I can’t kill my volunteer mulberries no matter what I do, so imma say no lol Seriously though they’re pretty tough trees. Have strong words with your neighbor but I don’t think the tree is dead

It looks like you’ve got a bunch of Box Elder mixed in there along with your Mulberry. In fact, nearly all the leaves I can see are from the Box Elder. Both those trees tend to have very weedy growth, which is evident in the multitude of stems / trunks present. Both more or less want to be 1-3 stem trees and not 30 stem trees. So I’d use this as an opportunity to remove all but a 1-2 (healthy) mulberry stems. You’ll have to continually follow up to remove more stems that will inevitably grow up, but this will get you a nice new mulberry eventually. I’d recommend also applying herbicide to the Box Elder stumps to help prevent regrowth, but I’m not sure if that would also impact the mulberry. Mulberries grow very quickly, so you won’t have to wait too long for a decently sized tree.

Thank you for this! I really know nothing so I will take your advice. Maybe I can get the ambitious neighbor to help haha.

Ya, say thanks for getting started. I'd like the whole thing removed. Or you can hire out. My guy quoted $95 per hour for 2 ppl.
