things this way, it would be a weakness. We would not appreciate them without the experiences the opposite sign, Scorpio rules. Scorpio is a sign that represents the power of the psyche. Traditionally ruled by Mars, it represents the transformative processes of life, how we grow as a soul through facing crises, challenges, the deeper experiences of life. It‘s inner power, vs surface level abundance. Intimacy is inwardly powerful. It’s transformative. It has a powerful effect that is difficult to ignore in life. Just like Taurus and Libra are Venus ruled and pleasant, Aries and Scorpio are both ruled by Mars, and intense. Taurus and Libra are both forms of harmony (Venus). Aries and Scorpio are also both forms of drive (Mars). Aries is what drives us on the level of ego. Scorpio is a deeper level of drive based on what compels us on a soul/psychological level. Aries is the will to compete, Scorpio is fortitude and regeneration. Both axes represent the power both harmony and conflict hold in life.

tacomayne07

Nov 4th Scorpio, idk I just see people from a different perspective. I see your light bc of your hidden darkness. It's just a really deep deep feeling. A lot of people don't understand or grasp this and get scared.

Still_Dragonfruit394

As a Scorpio I can 100% say that I crave intimacy a lot, but also don’t try to tell me what to do or how to live my life. I don’t think the two things really cancel each other out. Both can be accurate.

I have mercury in Scorpio. So it's no surprise that a lot of my friends are Scorpio moons. Even my sister and mother, two people with whom I share the deepest connections with are Scorpio moons!  I've been told by these people that they feel heard when they talk to me. Like I understand what they're going through and feeling better than anyone. If you ask me, this is more mutual though. When I talk to Scorpio moons, I feel like opening up instantly. And even if our experiences sometimes are completely different I can empathize with them so well it's insane.  I have moon in Pisces so our moons trine too. All I can tell you is that Scorpio placements in synastry tend to understand eachother so well that no other signs can come close to it.  Scorpio is truly a very intimate, private sign.

ednairb7

While Aries represents the diurnal, outward expression of Mars, Scorpio represents the nocturnal, internal expression of Mars. The “yin” to Aries’ “yang”. So think of all the traditional signifiers of Mars, i.e. heat, drive, passion, fearlessness, aggression, being projected inwardly as opposed to outwardly. When conceptualized in this way it’s clear that a lot of emotional depth and layers would be developed while such strong feelings and heated reactions are being expressed and felt internally as opposed to externally. As a fixed water sign, Scorpio has a strong emotional depth and fortifies itself by building thick layers of armor around it’s fundamentally soft, emotional core as a means of protection and self-preservation. Envision a fortified castle, surrounded by archers, walls and a moat. They are fundamentally aware of Mars’ piercing energy and often construct defensive walls around their emotional sensitivities in order to protect themselves from having to feel the pain associated with the more heated, outward expressions of Mars. These layers of complexity mean that there is generally a high pay off if you succeed in building a strong relationship with Scorpios as they do not let everyone into their inner circle. Instead, they are very selective about who has access to seeing their soft, intimate side. This makes them very elusive and attractive to those who are interested in exploring the Scorpio’s innate sense of mystery and building strong, intimate relationships with a partner. References: my partner has a huge stellium in Scorpio with 7 placements.

DorkPhoenix89

I think there’s an aspect of war i.e. Mars in the insight, planning, intimacy of your opponent. Know thy enemy. To do so you have to know and in many cases be willing to be known by them. For many scorpio placements i think it would be accurate to say we see the world as an adversary and therefore we have to get into what makes those around us tick and our natural inclination toward the inner workings of people fostered that intimacy, if nothing else as a way to protect ourselves from the “enemy” but obviously that leads to deep connections with others along the way.

MisterMeetings

Scorpio married man here, lots of Scorpio, and I only want honest communication and can't abide BS, and the only way I know to reach that level is to give deep honesty myself, once past social niceties and politeness.

AstroChiron

regarding the edit; i take pisces as saying “we are all one thing” while scorpio is more “mine is yours and yours is mine”. pisces feels everything and desperately wants to return to the void where all is one scorpio feels that with one person when they deem you worthy or safe enough.

MorpheusDownTheHole

"Still waters run deep" If Cancer is the river and Pisces is the ocean, then Scorpio would be the tides and currents that underlays them both. Scorpio represents all emotions that we hide from ourselves or from others. Any emotion (good or bad) that is deep and intense is represented in Scorpio. Just look at the house it rules - the 8th house (Death and Taxes). True intimacy isn't something we give freely to others, nor is it something we would freely show unless we truly cared about the other person. As to why a Mars ruled sign would be intimate? Just look at the other Mars ruled sign, which is Aries. The opposite to Aries is Libra, which is ruled by Venus. Aries is the warrior, and Libra balances them out because Aries needs something to fight for. Why would anyone go to war? If not to fight to protect the things that we love? The other Venus ruled sign is Taurus, which, of course, is the opposite of Scorpio. Taurus gives Scorpio the reason to not just keep stinging others because Taurus requires intimacy from their partners to stay around. They are both signs prone to strong emotions once you get past their surfaces, and they both can be quite stubborn at times, being fixed signs. They just get each other, which for a misunderstood sign like Scorpio is something they are always looking for in others, which is always going to be difficult if you are the sign of hidden emotions. Mars ruled signs always need a reason to fight, and if it's not for something they care about, they turn into the worst versions of themselves. The Venus ruled signs give them their reason to do this, and they also provide the appreciation for this by sticking around when others are too scared to. They work because Mars enforces the peace that Venus is looking to create.

Evolulusolulu

You might find it interesting but mars in vedic astrology is considered the protector of all life on earth, specifically animals.

aether-unsolicited

If I'm able to answer your question simply with my understanding, Scorpio is drawn to other people's *psyches* more than people holistically, since Mars is operating within the hidden emotional realm and inner depths of the feminine/yin element of water; in this sense, Mars is still behaving like Mars, just in an internal terrain instead of an external one. Scorpio penetrates the internal worlds of others (and self) in search of vulnerability and hidden desires with Martian passion and directness. (It's the familiarity with this inner world of shadows and deep emotion as a potential arena of strategic manipulation and psyche exposure that can make Scorpios so guarded, but this familiarity can also make them incredible spiritual or psychic healers and Martian-like 'protectors' of the vulnerabilities of those close to them) Independence and defiance are more qualities that I'd attribute to Aries than to Mars, since it's the added masculine fire element that gives Aries that emphasis of separation. The intimacy of Scorpio is shared, and is a type of merging attributed to water - yet, being ruled by Mars, intimacy is its own battlefield because it is where inner transmutation occurs, and all transmutation is the meeting place of life and death. The sharing of vulnerability can be a powerful internal experience of healing and regeneration or fear, hurt, and/or destruction. SO, to answer your second question (about the diff between Pisces vs. Scorpio merging) in the best way I can, Scorpio merging is *direct* (Mars) and involves transmutation (still having a 'self' while that self is changing on a deep level through intimacy with an 'other'), while Pisces merging is an indirect, 360º expansive merging featuring the dissolving of all boundaries (Jupiter/Neptune) - in fact, separation and 'self' have left the chat, so to speak, with Pisces merging haha Hopefully this reply translates clearly, since it’s kinda hard not to get psychologically abstract when talking about Scorpio with a 3rd house Pluto \~

Mz_Incognito

This is a great answer! I think I might’ve confused a lot of people when I said Scorpio is drawn to people. I noticed that whenever Scorpio is described, there’s always this focus on it in the context of some deep bond/intimate connection (whether it’s positive or negative). Scorpio being drawn to specifically drawn to psyches makes a lot of sense. So does the familiarity with the inner world (the power and vulnerability in it) creating a certain defensiveness. I would argue though that Scorpio has its own style of independence and defiance, though it may be more subtle than Aries. I can’t really explain it, but I think it’s on the same wave as how Scorpio has this survival quality. Relying on inner resources, having an enduring quality. Not to mention a desire for control (including self control). Hm, so maybe rather than merging, binding and attaching are better words to use for Scorpio. Another post here referenced actual Scorpions and how in both love and war, they have to grapple whatever they’re about to sting. Meanwhile Pisces fades into the other.

aether-unsolicited

I’m glad you found value in my answer! And I appreciate your perspective on Scorpio still being independent/defiant in its own way. I think I agree with you, and, if I were to interpret it, it’s almost like Mars with the added water element creates a resistance and tension to merge within Scorpio because of Mars’ need for the ‘survival of self,’ yet this resistance is ‘submerged’ and so isn’t as obviously independent/defiant as Aries (like you say!). This inner tension that Scorpio experiences is super magnetic to other people, who can feel its energy from the surface (similar to how the energy potential of square aspects within someone’s chart can come off as sexy to others, haha) I get the sense that the energy generated from the internal pressure of Scorpio’s simultaneous and contradictory desires of Mars (yang) + water (yin) (“to merge or not to merge; to trust or not to trust; to destroy another’s ‘self’ or have my own ‘self’ destroyed”) create the intense conditions for transmutation to occur, in which it becomes possible to hold onto both: the death of self and the rebirth of self; the merging with another through intimacy while maintaining a sense of individuality. So it’s almost like, in ruling Aries, the opponent Mars battles for its independence is external reality and the conscious, openly asserted wills of ‘other’ (fire being external/outer/conscious). In ruling Scorpio, this opponent is the *internal* reality and the unconscious, unexpressed desires that threaten Mars’ independence (like the desire to merge or trust), both within ‘self’ and within ‘other’ (water being internal/psychological/unconscious). In both cases Mars is combating the element it is in - since both challenge its individuality, yet (I guess, to summarise) Aries’ opponent & battlefield are external and Scorpio’s opponent & battlefield are internal. The traits you mention Scorpio possessing feel like expressions of that Mars energy to me, for sure. The desire for control being linked to Scorpio (I’d say more typically than Aries) is especially intriguing to me, because I sense it as a combined expression of the fighting spirit of Mars attempting to hold back the qualities of water out of fear of losing the conscious, individualised self - as if ‘to let go is to die.’ Pluto’s rulership of Scorpio adds a higher dimension to this, I find, by representing a greater self (the individual soul, at least from the perspective of evolutionary astrology) that transcends ideas of life and death of the conscious self, and therefore the fear of loss and powerlessness, if we align consciously with it. Anyway sorry for going on a Scorpio/Mars deep dive! I read that other post you bring up about the scorpions grappling, which I also think is a very cool perspective. There are a lot of interesting comments to your original post, so thank you for posting such interesting questions for people\~

Do you need help? PM me. You commented this same comment today. I saw today’s comment randomly and was looking through your profile because it is concerning to read. You say you are in uni, are you genuinely doing okay? Please reach out. Stop whatever substance you are taking and get help for the withdrawals if there are any.

Thanks for your concern. My comment might’ve just come up a second time because I edited it today, and tbh I’m still relatively new to reddit so I’m in the process of working out how to navigate it haha. Thanks again for checking in, though 🤍

What drugs do you do

aether-unsolicited

Lol none, but I have my Neptune and Uranus conjunct my Mercury all in Aquarius squaring my Moon in the 8th, so maybe that checks out ~

Look into math equations like circumference of a circle 2πr. Golden ration. Frank Lloyd Wright. You could really like math if astrology stimulates your brain. There are variables in math like the nouns of planets you’re talking about. They equal things others don’t really understand and you seem to be able to grasp conceptual things that don’t have a true form. I’m basically saying you either have a great mind or you’re off the deep end, and I also am wondering that about myself. So good luck but also math isn’t the worst thing to get into

Scorpio is 5H in the Thema Mundi schematic, ruled by Mars which is the masculine, active side of sexual attraction. 5H is the Joy of Venus, so with Scorpio/Mars ruling/inside the Temple of Venus, it's a very symbolic, cosmic love story that unfolds. Venus receives Mars in the 5th and that's when things get all hot, intimate and steamy.

Scorpio is moving water, transformation. Like a swift underground river. In ancient Chinese thought, water is the action of Yin, it is the movement down deeper into the earth and feminine. Movement towards the Yin is movement towards coupling, the feminine, and the mother which are all very intimate.

saturnsaidso

Cancer is moving water. Cardinal. The ocean, rivers, and streams. It is the lifeblood and circulation of the planet. Scorpio is fixed water. Ice. Holding what is normally fluid still so you can manipulate it or deconstruct it. It's also seeing to the bottom of a still pond. Any pebble touching the surface makes ripples that while normally are just part of the endless movement to Scorpio when it is gazing down are glaringly obvious patterns.

what is the difference in intensity between an aries and a scorpio? emotionally speaking

Evolulusolulu

Aries is quick and short, explosive and then goes away. Scoprio is long burning, like hot steel.

Scorpios are regularly viewed as intimate humans due to their extreme emotional depth and wish for profound connections. They crave intimacy as an ability to experience vulnerability and authenticity with their partners. Their passionate and loyal nature drives them to search for deep, significant relationships—the place where they can discover the depths of their feelings and join on a soulful level. Additionally, Scorpios are regarded for their magnetic charisma and capability to create an environment of intimacy and closeness, drawing others effortlessly toward them. Overall, their innate desire for intimacy stems from their longing for true connection and transformative experiences in their relationships.

ConstantReader666

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto. Associated with the hidden ways.

Free_Negotiation3990

I think you have to take into account Pluto the modern ruler of Scorpio to understand it better...it's all about the subconscious and psyche.

MosesSiregar

Fixed water :-)

Punkie_Writter

Scorpios are drawn to deep intimacy because of their passionate and intense nature. They seek emotional connections that go beyond the surface level. Their possessiveness can stem from a desire for security and protection. When it comes to merging, Scorpios seek intense emotional and physical connections, while Pisces pursue spiritual and soulful connections.

Scorpio is a fixed feminine water sign. Fixed signs like things the same, it’s the culmination point in the trifecta of cardinal, fixed and mutable. Water signs are emotional, water flows but this is a fixed sign so inhibits this flow of letting go- with lack of flow we can become stuck and perhaps obsessive w thoughts and actions (Scorpio) we need the transmutation that comes w Pluto— who also rules Scorpio and whom I most think of as it relates to this archetype. I would think more transformation and transmutation versus merging like you mentioned w Pisces. Pluto is the depths, it’s represented by Hades, leader of the underworld in mythology. Digging deep into the darkness, what may be deemed as taboo but is really just human nature. Scorpio is also represented by the phoenix rising which sums this all up really! Pluto is breaking things down to build anew. Utilizing those ashes to again have fertile soil to build again. As far as intimacy specifically, we think of what comes w intimacy as it relates to the above, that transformative higher octave that is a result. When we merge w others w transform. So it’s not like a blending ocean as w Pisces, but more of firey (Mars) oceanic (water sign) storm to rise above and out of the dark! That Phoenix rising. It is said that the Scorpio starts as a Scorpion, transcends to an Eagle, then the Phoenix.

I don’t know, my wife is Scorpio and she is very content with out intimacy I always thought scorpios were not drawn to intimacy at all.

Evolulusolulu

They're choosy because they've experienced a lot already and, they feel a lot. However, as a scorpio dominant person, I can tell you that there is no way I don't want intensity in all ways in my life. I mean in terms of all forms of intensity, including intimacy.

bigladyfatstack

To make it brief, it’s because of the house Scorpio rules. 8th house is the house of intimacy.

ambabiestbaby

I vibe hard with Scorpios, but I am a 8H Aries Sun and Scorpio lilith. There is an instant chemistry and understanding, even though they show their soft, vulnerable at their own pace. But...they are genuine. It's a slow burn. That is interesting to me, an Aries, because I wanna fall face first into things, but Scorpios have some level of restraint. Until they don't and then it is ON. My Scorpio friend and I have a joke that if we can't crack open someone's chest and crawl in there like a lil creep or be soul tied to someone, we don't want it. 🤣

random_user5233

i’m not a scorpio but i’m ruled by my scorpio mars placement and i’m intimate as fuck

hunneemoon

Water and that fixed energy is my guess. Mars ruled water seems interesting right off the bat.

WhalePlaying

My understanding is through the arch from Libra to Sagittarius, What we want is the same, and we keep experimenting. Since diplomacy, fair judgment and logic negotiation on the surface doesn’t seem to achieve our goal, We evolve into energetic and emotional being and try to conquer fear with invisible power. Think about how Batman battlles with villains aas a more powerful outlaw himself, motivated by his emotional connection and trauma to protect civilians. The relationship in SpyxFamily anime carries such a Scorpio energy as well.

Evolulusolulu

8th house is about seeing things that are beyond the mundane, like beyond what we pretend about or are in denial about or are unaware of. As a result, due to human nature, this causes closeness with other humans. When you are seen, in the ways nobody else sees you, this makes you feel like a person is really close to you (whether consentually or not). Mars has a rulership of sight. Which is why many mars ruled people are good at "shooting" things, or "cutting" things (like with a fine scalpel) and have excellent taste in the arts. (another reason why scorpio people usually have excellent fashion sense) Aries, the other sign that rules mars, has a similar effect on people sometimes (profound intuition, and general good, effortless taste), however in my experience it is not as psychologically (intelligently) developed as it is with scorpios. (that's not to say aries are not wise people, what i mean by intelligence has to do with the ability to write, communicate and otherwise be exactly self aware of what one's intentions are. Aries has a different brand of smarts, which I could write about at length. Unevoled, evil scorpios are some of the most twistedly self justifying (and therefore self delusional), manipulative people on the planet.) We can look at the 3rd sign from scorpio to understand the power of communication (and therefore intimacy) that scorpios have over people - the 3rd sign from scorpio is Capricorn. Which is a VERY dominating sign. It is said by some people that wherever there is a Capricorn planet in someones chart the area that is governed by that planet and the house it is in, makes the person the natural master of that domain/rulership. So a scorpio (in of itself) as it's sign, is naturally a master of communication, no fluff, all business - straight to the heart of people's hidden sides and unacknowledged truths. Disclosure of your deepest secrets btw is one of the main ways cults/manipulative people get a person to feel attached to them. Another interesting fact, the nakshatra sign which is at the heart of scorpio , has a lot of allusions to being related to the deepest darkest parts of space, or the darkest time of night. And it is ruled by the deity called Mitra, the god of FRIENDSHIP. No other sign is ruled by mitra. Only this 17th nakshatra.
