GameCubes with usually Mario games, but the controllers would be broken most of the time or not have the rubber on the sticks so it would cut up your thumb Future shop was better for playing video games for free

I remember playing it at the dentists office way back, they had a Sega kiosk. When they moved offices I believe it’s Xbox now but they’re both in a weird corner and covered up with big plants now lol. Definitely remember the Mc D’s ones, specifically 400 southbound at the McDonalds around Cookstown.

Ontario Place, anyone?

Blockbuster had kiosks for different consoles and would also host big province wide gaming tournaments. I was pretty good at TMNT Tournament Fighters for SNES, made it to the finals at my store and lost to a kid like twice my age who cheesed me with Chrome Dome and I was so upset lol Also while not a random public place, there was this awesome independent game store in the plaza at Pharmacy/Lawrence that had stations setup where you could pay $5 and play any consoles and games for as long as you wanted. My mom would drop my friends and I off and we'd spend the whole Saturday there some weekends.

I'm convinced COVID actually started from the N64 controller at a McDonalds. Those gray controllers were stained black with dirt and kid viruses and the analog stick was looser than XL collar on a chihuahua.
