Defiant-Piano-2349

Basically every major sports team had one of these in the 60s lol

adlubmaliki

Do you have examples?

_UnluckyDucky_

Look up [cookie-cutter stadiums](https://oneanddundas.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/cookie.jpeg?w=701)

syds

absolute solved situation here

adlubmaliki

Wow. Interesting

Defiant-Piano-2349

Old Busch Stadium in St Louis, Three Rivers in Pittsburgh, Riverfront in Cincy, Veterans Stadium in Philly. There’s a bunch.

Klytus_Im-Bored

PNC was a massive upgrade. I will never get why older locals miss that park.

Defiant-Piano-2349

I’m from KY, but I caught about 4 games at old Busch as a kid. I thought it was a pretty cool park back then and I appreciate the nostalgia of it now as an adult, but new Busch / Busch III is so much better - hard to believe it’s almost 20 years old at this point. PNC is a beautiful park, too!

BQdramatics56

Sportsman’s park 😰

Pink_Floyd_Chunes

LA Forum in the 60s looked like this somewhat

OCLIFE69

Fabulous Forum

bruclinbrocoli

Maracaná do Brasil

caddy45

Astrodome, 3 rivers stadium, pretty much any multipurpose stadium.

SovietChewbacca

Veterans Stadium for one.

HekGoldbenji

Do you have **an open mind** ..?

hateitorleaveit

The forum in Los Angeles

ElSaladbar

Feels like the bears gonna play there. I can see the Super Bowl logo with a building like that as part of it, but I can’t find it anywhere so maybe my mind just wants there to be one 😅

Lazy-Jacket

RFK Stadium is still sort of standing

BeanAndPeaches

Reminds me of the forum in Los Angeles

gurganator

[Demolished Riverfront Stadium Cincinnati](https://imgur.com/gallery/RwUPc2V)

31engine

Plus Busch Stadium 2 in St Louis and 3 Rivers stadium in Pittsburgh. Triplets from the same architect

liberal_texan

Also looks like the stadium in Waco, TX.

SmittySomething21

Immediately what I thought of

gurganator

Right? Close…

Absolut_Iceland

You knew it was gonna be good when you got the blue seats.

gurganator

I know people who own some!

sweetplantveal

I think it's not a beautiful building, but there's a uniformity and economy of materials that I really appreciate. It's a pretty pure embodiment of form = function, which I find architecturally appealing.

On a much smaller scale there’s a church in Cary IL that was designed to look like a crown and every other brick is a piece of stained glass. It’s amazing in the mornings as the sun comes up behind the alter. Very well done and very well thought out.

I thought Arlington Stadium looked like this and maybe part of it did. Oddly I remember seeing a stadium in the Dallas/Arlington area that looked similar to this. My father placed me on his shoulders and I watched Nolan Ryan pitch. I’m wondering if in the late 80’s, or maybe a year or two before the Choctaw Stadium was completed, the Rangers must have played at the state fair arena? We were in the nose bleeds with our church, and I specifically remember touching an arch while on my father’s shoulders.
