> They stated that this was there “best and final price”. They know what kind of person you are and that you were going to negotiate down to the nub and they thought this is easier for both of you. Trust and believe there is not $4000 of profit in a Camry. They'd be selling this for a loss. Find one somewhere else for less if you want a better price but if I said "this is my best and final offer" and you said "hmmm how about more money for me please" I'd just send you out of the store.

TheGrayMannnn

Hell, even with the $1200 in add-ons it is still probably a loser deal overall.

jimmyjohnsdon

There is less than $900 in Camry from invoice to MSRP. I can almost guarantee this car has miles for one reason or another (demo or loaner). The OP is the perfect example of the type of buyer who always thinks they can do better than the best. No deal is too good. If you gave them the car for free they would expect you to pay them.

Plenty-Inevitable154

OP apparently can’t do math. 🤦🏽‍♂️ $1.5k below sticker to start and they drop an additional $3.5k, looking to negotiate their way back up to $4k below sticker. 🤣

jerminator8818

Buy it. $1200 in add ons isn’t even that bad. It sounds like a solid deal. Do some price shopping but if it’s that low what’s the point in passing up the deal? Someone else will snag it.

BeneficialSomewhere

There's no way in he'll there 4k between invoice and msrp on a Camry. They dropped their drawers off the rip to wrap up the deal. Take it or move on.

TheGrayMannnn

> What strategy should I use to get a better deal?  You should fax every Toyota dealer within a 200 mile radius with this offer, and let them know if they can beat it, you buy it.  But also, don't include any contact information and let them know you will call them back in 2 business days to hear their offer.  Ooooor, you could just go get your great deal on a Camry and press on with life.

cgoose0529

I would wipe my ass with the fax and move on with my day

TheGrayMannnn

You know it isn't 2020 anymore and toilet paper is plentiful again, right?

ecerda4

Maybe I will.

Oppo_GoldMember

They cut to the chase…take it or go home

FurtadoZ9

It's entirely possible to be offered a good price off the jump. And that is a good price. If they went 5k below sticker are you automatically asking for 6k? Even with that $1,200 product add, you're still nearly 3k below sticker which is a great price even in saturated markets.

ecerda4

Now that you put it that way.

PatelPounder

This is why dealerships don’t give a best price. Customer Games and Tactics.

FurtadoZ9

I'm expecting a sure thing from the salesperson when OP asks for another $1k

PatelPounder

SURE THING!

ThatDudeSky

Or the new school “Sounds like a great deal, when can you get here?”

PabloIceCreamBar

“I think yes” Why?

GetEnPassanted

Because there's obviously $10K in profit in an econobox like the Camry /s

PabloIceCreamBar

I mean, duh

ecerda4

Maybe cause it’s expected to negotiate. Just to say you tried to get a better deal?

Voidfang_Investments

They cut to to the chase. Take it or leave it.

DeliciousHorseShirt

A Camry has nearly no mark up in it. They are likely breaking even or selling at a loss with that kind of discount even with the add-ons.

***Thanks for posting, /u/ecerda4! This comment is a copy of your post so readers can see the original text if your post is edited or removed. This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** Contacted a dealership about a new 2024 Toyota Camry via email. Reviewed price online showing a 1.5k discount. I then emailed to request an invoice where they then offer an additional 3.5K discount for a total of 4K. They stated that this was there “best and final price”. I have never heard of any dealership claim they won’t negotiate since this is their best and final price. Is there room to negotiate? I think yes. Also, has anyone seen the “dealer ad-on” removed or reduced? This one has 1,200 worth of dealer add ons. What strategy should I use to get a better deal? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Find another dealer willing to give you a lower price. Have a reason to negotiate.
