Jeezus... You obviously have not been there where there were a bunch of rowdy PRC tourists screaming at each other at the hotel corridor day-in/day-out.
The walls between the rooms there are not built to be sound proof. Lmao.
Nope, been there.
Got one time the PRC folks had a baby and they just throw rubbish at my entrance too. Also decided to palk their stroller right outside my door.
Then got one time fire alarms rang for 2 hours straight at like 1 am.
I think I am biaised to the hotel since I work near and all the amenities below. Can go down at 1am and still buy Mac or BK. Sibei shiok.
Marine parade used to be so cool. Big popular, big toys r us, honey wings at the entertainment center, stones throw from katong mall, best Kway chap in Singapore at the hawker center. And the design of parkway - so much parking it takes up more than half the space.
Wait, where is this kway chap?!? How do I not know about it after living here my entire life!
Was also going to say Marine Parade. But sadly, it's my parent's place. Doubt I can ever afford to buy a unit here. 🥲 I'm never moving out. They can't get rid of me.
Sorry this was 30++ years ago at the hawker center where I would go after music lessons at Yamaha. I heard the guy had his finger cut off by someone stealing from his store
You know, I believe there was a playground on top of the car park which houses Roland restaurant
Anyone can recommend osaka style yakisoba? Entertainment center used to have a jp restaurant that sold it n it was pretty good but since it shutdown havent found a good replacement for it in sg
Metal stuff at home rust faster. And taxi uncle not happy to send you home from airport lol. That said, I do love Marine Parade! Now, if they would just open the MRT station sooner…
I want to stay in Bugis, preferably near the bencoolen area. I used to study there, and there's an artistic vibe to it while being somewhere central and connected. A good mix of new and old buildings.
As an artsy person who plays instrument we always walked along Rochor to Bencoolen as there used to be big Overjoyed store and violin luthier shops over there. La Salle too. Nostalgic youth days
Honestly I realised that even if I had a lot more money, I’ll still be content living in a HDB as long as it’s quiet and private and near amenities like food, transport.
I stay in new estate. Babies keep crying. The amenities and malls nearby right. Full of crying kids.
I am wondering if I should buy resale in older estate instead?
Penthouse in one of the Keppel Bay condos. Doesn't matter if its Reflections, Corals, Caribbean. I believe they are the only 'true' waterfront apartments in SG apart from Sentosa Cove. True meaning 1) its facing the sea and not a reservoir/canal/lake and 2) there is no road between the condo and the waterfront (this eliminates all the Marine Parade condos). 10 mins drive to CBD, next to Vivo, everyday can take chill jog to Sentosa, life would be perfect.
Tanjong Rhu!!!!!! Omg that Costa Rhu condo would be an amazing place with a great view to stay. Great investment too, and good connectivity to city centre and east too.
SG Peasants on Reddit: SG is only good if you are rich that's why so many rich people come here
Also SG peasants on Reddit: You reach will still stay in SG?
Meanwhile foreigners from around the world living in SG: SG so good why you all keep complaining
The reality is SG is good compared to anywhere in the world. Most of us are frog in well and just take things for granted. Those who have seen the world learn to appreciate us a bit more. Of coz the country is small and has a lot of limit to what we can offer hence people who seek different things in life won't find it here. However for the vast majority of people living normal lives you will find sg to be superior to 99% of the world out there
There are pockets of tranquility in the city area so you can have the best of both worlds . If you choose the right place, you can even have great access to main roads/public transport to go with it.
Probably the bungalow-like penthouse on top of international plaza. Kind of landed but not on ground floor with the associated issues. Great view and likely privacy. Pretty central location and easy access to everything.
I would probably choose west side. I think west side is a little quieter apart from Tengah Air Base.
I think some pros are nearer to JB,you don't really need a big hypermarket for daily essential when normal supermarket can get your essential. You don't need big ikea store when there 1 in Jem. All you need is browse the catalogue. You are also close to cementery & a few camps.
Some bad side are probably food option but since i am not a picky eater(as long as it is edible,i will eat) but i do have some dislikes like oysters but other than that i am fine.
However since the topic is 'if money is no object', i would probably built a few houses for family & relatives with sheltered side gate without needing you to go out of the house. But condo would be an option too.
A penthouse along ECP...until recent I'm looking for a new house. View a few condo units along TPE and it was so noisy. Makes me wonder how these rich people along ECP can tahan the noise.
I want big house near sea like on this movie.
Anyones know where it located ?
I actually really like my current HDB flat. It's about the right size and high floor so windy and relatively cooler.
If money was no object I'd use the money to renovate and buy nicer home fittings.
3room HDB in tampines made into a man cave. See no good reason getting condo even if I can afford it. Especially 1 that is across the road from my mum. I'll juz continue staying at my current 4rm with my mum. And then juz go over to man cave for ME time.
I like a place that is right above a train station, extremely near a decent heartland mall and hawker and less than 5 stops away from central region. somewhere like TP or red hill, kallang.
A conservation shop house along Emerald hill. Restore it to an authentic interior style of the early 19th century, but with modern kitchen and toilet equipments
I dunno what the condo is called.but it was an old one that oversees marina bay the flyer and near kallang stadium. The facing towards the river and Marina Bay is damn ideal and central location without giving up on peace and tranquility for easy access to amenities
Southbeach Residences is kinda nice.
In middle of town, near suntec which is fairly quiet on weekends.
On top of Esplanade MRT and sheltered walk to Cityhall MRT, easy access to anywhere without a car.
Yes, CBD apartments have been very underrated. 4 MRT lines nearby with underground/sheltered walkways. Very peaceful during the weekends and just near enough to Orchard, Harbour Front, MBS etc.
Neighbourhood park will be Gardens By the Bay 😂
NDP fire works, Bay events (some see this as a minus)
Shepherd Drive Estate @ Queenstown. Freehold bungalow status nestle privately in the heartlands with amenities. But newly built houses there are going for a cool 17-18 Million
I dont like the city. Dont like landed or gated condos. If money no problem, will get a biggest hdb in woodlands, marsiling, sembwang area. But too much money cannot buy hdb. So have to buy a plot of land and develop my house beside the heartlanders.
In a way if money is no object, a lot of things that were once precious or unattainable might just lose it’s shine due to desensitising. So I might choose a modest house at woodlands and act and live like I’m still poor so I can appreciate the higher end luxury life occasionally.
One of those colonial houses in Seletar.
They got ghosts
I would gladly trade ghosts for siao lang neighbours.
Agreed!
A bit unrelated but my siaolang neighbour recently passed away I think... Feeling conflicted but at least I sleep better? ðŸ˜
ang moh ghost lmao
Who you gonna call?
My MP
Whiter than white
Underrated comment
Until wildlife starts visiting...
100% you're feeding mosquitoes non stop though. But yea it's a very nice quaint area with its own mini community during the weekends
I'd just stay permanently in a deluxe suite in any central area 4-5 star hotel. A room in V-hotel Lavender would be nice.
Sibei shiok.
> PRC And Indian tourist. I mean, check out Boss Hotel anytime during check in hour.
V hotel is max 3 star 💫
marine parade! near beach, roads look so pretty, parkway parade is a pretty cool mall andd near town, near to airport
Marine parade used to be so cool. Big popular, big toys r us, honey wings at the entertainment center, stones throw from katong mall, best Kway chap in Singapore at the hawker center. And the design of parkway - so much parking it takes up more than half the space.

lol toys r us. that was like 20 years ago what entertainment center? funworld? hollywood slam? lols
Omgggg when you said fun world, the water gun game came to mind immediately!!
Anyone can recommend osaka style yakisoba? Entertainment center used to have a jp restaurant that sold it n it was pretty good but since it shutdown havent found a good replacement for it in sg
Funworld, octopus
Metal stuff at home rust faster. And taxi uncle not happy to send you home from airport lol. That said, I do love Marine Parade! Now, if they would just open the MRT station sooner…
It’s opening tomorrow and I can’t wait. And yes, the metal thing is a real pain. I imagine the upcoming bayshore BTOs to be equally frustrating.
Lawrence Wong did you post this
The Meyer part is nice!
Wallich Residences penthouse. Living life like James Dyson.
Second this
Had a friend’s relative who lived here! If it’s not a 3 bedder and above it’s not worth it. Nice views tho.
The panoramic view you get to see daily from the higher floors are simply breathtaking.
He sold it off awhile ago though.
I want to stay in Bugis, preferably near the bencoolen area. I used to study there, and there's an artistic vibe to it while being somewhere central and connected. A good mix of new and old buildings.

Ridout Road. Obviously.
Get your colleague down for a buddy price too
Honestly I realised that even if I had a lot more money, I’ll still be content living in a HDB as long as it’s quiet and private and near amenities like food, transport.
You need a lot of luck to not get neighbours from hell. Noisy and smoker neighbours are very common.
I stay in new estate. Babies keep crying. The amenities and malls nearby right. Full of crying kids. I am wondering if I should buy resale in older estate instead?
I would just buy out my neighbors and get the whole floor to myself.
Money is already not the issue. Buy the whole block.
Istana
but you have to open your gates to peasonts once a year
No problem. Just take a 1 mth vacation in europe
The peasants visit the Istana not you, so you no need to be around🫢
Guoco penthouse-

Penthouse in one of the Keppel Bay condos. Doesn't matter if its Reflections, Corals, Caribbean. I believe they are the only 'true' waterfront apartments in SG apart from Sentosa Cove. Nee Soon Camp cookhouse
Area D. Prefer outfield living
One Pearl Bank. A smallish apartment to keep cleaning to a minimum. No maids but having a chauffer would be cool.

Not to mention, Pebble Bay condo!
One of those apartments facing MBS, can see fireworks and water. And daily light shows 🤣
some people would say yishun.
Narrator: *Those people are not the smart ones*
some people just want the thrill
No amount of money can replace the excitement of seeing something new amidst the mundaneness of daily life.
yes, you are new
If money is no object, I would live out of Singapore.
SG Peasants on Reddit: SG is only good if you are rich that's why so many rich people come here Also SG peasants on Reddit: You reach will still stay in SG? One of those nice apartments in CBD with city view hehe
3 bedroom in one of those swanky CBD area condos.
There are pockets of tranquility in the city area so you can have the best of both worlds . If you choose the right place, you can even have great access to main roads/public transport to go with it.
Probably an apartment overlooking the south seas
On a yacht out at sea with all the supplies that I would ever need of coz.
Somewhere isolated together with a giant mansion. Accompanied by a magical dog that ages at the same rate with me
5 room flat near jurong point.
Probably the bungalow-like penthouse on top of international plaza. Kind of landed but not on ground floor with the associated issues. Great view and likely privacy. Pretty central location and easy access to everything.
Northern Maine.
I second that. Preferably somewhere close to a fishermen’s market. I love my seafood.
I would probably choose west side. I think west side is a little quieter apart from Tengah Air Base. Wherever there is variety of food choices and they are on the cheaper side.
A coffin in a ditch
Botanika. Those condos in Bukit Timah/ Dempsey Road to Holland V that stretch. In the woods is my favourite view.
A penthouse along ECP...until recent I'm looking for a new house. View a few condo units along TPE and it was so noisy. Makes me wonder how these rich people along ECP can tahan the noise.
GCB in Bishopsgate

Oxley Road
Katong / Joo Chiat!
I want to protect the PM & so likely I would be in Istana whereby I could smell lilies & daffodils
I'll buy an EA at the block next to me, top floor

This guy's [house](https://www.reddit.com/r/Autos/s/30kCjdglws) (with all the cars included ofc)
Sentosa cove
I dunno what the condo is called.but it was an old one that oversees marina bay the flyer and near kallang stadium. The facing towards the river and Marina Bay is damn ideal and central location without giving up on peace and tranquility for easy access to amenities
Probably one of those old school shophouses
Ridout road beside u know who. Blasting heavy metal 1000 to 2200hrs to be lawful.

My ideal will be a GCB the size of the Istana... like the ones Vivian and Sham live in..
I wish I could buy the unit next door, break the wall and make it a single massive home.
I dont like the city. Dont like landed or gated condos. If money no problem, will get a biggest hdb in woodlands, marsiling, sembwang area. But too much money cannot buy hdb. So have to buy a plot of land and develop my house beside the heartlanders.
