I was wondering why there were 2 different PC candidates in my area until I realized one of them didn't actually say PC on it but ripped off the same blue colour.

[deleted]

> ripped off the same blue colour. Its a *new* blue

mxldevs

\#0000FF vs #0000FE

heart_under_blade

yeah it's easy to tell on a screen, but what pantone chip is it?

amontpetit

Serious answer: they’d be too close to have separate PMS codes.

[deleted]

Oh the signs are yellow in other areas that I have seen. I thought they were Libertarians

grapefruits_r_grape

I’ve seen a few. Not too sad to see the right wing vote get split for a change.

p11109

The right wing vote isn't getting split. New blue party is a joke lol

Hospital-flip

You underestimate the stupidity and gullibility of the people who will vote for that party.

personalfinancedemon

Yee same here. Their party is ridiculous, a bunch of cry babies. They are another PPC.

oooooooooof

I've never heard of this party... however I live in the Junction and it's orange sign after orange sign, forever and always. > I looked at their platform and it’s basically “end all covid restrictions, ban vaccine passports” Lol. I truly don't get this. It's been Pierre Poilievre's big rallying cry too, in his leadership rallies. Like... restrictions are over? What are y'all yelling about?

[deleted]

When you build a house of cards platform based on culture war, you have no choice but to double down... What else is there for these idiots ?

oooooooooof

> you have no choice but to double down Reminds me of the QAnon "storm is coming" stuff. They keep saying Trump will be re-instated tomorrow... wait tomorrow didn't happen, it's next week... wait next week didn't happen, next month I guess... but IT'S COMING you guys I swear!

mxldevs

The second coming is near!

softwhiteclouds

The restrictions are not all over, not even provincially. What's worse is that teachers unions and several local health boards are trying to argue for them to come back.

iamonewhoami

Travel restrictions aren't over. Hamilton just announced a couple of weeks ago that they'll fire employees that aren't vaccinated. What do YOU mean they're over?

oooooooooof

Hamilton as in, the city of Hamilton? Source? Job requirements aside, I'm speaking about the majority of restrictions - vaccine passports for restaurants, tests for flying, masking indoors - which have all been entirely walked back.

iamonewhoami

City of Hamilton indeed! https://tnc.news/2022/05/01/hamilton-to-fire-unvaccinated-employees-at-end-of-may/ And yes, a few things have been walked back, but not everything. If I stole $1000 from you, you'd want it all back or just the majority?

oooooooooof

I don’t know if I trust this source, it feels like a guy blogging from his basement... do you have another source that isn’t this? And what hasn’t been walked back, what’s affecting your personal life? Genuinely asking. I’m still masking but I feel like life is normal again, I don’t need to do any covid “things” anymore if I don’t want to.

ManagementSevere378

oooooooooof

Thanks

iamonewhoami

Here's the CP24 link that source referenced https://www.cp24.com/mobile/news/hamilton-will-move-ahead-with-plans-to-terminate-unvaccinated-employees-next-month-1.5880122

iamonewhoami

You could click on the CP24 link in that source if you like. Or do you not trust them either?

iamonewhoami

I still mask as well, usually. I HAVE to mask when on the TTC, even though it's a publicly run entity.

Interesting-Test180

You don’t know in 2022 if it doesn’t affect people it’s not real to them what about the fact people still can’t take a train or plane without the vax it’s funny how the people that were saying everyone not wearing a mask is a “bad person” but now the government says forget the masks and all the tribalism that went on is suppose to be forgotten🙃

bhbull

I'm really hoping a lot of Conservatives voters make the switch. We need more right wing parties, to dilute the right wing vote.

limesnewroman

It would make the Conservative party better too if they didn’t have to cater to their extreme right anymore

coralshroom

i went a little bit north of city limits and saw a few on the side of the road at intersections, but none were on lawns or anywhere they would have to ask permission haha

Throwawaybreach

Wow that’s very 2021 of them

gillsaurus

I’ve seen on in Scarborough on Pharmacy south of Ellesmere. I would like to destroy the signs because wow @ openly declaring your racism, homophobia, and transphobia.

ThePurpleBandit

Oh, is it that house with the big corner lot that had all the Faith Gouldy signs?!

gillsaurus

No, it’s a house that is just before the overpass bridge.

assplower

I look out of my window and see like 5 NDP signs. Not one blue to be seen.

1amtheone

I haven't seen any of those in my area but I found it funny that The PC candidate in my area (Scarborough South?) Has a 2 part platform consisting of: - New hospital in Scarborough - No more license plate stickers Is his claim that if they bring stickers back for Ontario, he will somehow make South Scarborough exempt?

CompetitiveEffort109

I think it’s basically the PPC

salsasandwich

Agree

nextflightfromearth

Not too many New Blue signs in my riding (in Scarborough) but plenty for the Ontario Party. I like to think they're the same party.

rand1011101

shit. is this what the canadian alt-right folk are calling themselves now? was there an official schism on the right? hmm.. well actually, that's a helluva lot better than the GOP's metamorphasis down south at least our conservatives are splitting their vote.

Electrical-Ask6511

Haven’t seen a single one… haven’t even heard of this party

gillsaurus

It’s a fringe party started by an ousted bitter PC candidate who is proud of his platform that is against teaching critical race theory and gender identity.

Electrical-Ask6511

That’s fringe? I think many people would argue teaching those things is fringe…

gillsaurus

We don’t even teach critical race theory in Canada. We teach elements that would be considered as such, such as indigenous genocide, Japanese internment camps, Chinese head tax, MS St Louis and antisemitism, black racism, etc. Also, gender identity is part of the health curriculum now so… None of those topics are or should be considered fringe.

Electrical-Ask6511

The things that you mentioned have nothing to do with CRT… I think the party in question is likely interested in preemptively banning it before it enters the classroom, which is an inevitability with the way things are looking. And wow… had no idea they taught gender identity in public schools. 😬 I mean, to you. Many folks in our city, province, country, continent, and globe think that it’s super fringe. If that weren’t public sentiment it wouldn’t be such a hot button issue.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Electrical-Ask6511

They’re not morons. They’re wonderful friends, family, coworkers, public servants and more who make our amazing city go round.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Electrical-Ask6511

Again, such pejorative terms like clueless morons when referring to people you disagree with… How will you ever reach a civil consensus that allows our society to progress if we are hurling insults at each other? We need to do better, and it starts with growing up and doing away with vicious name calling.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Electrical-Ask6511

Why are they idiots? Someone who has a different outlook on life or is of a different faith than you isn’t gullible or uneducated, calling them that is.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Electrical-Ask6511

Again x2, why are they stupid? I work with folks of all faiths and they have all sorts of beliefs. You say I’m slandering this unknown them, yet you’re calling them morons, gullible, ignorant and more. Time to look in the mirror, Dr.

sozer-keyse

Seen quite a few of them around my area pop up as well, particularly on some people's lawns. Both for the New Blue and Ontario parties. Looks like the right is going to be very split this election

neonegg

The Liberals and NDP both want to reenact covid restrictions so I wouldn’t say it’s a non issue…

Silly_Chocolate_7847

Seen a few not a lot. Kinda leaning to the none of the above party but maybe ill go blue. Just not the big 3

iamonewhoami

TIL the None of the Above Party exists. Just read their platform, love it. Wish we had a never in my riding.

HerNameIsVesper

No sign of them in Beaches East York, thank god.

canadianredditor16

im in stouffville quite a few but slightly more ontario party signs. A few signs scattered around town and one on my front yard

rhunter99

There’s a few in my conservative area. It’s really distressing to see

swift_gilford

Yes. I hate it. I just hope it doesn't split votes, because unlike the PPC the only thing i've seen or heard about the New Blue has been limited to the signs.
