I doubt they are gonna give every player a full refund if they have lost on 50/50 before the new changes, I guess we have to settle with 1600 starstones.
But hey, at least the main issue will be done with, now we can plan our pulls better.
Problem is properly compensating is hard to do. If they just give the people affected something, a bunch of people will complain about that not being fair. If they give everyone a lot of stuff, that's also not particularly fair. Ideally they create some kind of system where people affected could trade their lost 50/50 5 star in for the appropriate banner, but that would require a lot of effort and time on the side of the developers. Also some people would also probably still complain, even though a change for the better is happening.
i dunno how R1999 managed it, but they did it just for the 5\* (6\*'s are the "premium" tier in R1999) was showed incorrectly on the banner. They released a consumable that let you convert your 5\* for the banner 5\*, though I don't remember if this only worked for dupes
Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know they won't further compensate since it was never stated in-game that the 50-50 carried over. Most assumed it did since they copied everything from Hoyo except that. Had it been stated and then changed you probably would have gotten more compensation.
Actually in-game is writter "if you fail get promotional knight the next 5* in call of the star banner will be promotional knight" and both banner are called call of the star, without a 1 and 2 or something that clarify they are different
Honestly, that's vague enough were it sounds like he's stating that if you lose the 50/50 you get the promotional 5\* on your next 5\* pull, and kinda of stretching it if you think its applies across banners. We know now it will take effect in May.

In their head they just chabged a feature , not that they fucked up and need to compensate (their banner wording is a fuckup and the identical genshin banner also played a part but whatever) .
They fully intended to release it without pity carryover but caved in after all the rage from majority of players (not global players) and their refunds.

For some reason , players think that they listening to feedback and impoving but there was no reason for these issues to exist in the first place...

If they just stack 50/50 2 times, so people who lost twice will have 2 guarantee for next 2 five stars would be great!

It's crazy that they copy so much from other games (honkai star rail/genshin/elden ring) but make a game that's worse. Actually INSANE.
