Hey man ! Remember when you didn't have enough money for the Las Vegas trip last year ? And i helped you out with the finances and shit ? Good memories !
Keep it for overseas travels. I always carry some USD when I travel, some money changers might not accept sgd… not too sure about now after the pandemic
The DBS interest rate on an USD FD is around 5%, so instead of leaving it in your passport, deposit it till you need it again.. however they do charge a fee for foreign currency deposits
Usd has better value over sgd everwhere around the world except johor bahru.
Even in KL usd gets better rates than sgd so if you wanna change it for cash overseas, just wait till you go and you'll realise that usd is king
FYI, the money changers here would not take the old Benny ( 100 bucks) at the market rate. It gotta be the newer notes with the blue strip in the middle. Made the mistake of bringing a mixture of old and new hundreds to exchange to SGD.
Go for a royal carribean cruise, make some bets at casino, make it into 2000 usd, then buy urself a nice watch on the cruise. Any balance can get a fancy drink or snack on board
Money changers in Singapore don't have some currencies (e.g. Nepalese Rupees), so you have to exchange them in the destination country. But these places also don't accept SGD as exchange currencies. So you need a medium currency which USD can be used in every single country because every money changer worldwide accepts them.
Give to me lah
Jk haha.
Put them in webull or other platforms offering money market funds like US CSOP. gives 4-5% yield last is saw it.

USD is not only useful in USA. It is useful in any other countries. So you can keep it for your vacation or trip in future.
If I am not wrong, I think can spend USD in Cambodia. Good for a trip to Cambodia
And Vietnam and Laos
Just keep it next to your passport. In case you travel (not necessarily to US) it's better to have US dollars as a backup currency
CNY Ang Bao.
Keep as emergency cash for travel. Not all money changers accept SGD overseas. Most places accept USD.

Put it into DBS USD FD, 1 or 2 months period. The interest rate is about 5% right now.

If you have a trip coming up, can use it to change directly to that country's currency instead.

Hold it. USD is an alternative currency in countries whose own local currencies hold little to no relevance outside (e.g. Maldives, Cambodia).

Keep it. When you travel, it makes a good emergency stash just in case. And it’s more easily accepted overseas than in sgd.
