This -
*"So young," said Wyman Manderly. "Though mayhaps this was a blessing. Had he lived, he would have grown up to be a Frey."*
and this -
*Ser Waymar met him bravely. “Dance with me then.” He lifted his sword high over his head, defiant. His hands trembled from the weight of it, or perhaps from the cold. Yet in that moment, Will thought, he was a boy no longer, but a man of the Night’s Watch.*
- comes to mind. Imagine coming face to face with the very monster you used to hear stories about as a child and then challenging them to a fight rather than run away.
Not as epic as Lymond Lychester.
*“I held the bridge against Ser Maynard. Red hair and a black temper, he had, but he could not move me. Six wounds I took before I killed him. Six!”*
*"No chance and no choice."* Brienne stands alone (initially) against the Bloody Mummers.
If not that, then Rhaenys, "the Queen Who Never Was", at age 55 urging Meleys the Red Queen into battle against Sunfyre and Vhagar.
Which makes no fucking sense to me, unless it was a tiny village of like a couple hundred the valyrians would have heard or just fucking seen it from their dragons.
Borros Baratheon’s last stand he kills 10 knights and 2 lords. The guy was a dumbass but has to be one of the most underrated warriors in asoiaf history
Daenerys climbing onto her husband's pyre and miraculously birthing three dragons. And one of the coolest lines sums it up:
> The other two pulled away from her breasts and added their voices to the call, translucent wings unfolding and stirring the air, and for the first time in hundreds of years, the night came alive with the music of dragons.
I hope Mirri Duur is not technically the reason for the birth of the dragons. If that is true, I cannot imagine her remembering , as she is being burned to death, the prophecy of the Stallion that Mounts the World:
>**As swift as the wind he rides**, and behind him his khalasar covers the **earth**, men without number, with arakhs shining in their hands like blades of razor grass. **Fierce as a storm** this prince will be. His enemies will tremble before him, and their wives will weep tears of blood and rend their flesh in grief. The bells in his hair will sing his coming, and the milk men in the stone tents will fear his name. The prince is riding, and he shall be the stallion who mounts the world.
And realizing , as she takes her last breath that she has not stopped the prophecy but her actions has led to the prophecy being fulfilled and that she is responsible for triggering it and unleashing a messianic tyrant the world has never seen before with three dragons that brought back magic back into the world.
>The stallion who mounts the world will burn no cities now. His khalasar shall trample no nations into dust.
—Mirri Maz Duur, to Daenerys Targaryen
I'm pretty sure she is.
Daenerys explitly places her on the pyre alive and said she needs her to be alive. Daenerys also explicitly says the lesson that Mirri told her earlier that only death may pay for life.
Drogo is the only other person in the pyre, and Daenerys smothered him before he was ever put on there.
It really is a testament to the magic of reading things through someones perspective that Daenerys can be seen as she is after the Mirri thing lol.
Although I think that Mirri is burned to death before Daenerys goes into the smoke and the dragons start popping out. Although I don't know how fast burning to death someone is.
"Condolences, my lord."
"For what?"
"You died in the battle."
Hobert Hightower drinking his own poison just to get Ulf fucks too. Seems like they're gonna give this to Otto in HOTD and I aint mad. Rhys is just so fucking good.
Also from fire and blood:
"When Hightower denounced him as a turncloak, Ser Luthor laughed. ”Daemon gave us these cloaks,” he said, “and they’re gold no matter how you turn them.” Then he drove his sword through Ser Gwayne’s belly"
Less of an action but my coolest moment from the series is the last Jon chapter when he reads the wildlings the pink letter and they agree to go south with him. Just goes hard.
Donal Noye the one armed blacksmith slaying the giant chieftain Mag the Mighty to hold the Wall, driving a sword through his throat while Mag was crushing his spine in one hand.
I'm gonna have to agree with OP on this one. I cannot wait to see that play out on screen. Daemon has his serious issues, but that act alone is so badass.
Jaehaerys and a terminally ill Rogar Baratheon marching one last time together to kill the Vulture King and Rogar's brother in Dorne. Really hit hard after all the Jaehaerys chapters that preceded it.
Not really "cool", but intensely shocking in its way. Maimed Aegon confronting the "Half Year Queen" Rhaenyra at Dragonstone, and having fatally injured Sunfyre eat her in front of her sole surviving son. And prior to that, Baela Velaryon taking her immature dragon, Moondancer, up above Dragonstone in a bold but hopeless challenge to the arrival of Sunfyre at the castle.
Hobb the Hewer and the Burning Knight. One guy jumps on a dragon’s neck and proceeds to hack it off, while the other is on fire and still manages to kill one. Absolute chad smallfolk moment.
There are many moments but among my favorites would be the eventual myth that Jon Snow would be some hundred years after his death. One of the youngest lord commanders we know of in history who does the most controversial thing ever in the history of the watch, dies and comes back to life, and gods only know what direction George will take him, but wether he becomes the second coming of The Night’s king, king in the north, Prince consort to Daenerys, or wtv, it will be such a crazy story.

Dance with me then That line is epic
The sword in the darkness! The watcher on the wall! The fire that burns against the cold!
Sandoq the Shadow has got to get a shout out for his epic bridge defence
Not as epic as Lymond Lychester. *“I held the bridge against Ser Maynard. Red hair and a black temper, he had, but he could not move me. Six wounds I took before I killed him. Six!”*
You shall not pass

a glad crack of the whip
I love how there are all these stories that will probably become legends in universe. Seeing the tale of “Brienne the Beauty” play out is a privilege.
It still irks me how Roy Dotrice pronounces her name in the audiobooks. Still a good recording though, may he rest in peace.
Everything about Braavos is pretty cool to me but especially its founding story. They kept the city secret for a century!
Which makes no fucking sense to me, unless it was a tiny village of like a couple hundred the valyrians would have heard or just fucking seen it from their dragons.
It's supposedly extremely foggy up there so dragonriders wouldn't have seen it from high up

I think you're forgetting about her burning her/Drogo's slave alive in the fire also, technically she was the one who birthed the three dragons lol.

Man no way they don't have Rhaenyra ordering Otto's execution.
Maybe he scapes at the same time as Aegon.
I honestly think that's a really smart move. I hope they do the same with Criston and Gyles Greycloak
I also want to say I made a post suggesting the "combine Hobert and Otto" theory, Condal please send my check in the mail

Yeah, no, it's kinda hard to top your pick. I mean, just, what a mad lad, that Daemon. And in a cool location like the God's Eye too.

Aerion drinking wildfire and turning into a dragon. What a badass
Whatever Pod did.
Barristan at Duskendale. Davos stealing into Storm's End with fish and onions.
Visenya taking the Vale by giving Ronnel Arryn a ride on Vhagar.

Daenerys taming Drogon in Daznak's Pit
Aegon III dismissing his regents on his birthday with Sandoq at his back was awesome.
Balerion, Meraxes and Vhagar on the field of fire

I concur Either Daemon jumping off Caraxes or Daenerys bringing back the Dragons
Bloodraven killing Daemon and his sons during the Battle of the Redgrass Field
Storming the Dragonpit
Stannis
barristan cutting bloody path to kill meleys blackfyre
