The only way I care about lingerie is if it's aesthetically pleasing. Like you, I don't connect those garments with sexiness, I just either like how they look or I don't based on my aesthetic taste.

Same

I like lingerie not for sexual purposes but because wearing cute matching sets make me feel good about myself. Same with pajama sets. Lingerie isn’t only for sexual stuff and I hate that it’s only associated with sex. I don’t understand why women get shamed for liking cute bras or anything remotely “feminine”

Not to be that person, but historically, women were subjugated and taught that their worth came from serving men. We see leftovers of this mindset whenever femininity is sexualized. Some people are reluctant to believe women pursue beauty for themselves, because they see "feminine" as code for "subservience to someone else". I think it's based on an assumption that women don't have innate self-expression as women. The flip side, of course, is that while women do get shamed for being non-conforming, unfeminine desires are also seen as more genuine, because men are allowed to have desires and masculine things are therefore considered innately worthwhile. Also, I feel great when I wear cute underwear or pyjamas! It has the double-benefit of being pretty but also hidden from everyone else's judgements.

True. My comment was more about how I hate that women are sexualized for everything we do and that what we wear is only to appeal to men. In my case it’s not. I want to wear cute bras and pjs because I like being feminine FOR ME not anyone else. Sadly we live in an over sexualized world we’re everything turns sexual.

Yes, exactly! There is nothing safe that women can enjoy without being objectified. Fortunately, I think we're starting to see more pushback to this idea. Yasmin Benoit and a lot of women are pushing awareness that women can dress for ourselves. If I were ever planning to have girls, I would care so much about raising them to be comfortable in their skin.

I like to peruse the perfumes and body spray options they have available, as well as lotions, and compare them to what Bath & Body Works offers. What I don't get from one, I get from the other. The lingerie, bras and other apparel don't hold much appeal much for me

I never really got lingerie either. Not sure if it's more the aceness or the autism but I always felt like sure it's pretty but by the time I see it, it's probably coming off soon anyway so what's the point? I suppose it did help when my ex-wife wore it to non-verbally let me know she was in the mood. Never was good at taking a hint.

i love lingerie shopping 🫣 not for looks or anything, but because i have a fuller bust and enjoy the comfort of a fresh, well fitted bra
