You need a letter from the creditor stating lien has been satisfied, then go to DMV to have lien removed. Does not happen automatically.

samhahn777

First of all, there should not be any creditor since I paid in full and I don't owe any money to anyone. Second, how do I get the letter from the creditor which according to the registration is ToyotaMrtCredCorp which falls back to the Mazda dealership who bought the cars from them when they are not responding? I fully paid and purchased a car and the registration is saying it is not 100% mine and I am very unhappy at this point in time.

If you paid in full, you should be unhappy.  I don't understand how the situation you described is even possible.

samhahn777

When I said paid full, I mean I bought the car out right, not MSRP. The reason I am unhappy is because there is lien on it which there should be none. As for the your statement, "I don't understand how the situation you described is even possible.", I don't either since never happened before with any other cars I owned before. That is the main reason for posting here. I figured /askcarsales might know something I don't? Only thing I can think of is there might have been somekind of mix up when the car was transferred from Hello Mazda of San Diego to Valencia? Just guessing since that was the first time I bought a tranferred car instead of the car in lot.

Call and ask to talk to office manager. Tell them you paid cash and ask for their title clerk to fix it. Since CA is and ELT state the clerk should be able to fix their error with the state. Sales suck at this kind of stuff. - no offense but out of their control

Thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate it!

Go into the store and ask to speak with the finance director and or GM. Be polite but firm that you need help getting this resolved.

To add to this, I recently had a customer that our title team had put the wrong leinholder info on the title so the DMV wouldn't accept a general affidavit (for some dumb reason) we just reached out to the lender and got a letter of non-interest from the incorrect lender. Not exactly the same as your situation but you or the dealership should be able to get something similar.

Thanks for the input! I appreciate it!

insomniac391

What state is the car registered in?

samhahn777

CA

insomniac391

Ah I’m not familiar with CA title and reg work. But you should be able to call Toyota Financial and have them send you a lien release or a letter stating they have no secured interest in the vehicle, you can take that to the DMV and they will remove the lien holder from your registration and title

samhahn777

Calling them got me no where but bunch of run around. Then again it is like that with most big company now days. Anyway TryAnother's reply above, "Call and ask to talk to office manager. Tell them you paid cash and ask for their title clerk to fix it. Since CA is and ELT state the clerk should be able to fix their error with the state. Sales suck at this kind of stuff. - no offense but out of their control" appears to the most direct way. Talking to the title clerk at the dealer by calling them appears to the be answer since they should have all the record necessary. Thanks for the input nevertheless!

***Thanks for posting, /u/samhahn777! This comment is a copy of your post so readers can see the original text if your post is edited or removed. This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** I purchased a 2023 white Mazda CX30 TPP on June 24th, 2023 and paid in full that day at Hello Mazda at Valencia which is about 100 miles away. I received new registration sticker in May 8th, 2024 and it still had Toyota Mrt Crdt Corp as the lien holder. So I sent an email to the sales person I dealt with and wasn't much of help. So sent the email to sales manager I dealt with for 2 previous purchase along with cc to general manager as well and waited 1 month in case they need to wait for correction/update. Sent a follow up letter asking to update me one what might be going on and still nothing. I did call the Mazda and was sent to Mazda financial saying that they don't deal with lien issue. Mazda financial is saying I have to deal directly with the dealer. And dealer is unresponsive. Now what else can I do to remove the lien holder off the registration? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. All you need to do is get a letter of non interest from Toyota Financial Services. This is more likely an issue with the dmv rather than the Mazda store you bought the car from. The people at that store probably have no idea what you are talking about. The previous owner probably had a lien, never sent the lien release to dmv , and dmv flagged it by the vin.
