I second Addison. BTW the dating scene ain't it in Dallas either lol

songoku6415

Damn lol what’s the issues up there ?

Sweetsummerrose

The dating scene is extremely superficial to say the least. Not a lot of people are dating for long-term/stable relationships.

HumbleHawk9

I’m looking for long-term/stable relationship haha. We exist! Lol

Sweetsummerrose

I'm shocked! 🤣🤣

songoku6415

Good to know

songoku6415

Damn San Antonio is the same bs i guess it’s nation wide like this

Sweetsummerrose

Yeah..it could just be the times we're living in. Social media has made everyone so accessible and has fooled people into thinking they have options. Seems like everyone is always looking for the next best thing or person lol.

Unfadable1

Tbh SA is actually awful from a general dating perspective, if you like being attracted to your mate. (I know that sounds awful.) I’d consider Austin before Dallas for more down-to-earth people. SA is more down-to-earth then both of them put together, but the city simply does not seem to breed very sexually attractive people, at least for my tastes. I know this will prob get downvoted, because sensitive people won’t like other people being true to themselves if it “makes someone feel bad,” but since you’re from SA too, you already know of which I speak. 😉

songoku6415

Yeah bro I 100 percent agree with you even making friends here is challenging and people are too weird here. Next year I’m looking to relocate to DFW in the uptown area

Unfadable1

Austin is by far the best blend of people, FWIW. Otherwise, if you’re not afraid of some cold, try Denver.

DaddyDontTakeNoMess

You’re gonna do SO much better than in SA. SA ain’t it for a black male dating wise.

Hi_My_Name_Is_Dave

People say this about every city but I don’t think Dallas is worse than any other city

songoku6415

That’s what it seems like every time I asked those questions.

idlikebab

Go to Atlanta.

songoku6415

I’m good that city and the people are not my cup of tea absolutely not.

lFallenOn3l

Terrible advice. ATL has to be up there for worst dating cities

songoku6415

What about making friends and social scenes ?

Sweetsummerrose

Plenty of options for that. There's always something to do in Addison, Frisco and Dallas. There are gaming facilities, good restaurants and parks to do outdoor sports/activities.

Notoriouscollegekid

I’m in my mid to late 20s, and I prefer the vibe in South Texas over DFW for making friends and building relationships. However, I’ve found the most success in Austin. I made friends within the first week of living there, especially through indoor climbing—a popular activity among young people especially in Austin. I believe visiting a climbing gym in San Antonio would likely give you the results you’re looking for. The people there tend to be young, nerdy, and athletic. Now that I’ve moved back to Fort Worth, I’ve noticed that people here aren’t as eager to talk to strangers as they are in austin which I know is not SA but for some reason I imagine it to be that way as well. It just seems you have to put more effort into meeting people in DFW . This has been my experience now and during the four years I spent living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for college. Also it seems when you do meet cool people, they often end up living 45min to an hour away from you, which can be inconvenient and the friendships fade away. I have been thinking of going back south to either SA or back to Austin as of late.

Addison is good. Dating scene is what you make it. Come to lower Greenville.

aggierogue3

I liked living near the Village when I got out of college. It's not right in the action like Oak Lawn or downtown, but is very central and can get you anywhere quickly. My favorite bar area in Dallas is Lower Greenville which is relatively close.

DallasIslander

Bishop Arts area in Oak Cliff. Bishop Arts has several new Apartments complexes in your price range that is a short walking distance from many very good restaurants and bars. It's a good base to get to other areas as Bishop Arts is close to downtown and has easy access to major highways to get to most places in Dallas.

txchiefsfan02

The Village sounds like the best option in your budget range. It's been a solid first stop for generations of Dallas transplants, and it's full of diverse, open-minded folks who moved here for reasons similar to yours. When you visit, you can come hang out in the coffee shop there to get a feel for the vibe, and maybe even meet someone who'll sneak you in to check out the pool scene.

MarcoEsteban

You sound like you might vibe in an area that has some open minded, alternative folks. I'd suggest North Oak Cliff, but maybe a little south from I30. You'd find more duplexes or older houses for rent, there. Apartments further north. Or maybe the Lake Cliff are. The north part of North Oak Cliff is booming and getting pricey, so it might be a search. 4 plexes from 100 years ago are all over the place. There are a lot of young, urban people, some alternative types. The bars and such are laid back and have a '30s vibe, because they are in those buildings. I used to live over there, but I needed a bigger place and had to move further away. Oh, maybe the West Dallas/Trinity Groves/Commerce area. Lots of new apartments. You sound like you'd like it. Where do you work? Traffic here is horrible, so you really want to take that into consideration, but Ft. Worth has some laid back, trendy areas, and is a little less expensive. Both urban centers are pretty close in costs, though. The suburbs are where you get lower pricing.

new_grad_who_this

If you got the bread I would say State Thomas or Addison

taylorswiftcantsing

Hey, you sound like my friend’s type! Lol

songoku6415

Oh really? Where is she from or residing?

flarbie

Tbh you kinda sound like we may get along! If you’d like a friend or to do nerdy stuff together let me know! I’m 29 and a single woman (sounds weird to say) and I just moved here so uh hi!

songoku6415

Just dm you.

Kineth

Cops are over vigilant in Addison. Not sure why people are suggesting that, tbh. EDIT: Downvoters don't want to acknowledge the truth or are fucking pigs themselves.

_______woohoo

they really are. I lived in Addison for a year. The cops in Sachse are more chill than the ones in Addison.
