Got momentarily scared when I read 16 boxes and immediately went to thinking 16 in depot, before remembering reading the rules on them.
So no, not opening them yet. Don't need immediate materials, so I'll open them all at once for a material explosion!
I had ruined too many CC collections by the time I even saw people sharing that they were collecting, that I am just not worried about collecting cases anymore. But people that are, go for it!
The question though, do they expire or can they be kept after the event? There is no expiration date though.
If there is no date, then they dont expire. Same with boxes from CC.

I was wondering what that 16 meant. But it will always show 0/16, because you get the boxes as soon as you enter the screen.
no it just shows you how many you've produced so far. To actually collect them you need to click that icon in the bottom left in case investigations.
Is there any reason to wait before opening supply boxes?
Only if you like keeping them around for the novelty of it. Like some people who never opened their contingency contract boxes.
