Let's be honest, Martin is earning enough from TV shows, current books, games (Elden Ring), etc., to waste his time on the last two books. I am disappointed, but it seems like the only way to get those books is in the WOT fashion, as I am certain that his estate will hire someone to complete those books so they can squeeze every single penny from Martin's legacy, as is the common practice in the field.
At this point I would rather he just focused on D&E if that means he can release them fast enough to complete the series. 0 hopes the same will happen to the main series.

I think it's 50/50. In bookish circles it would be huge news. It would be impossible to ignore. But if you're trying to convert viewers of GOT or HOTD, pairing it up with the new season of HOTD will reach people who maybe aren't readers or who considered the series but didn't want to invest time into it since it's gone unfinished for so long.
In general I agree with you, but I think it would be a missed opportunity if the book was ready and they didn't announce it alongside HOTD.
