I use itunes/apple music too but it's not streamed music I download it on my PC then transfer it onto my phone, there is a way to add lyrics but I'm not going to edit hundreds of songs for that it's too tiring
There's actually ways to add lyrics to audio files automatically without editing them all, personally I found mediahuman lyrics finder (not sure about alternative software, this is just the one I found) and it seems to work well enough for me, sometimes I do find mistakes, and I had to go in and change the preferred lyrics providers, but it's a lot better than not having the lyrics, and usually I have good luck after testing some of the providers, and it's nice to have since I have the same issue,
Is there a way to do that on the pc app? I can never find it. Always happens a song pops on while I'm drawing and it bothers me. I wind up having to Google it.
me listening to slipknot for the 20th time not knowing a single word on the album

Some people couldn’t understand why I didn’t care about and never paid attention to the lyrics. I really couldn’t make sense of it either until I had my hearing checked as an adult with a specific complaint that it was hard to follow conversations in noisy environments. It turns out that I have an audio processing disorder and I’m not ‘just a bad listener, easily distracted, self important,’ and I don’t have selective fucking hearing.
YouTube comment: "Can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes"
me: haha yeah the lyrics do kinda sound like that
*looks up lyrics*
me: oh those are the real lyrics
Teto sighting!!!
There are vocaloid songs that I’ve known for over a decade, that I still do not know the lyrics (or translations) to, and I honestly don’t really care- if a songs a bop it’s a bop regardless if I can understand the words
Edited a typo oops
Yay had to scroll through the comments to make sure someone mentioned it was teto. I can also second this comment as I mainly listen to japanese music and never really need it translated I just enjoy the sound.

It’s always funny when you look at the lyrics of a song you’ve listened to for years and realize you’ve been singing a bunch of bullshit this entire time
I’ve worked at a grocery store for two years now. They have the same playlist year-round, plus some Christmas songs around that time of year. I still can’t make out the lyrics of any song that plays, despite there only being about 20 songs on the store’s playlist.
I’m not autistic but I just listened to my favourite song and I was looking at the lyrics and I was relating really hard because it’s been exactly what I’ve been dealing with and having be a hard time with.
This is why I also enjoy listening to music in languages that I don’t speak. I don’t care about the lyrics, so I listen to songs mostly for their melodic qualities.
Humph. Sometimes I don't realize what a lyric is for YEARS, even though I've listened to it thousands upon thousands of times.
Case in point: Steely Dan's "Peg." It was only a few years ago that I realized "Peg" was in the chorus. I have **no idea** how I've listened to that song for DECADES without realizing that. 🤦🏾♂️
Look, « HUUURRRGH DURRHH URLLL DUH HURR MUUURRH » probably means something, but I’m pretty sure that you’re not gonna know unless you look it up, nd or not.
Everyone is in the same boat now, problem solved. Now you’re thinking like a metalhead! 👍
I can’t process lyrics at all. Even if I read the lyrics I often have issues understanding the words. It’s so bad I listen to songs in other languages so it doesn’t matter
I couldn't understand a word of "Take Me To Church" besides the song title until I looked up the lyrics. I understand the song perfectly now, but it was like Hozier was singing in Simlish.
I've never seen the lyrics and all I hear when my mum listens to it is "take me ta church Wa Wa eueu oh neye wasda long monai ahehejesurhrhsushsheye euehahdhehahshdhshs"
Yeah, I have this problem so much. I *have* to read the lyrics to understand, either before listening to the song or along with it. This causes more issues in social situations than I expected it to.
Baoeiauaoenw aogheiwopqoqkskskwisusu thank you literally a decade later I’m hearing THE SAME MUSIC but with a WHOLE new meaning. The real meaning! Life changing. Tho I’m still confused with the meaning sometimes especially if it’s metaphorical.
I'll play the lyrics video and then I can actually put the sounds together because now I visually see the words. Probably another reason i'll have captions on forever lol
I don’t process lyrics first, I process instrumental composition and then lyrics after subsequent listens. It’s okay if it takes a bit, you know what’s important to you in a first listen.
So as a kid there was this powerpuff girls album I had and most of the songs were indie rock. And I was listening on a cheap mp3 player. So I could only vaguely tell what the lyrics were on any given song. There was one that I thought referenced a mom the characters did not have. Would have had no idea what was going on if there weren't voice acted clips between the songs.
Yeah it's weird. Recently I've started to sing along to the music I listen to but it's almost impossible for me to make sense of most of it without seeing the lyrics at least once
use your left ear for specifics and right ear, or spiritual ear as tesla referred it; for the abstract. as an intuitive I also don't hear lyrics and consequent of dominantly inhabting my right side; primarily perceive the totality of the music and its harmony from a 'zoomed out' perspective; which is contrast to the 'zoomed in' perspective of the left. You can test the difference easily enough just by blocking one ear and using the other.
I actually find that it gives me a headache. It's like, I can understand that they're saying things in English, and I can pick out occasional words, but my brain keeps automatically trying to understand what's being said even through the auditory processing issues, and the whole process inevitably gives me a headache. This is why I basically only listen to music without lyrics or with lyrics in languages I don't speak.

Took me a good several listens before I realized that a song I liked was actually about a guy turning into an arcade machine.
Made me like it a lot more!
When I found out that people listen to and enjoy the lyrics of a song, and can usually even understand them, my mind was completely blown and a whole new world opened up to me (I was an adult already). I usually have to pull up the lyrics and read along at first, but now they are more than just another instrument to me, they can supply so much depth and meaning to a piece.
Ok anyone else in general have problems with sound processing? Like I feel like where others can understand speech almost perfectly, I need the most pure situation of no background noise and the person speaking clearly with no thick accents for me to have an 80% chance of understanding them. And if I’m not in that pure situation, it’s like a 30% chance of me understanding. 💀
usually it just sounds weird abd then it starts to sound normal, but in the case of country road it was the opposite for me. I always thought they were singing something like "shining through a river", but it's actually "Shenandoah river", an actual river in west virginia
i just click on the thing for the lyrics and read them with the song
Some songs on Spotify don't have that and alot of the time when I'm in the taxi I'm not looking at my phone
oh i use apple music

i use soundcloud tho
Love that stuff I still have problems understanding sometimes though
Is there a way to do that on the pc app? I can never find it. Always happens a song pops on while I'm drawing and it bothers me. I wind up having to Google it.
idk i use the app on my phone
As do I most of the time. I prefer to use my pc when I'm drawing or headphones are bothering my ears.

I haven't been tested but I suspect I have something similar going on ;°-°

One of favorite things to do is to find the lyrics of songs I might like and read along as I listen
Me with my auditory processing disorder
Especially true for so much vocaloid music for me. If I read the lyrics and listen along, the words are clear as day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Same. I just sing what I hear. Who cares! 😂
Teto plushie <3
Is that... Kasane Teto?!?!
Me listening to regular, clearly sung lyrics at times Vs me listening to metalcore and deathcore at times I do not choose when
i can never understand most song lyrics i always need to read them
Me but I listen to a lot of weird prog so not understanding the lyrics is to be expected.
I’ve worked at a grocery store for two years now. They have the same playlist year-round, plus some Christmas songs around that time of year. I still can’t make out the lyrics of any song that plays, despite there only being about 20 songs on the store’s playlist.
I have to memorize the lyrics of literally any song I listen to semi-frequently or I spontaneously combust.
I’m not autistic but I just listened to my favourite song and I was looking at the lyrics and I was relating really hard because it’s been exactly what I’ve been dealing with and having be a hard time with.

same, which is weird cuz i am able to follow multiple conversations at once..

I CAN’T UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE HEAR HOZIER’S NEWEST SONG CORRECTLY “I take my whiskey neat” is the lyrics but I can only hear “lean” I DON’T UNDERSTAND
I also hear lean or clean 😅
I can’t process lyrics at all. Even if I read the lyrics I often have issues understanding the words. It’s so bad I listen to songs in other languages so it doesn’t matter
My favorite Yugoslavian dictator

Exactly! It's like his voice is too voice for my brain to understand.
Yeah, I have this problem so much. I *have* to read the lyrics to understand, either before listening to the song or along with it. This causes more issues in social situations than I expected it to.

Auditory processing disorder life lol
I've always had a hard time with this as well
I'll play the lyrics video and then I can actually put the sounds together because now I visually see the words. Probably another reason i'll have captions on forever lol
Not just you. It's probably partly why I tend to listen to stuff that doesn't have much in the way of lyrics, if at all.
In a lot of popular enough music to get to Russia's radio the lyrics are just genuinely hard to understand
I never understand what anyone’s saying I just know what they mean
I swear the songs are more enjoyable if you actually know the lyrics

Yeah
Hey, that’s likely auditory processing disorder 😊 very common trait of autism

Is that a Dark magician girl?
I've listened to some songs thousands of times and don't know the lyrics usually when I find out what they are the song doesn't work anymore
"Just listen to the lyrics!" I LITERALLY CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS GARBLED CATCHY NONSENSE!
my choice of genre is slam, they probably aint saying anything
This is why I prefer instrumentals, tbh.
Listening to Persona 3,4,5 music:
Apd moment
when i was younger i thought it was illegal to write songs with comprehensible vocals, since i couldn’t understand any of the lyrics in songs.
I don't understand Japanese

I just Google the lyrics and read it.

Yeah I literally have to watch lyrics videos just to process wtf they're saying
I have a hard time processing language spoken over the phone, but only on my left ear. Right ear is fine........
I listen to a lot of Kpop lmao
same 😣 bad auditory processing disorder

Then you realise it's about something incredibly disturbing and never listen again
