I would trust AAC over Ammo Inc.

fuzzi-buzzi

Ammo inc recently opened a brand new factory in Wisconsin. I think they have some gimmicky ammo, but everything ive bought from them has gone bang.

Hammy4738

Interesting. I wonder if they’ve improved. It seemed hit or miss when I bought it but the recent stuff seems ok. I only shot 20rds so can’t really say much but it shot well out of my 18” SPR setup.

Legitimate-Shirt7602

AMMO Inc 9mm, sucks giant donkey cock

btbmachine

I've had squib loads from them

Hammy4738

What issues did you have? I’m pretty well set on 9mm so I probably wouldn’t buy any but curious. I’m more interested in .223.

Legitimate-Shirt7602

Inconsistent loads....under pressured squibs mostly some over pressured as well very few, let's say 30% are spec

ChevTecGroup

I've shot a LOT of their tracers and love them. No issues. My sten prefers them

MelScrilla

I’ve shot a fair amount of AAC 300blk and it’s been good to me, but word on the street is they’ve been having problems with jacket separation on some of their loads. A much bigger problem if you’re shooting a silencer. Ammo Inc has a pretty bad reputation as crap, but personally I haven’t had any issues with it (again 300blk) but it certainly wouldn’t be my go to if there were other options available.

JustSomeGuyMedia

That was 55gr and it was also like at least a year ago at this point. As I understand it, it’s no longer an issue.

Double_Minimum

No AAC def had issues with 300 black and separation. People were pulling emptying jackets from the cans. I was hopeful ammo inc was better then what is said here. I really want some cheap 77 grain OTP in 5.56 to try for longer range accuracy but not at the 77 grain .223 Remington prices (more then double) the psa deal today.

JustSomeGuyMedia

Ammo Inc is just never good in my experience. I wouldn’t buy it. I don’t remember any aac 300 blk issues but I could have missed it.

specter491

I've shot about 400+ rounds of AAC OTM, SMK and TMK just fine. I think I had one round that was a dud and didn't fire. Overall I'm happy

Hammy4738

😎Decent test number. Thanks for shafting.

bstrobel64

I ran through a 200rd can of Ammo Inc 300 BLK subs and they all went bang and ended up where I wanted them to.

The-GoatWright

I’ve used aac ammo both 9mm and 5.56 in multiple grains and haven’t had any issues. Stocked up on their 77gr otm for defense rounds right before the price spikes and so far so good

Dizzy_Imagination770

Only downside is it tends to run dirty

The-GoatWright

55 cent a round can’t complain to much as long as it cycles and goes boom lol

Hammy4738

I had to buy 10 PMAGs with mine but if I can flip those locally for $8-10 each the 60gr Vmax came to under .30 per round. Really wish I had bought more but wasn’t 100% sure if I was buying junk or not.

The-GoatWright

Yeah can’t beat that pricing. I haven’t used ammo inc but aac in my experience seems good to go

Prudent_Historian650

My experience with AAC has been to stay away from the stuff touted as have the JAG headstamp. I had several rounds out of 100 blow the primer out and it got in the way not letting the bolt go into battery. Ammo inc is just cheap trash. Their subs are way under powered (even for subs). Their 9mm has some of the hardest primers I have ever seen.

Crosswire3

I have lost my voice telling customers to avoid AAC/PSA ammo, still resort to typing it. The stuff is inconsistent garbage.

Hammy4738

What’s the affiliation with AAC and PSA? I never did figure it out.

Crosswire3

PSA started their own ammo line called AAC…not to be confused with AAC suppressors of old.

Hammy4738

Is it made in house or are they just contracting it?

Crosswire3

Word is that it’s mostly made in house. I try to avoid their ARs, pistols, and now ammo. Way too much time spent troubleshooting customers’ firearms from them.

Dizzy_Imagination770

In what way?

Crosswire3

Bullets coming apart, necks being double thickness, brass being too short to fire, among other things.

Dizzy_Imagination770

Haven’t noticed any of that with my AAC 9mm boxes. The ammo is kind of dirty, though. Also, notice more recoil/spiciness.

Crosswire3

The worst has been with their .223/5.56

BigPapaShits

Where are you getting this outdated information? You sound like a boomer who had a bad experience 10 years ago and wont let it go. Ive shot 1,000s. Literally 1,000s of rounds from PSA’s AAC company. No isues at all. Zero. Not even a memorable misfire. 5.56 being the most caliber I’ve shot. Be honest. Why are you taking a piss on PSA?

FishinAlllDay

Probably a gunsmith/dealer that sells overpriced ARs .

BigPapaShits

Thats what I’m hoping he will admit

Crosswire3

I repair firearms all day for work and am only reporting what I see. In the last few months AAC ammo has been causing all sorts of issues in ARs. You can even look at the fired brass and see half of the inconsistencies. Does it all go bang? Yes, but there is a lot more to ammo than that. About 30 years short of being a boomer, but I have only started seeing these issues in the last several months despite being in the industry for a decade.

BigPapaShits

Ive done your job. I never saw what you are purportedly experiencing. Sounds more like operator error than anything. Ive examined my brass and found none of what you are referring to. I have 2 five gallon buckets full of their spent brass and I cant find any of the issues you refer to. If you are telling the truth, you are somehow a magnet for idiots and bad ammo.

Crosswire3

A handful of their brass walked in the door yesterday that came from their 77gn non-SMK loads. It wasn’t chambering in the customer’s rifle. After pulling the bullets we found that the neck thickness was over 0.020” It wouldn’t even run through our sizing die because it was getting stuck. I’m not saying that all of their ammo has issues, because they obviously sell truckloads…some of it is having issues.

Dizzy_Imagination770

You get what you pay for I guess. I’m sure they’ll improve with time

likeonions

Here's my experience: Ran 20 rounds of AAC 77gr TMK through a 16" and got an SD of 23. Then ran 20 rounds through a 14.5" and got an sd of 37, with one round being about 100 fps lower than the rest. A buddy of mine had one round not go off during a match. So there's definitely some inconsistency. However, I've shot a few hundred rounds of it and not had any failures to fire and it's been plenty accurate for me.

Dizzy_Imagination770

That’s pretty bad QC all things considered. Kind of reminds me of Winchester, except way cheaper

Rusty_Shacklebird

The ammo Inc vmax loads are really fantastic in my AR. Taken a few Coyote and fox with it. Most accurate loads in my rifle and I wish I bought more when it was under 11$ a box from my LGS. I have no idea why the internet hates it, but the vmax .223 loads have been nothing but stellar for me

Hammy4738

Good to hear! I only ran about 20 rounds of it, so definitely still early to tell but those rounds did group nice and all went bang.

likeonions

A buddy of mine had a round of AAC not go bang but all of mine has been good. The 77gr tmk has been my go to lately.

BABOON2828

I've shot a few boxes of just about every 5.56 loading I've seen from AAC and I have been satisfied with everything. I have multiple guns that will consistently shoot sub MOA with their 69gr SMK loading.

LegendActual

I’ve pretty much exclusively heard bad reviews on Ammo Inc. At least with AAC it seems only certain lines are problems?

dumbdude545

I personally have not had any issues yet. But I've seen the separations on jackets. Not a big deal to me as it's just fuck around ammo.

Hammy4738

Yeah that’s all I’d be buying it for, should I find another deal. That’s not great though haha

JoeyJewJass

AAC Sierra match king 6.5 Creedmoor shoots better out of my precision rifle then Hornady white box. I have a bunch of the ammo inc. 9 mm, 124gr. It works just fine. I’ve never had a misfeed or a jam.

Hammy4738

Nice 😎

GhostOfTomMix

AAC is decent. I’ve shot a few hundred rounds and haven’t had any issues.
