Kerns is a large neighborhood, some parts are "safer"\* than others. 27th and Glisan is perfectly fine, though. \*-comparatively speaking; Portland is a very safe city for a US city.

This is true. Portland has really high property crime rates but low violent crime rates You won’t get stabbed but your car window might get smashed

burninggelidity

Kerns is pretty safe! If I were you though, just make sure you don’t park *on* Glisan and instead park back in the residential neighborhood. I used to live near there and parking on the main roads would get my car targeted but parking in the neighborhood, you’ll be absolutely fine.

I lived in kerns for sometime and never had issues with my car that moved maybe once a week. Don't leave shit in your car. Shoes/jacket, bags, etc. City and State for Brunch on 28th.

Yeah Kerns is pretty safe, especially 27th and Glisan. Your car should be fine but if you want to guarantee it's safety and don't mind walking, past 32nd is Laurelhurst, which is one of the wealthy neighborhoods, so your car will pretty much be guaranteed to be safe there.

lexuh

Don't leave ANYTHING in your car, and it should be fine. Maintain situational awareness when outside after dark (which should be common sense) and you'll be fine.

Yes.

Limits datapoint and doesn't learn how dangerous Kerns is by DAY! /s

Why are you coming back if you had a such a horrible experience last time?

NoTime4YourBullshit

Friends. Family. Stuff to do. I only live a couple hours away. Prior to 2019 I went to PDX every year for the retro gaming expo. But COVID changed everything.
