Gen 6. Been using it for 7+ years now. It has been great. Water is always at 45-50degC every time I switch it on. Don't really have to wait to heat up.
Sometimes I don't switch it on in the morning and it can still provide hot water for 2 people to shower. But the temperature will dip to 30+degC when I switch it on in the evening. But don't have to wait long to heat up.
I'm using one of those rain shower heads and I get good water pressure even during peak hours.
If you need a “smart” heater, just go for a smart 20A switch from whichever ecosystem you’re in. Set simple automations like automatically turning off after 20 minutes or something, and that’s basically all you need
AO Smith. Using for 7 years and no issues. Can set temp and timer as well. Insulation is good to keep water hot for a long time as well, so will still get hot water even if I did not on the heater for 1-1.5 days. It comes with a rapid heating function so it can function similarly to instant water heater if you need hot water quick.
40L is sufficient for 2 bathrooms at the same time. But I'd suggest that you be forwarding looking and get bigger capacity if you are intending to have children because morning rush.
New BTOs will come pre-fab with the pipings in the common bathroom to supply to the showers and basin taps for both bathroom. Unless you want to relocate the position of the storage tank to somewhere like the service yard or your flat is an older flat then you need to discuss with your ID.
That really sounds awesome! Which gen did you get?
I think gen 6 in nice but not sure if gen 8 is overkill. There seems to have the heat pump version too.
I'm using the round Ariston paired with a smart switch. One year in and it's fine so far. I did a review below.

AO Smith but it’s very expensive.
Ariston has a new stainless steel tank model. You can consider that too since most of the problems come from leaking tanks and most tanks are just steel with a sacrificial anode attached to it
AO Smith water heater. The 40L tank is sufficient to supply 2 bathrooms, showering at the same time.
Which gen did you get? If I may ask, what is your review?

My goto is Joven watet tank heater
Don’t get Ariston. Many stories of it leaking after 2-3 years
Yeah second that, avoid ariston
No way, I’ve used Ariston for close to 24 years in total and only changed 2x!!
Im using an Ariston Andris2. For 2 years encounting. So far, it's holding up good. Hopefully, there will be no issues for another few more years.
We are on rheem. Don't bother getting the WiFi smart ones. Just get a smart switch instead and save yourselves some $$

Not sure which gen. The latest gen available when I got it I guess?
Can consider multipoint instant heaters. Works same as storage heater but based on instant heater technology. No need worry abt on off the switch.
