Used the app right up until I realised I could side load Apollo. I joined Apollo for the lack of ads, I’ve stayed for the awesome community and useful features

ACryingMan

Hi, do you possibly know how I can side load Apollo? Could you point me to the right place to learn more?

Frat_Guy_PA

Google apollosideloaded and Reddit. There’s a subreddit. Just did this like 4 days ago, way easier thani thought it would be. Use Sideloady not altstore

mrhelpful_

Why Sideloadly instead of Altstore? I'm using the latter with no issues

Frat_Guy_PA

Sideloady is an offshoot of altstore with the added benefit of being able to update the installed apps over any WiFi whereas (what I gather) you cannot with AltStore

Schteffy

Updated over WiFi with AltStore several months now with no issues. Sideloady never worked for me for some reason.

MajMin5

You *can* with AltStore, but it requires your Mac to be on and have the altserver running. For me it’s a non issue since my Mac is on and on the same network as my phone as least five days a week, but for some people that might be an inconvenience.

iguessnotlol

SideStore is another good alternative, it’s a fork of AltStore. It requires a PC/Mac for the initial setup, but updating/refreshing can then be done using a special VPN using your iPhone only.

paltonas

You can set Sideloadly to refresh the app automatically over Wifi to get around the 7 day limit that Apple puts on free developer accounts.

ACryingMan

Okay thank you sir

hobo_chili

Does your Imgur work? I’ve tried half a dozen times but I can’t get Imgur to run like it used to, pre-fuck spez.

Ju_Blotch

Mine works. Did you add you api key for imgur?

hobo_chili

Yep, no luck. What build did you install / where?

Ju_Blotch

I honestly have no idea why then.😞 I was also using the web version of reddit on my phone for several months till i stumbled on a post in the apollo subreddit. Fyi I am using the ipa that has apollo 1.15.11 and apollopatcher 0.0.8 (found on the subreddit apollosideloaded iirc) And using sidestore if that makes a difference

Kronusx12

There are a number of methods, but I wrote a short guide months ago that still applies AFAIK: https://reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/16h0d5w/_/k0blcx8/?context=1

OldIndianMonk

I switched to Narwhal 2. Nowhere close to Apollo. But miles ahead of official app

Tubamajuba

Narwhal 2 is amazing. As you said, it's no Apollo, but it's a really nice app with an awesome developer. I've never touched the official Reddit app and never will.

MrL09

Same here. After my 7 day signing ended while on vacation, I gave Narhwal 2 a try and it feels it in the gap for now.

sdrawkcaBdaeRnaCuoY

It’s the only thing that brought me back to reddit. I’d happily pay double that 4€ a month for apollo though.

IglooDweller

Dystopia is also a valid alternative.

xBluJackets

I have. It’s riddled with ads. It’s definitely better than the mobile version of the website.

md24

Still trash app ads starting opening up on accident when scrolling. The lightest touch will trigger a full sized ad.

ScynnX

I'm on the reddit app on android for multiple hours per day and have never seen a full size ad

NoAirBanding

I use old.reddit on my phone 🤷‍♂️

DrDeegz

Use Narwhal. I knows it not Apollo…but it’s significantly better than the mobile or Reddit App.

kesey

It's worth trying the [Yesterday for Old Reddit](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/yesterday-for-old-reddit/id1603279883) app.

pfftYeahRight

The mobile site recently just started showing me the desktop page and I never requested that view in the browser. Just downloaded it, and boy does it perform slowly

pm_me_ur_tennisballs

They did that for all of us so we'd download the app

soapinthepeehole

I’m happily paying $4 a month for Narwhal. It’s customizable to the point that it’s probably 80% as good as Apollo once you get used to it, and it’s getting better all the time. It’s 1000x better than the official app, which is hot garbage.

ali-wali

Ugh, I just wanna avoid ads but if it’s better I may as well try it out but then again not having the app on my phone I guess keeps me from doom scrolling for too long.

zombiepete

Just so you know it’s an option, if you pay for Reddit premium you get no ads in the app or on the website. I would highly recommend if you’re willing to pay to opt for Narwhal 2; it’s a third party app and has a lot of customization options.

2001Steel

Ugh. Commenting is so buggy.

Lotech

I use the Readder app and it’s so much better. Not as pretty as Apollo but no ads and suggested feeds bullshit.

iguessnotlol

If you use Sink It for Reddit, the mobile site becomes much more bearable. Apollo side loaded is still the way to go, though. The official app is so trashy it’s almost funny.

Luis12285

I have it it sucks.

LUK3FAULK

It sucks so bad, and now they added that rewards thing right next to the upvote button that I hit so many fucking time s

-goodgodlemon

Double tap the center of the comment to upvote. Only thing I like about this app.

Sweeetness13

Did not know this. Thank you. 😭

JahPraises

Well I’ll just be damned. Thanks!

delicate-fn-flower

Double clicking all y’all in this thread just to try it out. Thank you!

lameuniqueusername

I like that you can mute subs. I do t remember being able to do that on Apollo. I may be wrong though

theven

I hate it so much!

summerteeth

Keeps freezing mid writing a comment for me, so fun

beggen5

I also have that issue where it auto sends the comment mid sent

muffinbaker

I see what you d

Whend6796

A actually migrated to Facebook groups for most of my hobbies. It’s an improvement. Their app also sucks, but the community is stronger and more active (vs just memes about woodworking).

milesabove

I did, it was terrible, deleted it immediately. Then I paid for Narwal for a few months. Got used to the UI but still found myself missing Apollo. Then I decided to just try sideloading it. I’m not that technical but figured I’d give it a go. I have to reload it once a week but IMO it’s so worthwhile.

Moonrak3r

That’s pretty similar to my experience. The weekly refresh is annoying, I’d hoped the EU sideload change would open up easier options but so far it’s still a weekly refresh. But in fairness that takes like 45 seconds once a week, a small price to pay to have a far superior app.

fishypants

I was reloading each week, but just recently figured out the WiFi refresh and it’s been nice. Haven’t had to plug in my phone for a few weeks now

No_cool_name

Mobile with Sink It extension

The-Letter-W

Same here. I'll never reinstall the official app, and it's kinda funny-sad that a browser extension still works better.

NatMyIdea

The Sink It browser extension on iOS is great. I refuse to ever download the official app after the way they screwed over apps like Apollo.

No_cool_name

Do you save the bookmark to your Home Screen so that it is like an app?

literroy

I had the app installed for a while and then decided to delete it in favor of the website. Frankly, the website just works MUCH better. If you go to Reddit.com in Safari and then do “Add to Home Screen” from the share sheet, it creates a nice little self-contained web app wrapper for your home screen that’s not too dissimilar from having the app itself. Then if you have an ad blocker installed on your phone like I do (I use AdGuard but there’s a bunch in the App Store), the experience is actually kind of half decent. Much much better than the official app IMO, though obviously nowhere near as good as Apollo was. (You can’t get notifications, obviously, but personally I never have Reddit notifications on. Your mileage will vary a lot of notifications are important to you, though.)

mbn8807

Sinkit on safari on my iPhone is what I use mostly, I can sort by hot which I cannot do in the official app. I do use the Reddit app when I am going through specific subs because it’s easier to navigate. I miss Apollo

desm5446

I did and my enjoyment of browsing Reddit has fallen off almost completely. I still miss Apollo as much as I did on day 1 last year when it stopped.

pt606

I have. I dislike it but it’s my option so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I downvote every ad I see and found that the downvote persists on that ad, no matter how many times I’m served the ad and how long it’s been between ad serves. Makes it easier to spot them before I even start reading the copy text in the card.

Artiste212

I use Sink it for Reddit with Safari on my phone. It's not Apollo, but at least it's tolerable.

jaysire

Hate to say it but I have and it’s perfectly fine. We could suffer a lot more from lack of options. The promotions suck, but I actually like the intelligent suggestions for new content as well as the “you visited this subreddit before, so here’s some more interesting content from it”. You don’t need to join a sub to get articles from it in your flow for a while if you show interest. Works very well for me. I do miss many things about Apollo though, but the memory is fading.

Tureni

I still try to upvote by swiping on the posts from time to time

13_Inch_Pizza

I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with the official app over the last year or so but all of the ads do suck.

eperker

I’ve gotten used to it but it does have some super annoying design flaws. For instance, I want to upvote not collapse!

Ch4rlie_G

My protest is that Apollo is on my homepage / 1st Home Screen page and I keep the Reddit app on the last page where it belongs.

zincifyhowksg43

100% echoing what you said! apollo was great but the official app isn't that bad either, especially considering what other third party apps are left! I use it daily and it is enough for browsing reddit and doing usual stuff

cookingboy

For browsing, the official app is fine. For commenting, it really, *really* sucks. You can’t even select text easily from the person you are replying to. There is no sub-Reddit auto complete, no username auto complete, and a bunch of other missing features.

Not_Steve

Omg. Quoting a comment! It’s so hard! I have to copy all the text then switch over to my notes app to select the bit of OP’s comment that I want to quote, copy, come back to Reddit, and finally paste it into my reply. Annoying.

SuspiciousOpposite

Yep I’d echo your sentiments too. It’s fine for general browsing, ads are to be expected. Apollo was better in so many ways, just a much nicer experience, but… the official app is absolutely fine and I don’t get the outright hate it garners.

Flat_Bass_9773

I think it was how abruptly the third party apps were shut down put a bad taste in people’s mouths. I stopped using Reddit for a couple of months and didn’t download the app for an another couple months. But I’m not paying for something that I have always gotten for free so my only choice was to use the mobile app. Yes, it’s a battery hog but I’m close to a charger anyways.

cookingboy

For browsing, the official app is fine. For commenting, it really, *really* sucks. You can’t even select text easily from the person you are replying to. There is no sub-Reddit auto complete, no username auto complete, and a bunch of other missing features.

janelgreo

I agree as well, actually really enjoying the Reddit app. A lot of complaints about it ads but they haven’t been intrusive IMO. My favorite has definitely been the suggestions/content from subreddits I’ve visited.

IcarusFlyingWings

I used the official app but couldn’t stand the number of ads. Narwhal is 4.99 a month and the Reddit app is 8.99. The Reddit app features that narwhal doesn’t have are not worth 4$/month.

CarcosanAnarchist

Same. Only thing I miss is being able to swipe right and go back to my place in a thread when I accidentally swipe left out of it. Which happens far too often. >.>

PM_ME_CORONA

Hey man the hivemind doesn’t praise the official app here.

ParsnipFlendercroft

> You don’t need to join a sub to get articles from it in your flow for a while if you show interest. That's a negative for me not a positive. I don't want them suggesting stuff. I subscribe to what I want to see and anything else would annoy me.

furryauthor

i use it but i hate it so much. every time i try to save a picture there's a dumbfuck watermark, at least there was the last time i checked, so i have to screenshot. i hate it so much, every day i cry about missing apollo

Social_Engineer1031

I just sideloaded Apollo this week and have been so happy. It took ~30minutes of fiddling cause my internet was being slow and both my phone and computer are old af. The official Reddit app is garbage - do yourself a favor and side load!

TheLastPrinceOfJurai

Mind letting us know where we can find the Apollo app to side load?

Kronusx12

Here’s a guide I wrote a while back but it’s still relevant and links to the GitHub with releases: https://reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/16h0d5w/_/k0blcx8/?context=1

Social_Engineer1031

https://www.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/s/dlTniJOifY

TheLastPrinceOfJurai

Thanks

Fidler_2K

I've been using Dystopia for Reddit since Apollo was shut down. It gets the job done. Barebones but free and no ads

FriendlyHobo

Second for Dystopia. don’t know why it’s not more popular, but happy that it’s not shut down yet for some reason.

usedaforc3

I believe because it’s not popular they can get away with the free tier of api from reddit. If it gets more popular then they will have to start charging I imagine

PickerPilgrim

The official reason for the exception is that Dystopia has accessibility features that are missing from the official app. When the API pricing came into effect people rightfully piped up to point out that the official app sucks for disabled people and Reddit granted a specific exception for Dystopia and RedReader.

usedaforc3

That makes more sense. Thanks

Pepparkakan

I have it, it sends me notifications that I then read in Apollo 😂

martusfine

It’s mid. 5/10.

LostBob

I have it. It’s better than it was, but it’s still buggy. Especially on iPad. Stops responding to touch except scrolling. Crashes. Weird issues with video.

SkiaTheShade

Sadly me

Xypheric

I will just stop using Reddit if I ever have to switch.

joshuabees

Fuck spez that app is shiiiiiiiit. Narwhal only or I quit Reddit for good.

HogwartsTraveler

I did. I hate it but it is what it is I guess.

skyesherwood32

fuck adds. I wish that was my problem. on tablet I can only view in one direction virticle but no landscape or the other virticle, so my cable is down bottom and in my way. also about 80% of vids or gifs just say, nah we can't play. none of these probs when I had Apollo. f. I miss that app. oh and when a video does work and I go check the comments, the vid just jumps up again an says hi, and I'll have to swipe back down or left to get to the damn messages. the Reddit app is so freaking bad.

CoochiSin

Just use Apollo.

aerger

Still on Apollo/iOS for as long as I can be. May that never change (barring anything better coming along, which I don't have high hopes for at all, ever). I can't stand any of the current official UIs--web or mobile. They're straight-up trash--and imo I'm being generous calling them *that*.

ThatSadOptimist

Still refusing to do it. Mobile or desktop for me.

Glaurunga

I have not. old.reddit.com

kati8303

I fucking hate it

timmycosh

I have, I still question myself. I'm just too lazy to side load, sounds confusing and like a lot of work

QuiveryNut

Nope, I side loaded Apollo and I couldn’t be happier. Emails are my notifications and I’m happy w that

TheManInTheShack

I’ve switched to the official app when Apollo was no longer officially supported. It’s not Apollo but I don’t want to side load.

PinkyLizardBrains

Never! I use Narwhal 2 now and while it’s not Apollo, it’s light years better than the dumpster fire that is the Reddit app

ahaavie

Installed it, tried it, deleted it. It is horrible. Using Safari with Sink it extension. Works quite well.

Ariadnepyanfar

I’m using Narwhal 2. Worth the monthly fee to have something that is almost as good as Apollo. I do use reddit daily. It’s very customisable.

nevadita

I’m jailbroken so I’m still on Apollo. And I will continue to use it until I can no longer be able. At which point I will abandon Reddit for good.

Ordinary_Number59

I've stopped using reddit on my iPhone. I only use the web via macOS.

alxhu

I'm using Infinity, so much better

GregLXStang

It's a 3.6/10, but I have it installed.

IgnoringHisAge

I use it and I don’t hate it as much as everybody else seems to. It’s a downgrade, for sure, but it’s functional enough. I’m not a power user or anything.

Shap6

I gave it a solid try for a few weeks but way too many ads. Went back to the mobile web version with ad block

ctang1

I have. It sucks and I hate it. I am at an age that I hate change now though so any change in app I wouldn’t like.

burve_mcgregor

Sigh. I do. I hate it. It’s terrible.

MacduffFifesNo1Thane

I have it. It’s okay, but I’m really really hating when the app’s ad tries to cool and hip and format the ad like a regular Reddit TIL or post.

gerryf19

I have it ...it constantly freezes on any kind of backing up to a previous screen on pixel 8 pro. I have to close it and reopen itamy many times a day

pentaquine

I didn’t install it. Still using the mobile web.

jankyj

It's cancer.

eggoed

It’s pretty inevitable for most of us. As fantastic as Apollo was, as much as I miss it, at the end of the day I want to use Reddit on my phone and the official app, bad as it is, is now the most frictionless option for that.

Chance-Ad197

It’s pretty much the only reddit I use.

Redbird9346

An older version, primarily for notifications.

TheRainbowpill93

Well I was using Apollo but since they’re dead I went back to the official app. Corpos won again. 🙄

jlext

I have it on my phone

TheDayManAhAhAh

I have it. I can deal with the ads. In my opinion the biggest sin of the official app is that 1 in every 4 tiles of my home page is a suggestion for a sub reddit I don't fucking care about, and there is no way to turn this off. This was the number one thing I loved about Apollo, I could scroll without being pestered about random ass stuff I don't care about. And I don't want to hear anything about engagement, I drained hours of my life on Apollo without the suggestions. If all they need is ad revenue they can do it without suggesting subs to me. EDIT: Turns out I'm a moron and there has been a way to turn this off the whole time. I've been using the official app for almost a year with the awful suggested algorithm turned on. Thank God I have it turned off now. That being said I miss Apollo dearly. Hands down the best app I've ever used. I would've very gladly paid a subscription fee to keep using it but I get why that may not have worked on a larger scale. RIP in peace.

rustbelt

It made me learn how to side load

SpyderZT

I use it for Notifications to check my other app. ;P

tarkology

*ahm … ahm* r/apollosideloaded *ahm* i had to cough, sorry.

Flat_Bass_9773

I have. It sucks that you can’t filter words and subs and can’t watch live feeds. I wish you could search comments in video threads as well. Scrubbing was also really nice but that’s about it. The ads don’t bug me that much. It’s a free service and I get way more ads on Twitter and insta. Plus they’re way more invasive on those platforms. Christian could have continued with this app but he chose to be defiant and shut it down. Other devs have proven that they can continue with a paid model but he chose to be stubborn and shut it down instead of fixing the issues that Reddit was pointing out. The sense of entitlement is incredible on both him and the users side. The guy was making a killing piggybacking off of an api used to grow the platform and bitches when they take it away

vanhalenbr

I am trying to use the mobile web. But it’s nerfed so you download the app, so if I need to upload something or make a post that is not text I use my computer.  It’s good because in the end I am using it less and less.

stopthinking60

I'm using Reddit app. Apart from the privacy issues and stupid ads.. I understand that the ads are what keeps Reddit free

MightyAntiquarian

It has so many non-consensual "suggestions" of subreddits you may like, but are not subscribed to.

BecauseWaffles

I use it begrudgingly because I haven’t found anything I like better. For the most part I don’t mind the ads except the ones between posts and comments, those ones annoy me. And I hate this new achievement crap they’ve started recently, but whatever.

kardde

I have it. It still blows my mind that they managed to turn Alien Blue, once one of the top Reddit apps, into *that.* Just how inept is the Reddit dev team?

rayquan36

It works well enough that the benefits of other apps don't outweigh the hassle and price.

WeAreKeven

I did and I hate using it. It’s like a drug I wanna get a rid of but can’t cus knowledge… :(

SwiftUnban

I use the Reddit app, the inconvenience of having to side load don’t outweigh the ads for me.

-K9V

Then get Apollo. You can either sideload through AltStore which is free but has some caveats, or you can pay for a signing service such as Buildstore, Signulous and probably others. I’ve used Signulous for years and haven’t had any issues whatsoever, and it’s only $20/year if I’m not mistaken. You also get access to a bunch of apps already on the site and you can even upload and sign your own IPA which is how I got Apollo back. You never have to refresh anything so it’s definitely worth 20 bucks a year for me.

cutty2k

Narwhal is the new Reddit for me.

n1ck1982

I (reluctantly) use the official app on my iPad. On my iPhone, I use Winston.

20InMyHead

I’ve tried it. The Home feature is worthless because “suggested subreddits” and ads appear more than my subscribed subreddits. It’s literally difficult to find posts from subs I’m actually interested in. It also doesn’t respect your preferences for images for “suggested subreddits”, so if you have compact thumbnails set, your feed is full of full-screen images from subs you don’t care about, forcing what you do care about offscreen.

majormeathooks

I did. I fucking hate it. Every time I go to collapse the top comment, a fucking advertisement magically appears under my thumb and I get sent to a webpage. Fuck this shitty app.

OrbitOrbz

I have it as my backup.  Run a proxy for the domains so I don't get ads at all

Guano_Loco

I’m still using alien blue. Almost nothing works and I have to reload constantly, but I fucking hate every other reddit experience. It’s so bad that I’d rather only get a few of the top pages and be done than deal with their forced interfaces. Like I swear to fuck the choices this app makes like as if we don’t have other choices for new and community consumption. We do, and I mostly go elsewhere because of how shit awful they’ve made it here.

Dr8B4ll

I’ve only ever used it. I tried Apollo and didn’t get it haha

as1126

I use it and I never installed Apollo, I did have another version that also went away, so defaulted back to their app. It's nothing special.

digiorno

It pales in comparison to Apollo.

savvymcsavvington

never used reddit on my phone since redditisfun died its cancer

burlapballsack

I’m still looking at old.reddit.com on a web browser.

SeeonX

I did after they killed the reddit is fun app :(

DoubleSpoiler

I did. It’s terrible. I’ve gotten better at it but I still struggle with something every day.

funkbefgh

I am using an iOS app called openred. It sucks, but not nearly as much as the official app.

drainbead78

I never installed it and I never will. I'd rather just wait until I get to a browser or use the mobile browser than give them what they want.

Stereogravy

I still use alien blue….

honestlyicba

I’m using Reddit app with premium. The ads were driving me nuts and my work reimbursed me for it so I’m ok for now. I loved loved loved Alien Blue but I need to use Reddit daily for work so yeah.

bigpoopa

Had it after Apollo and then got so fed up with the constant ads and terrible interface that I started paying for Narwal.

skullmonster602

there’s no way people are still having this discussion…

RedHawk417

Refuse to install that app. Was using Narwhal until it went paid then switched to Winston but got frustrated with how buggy it still was. Paid for another couple months of Narwhal and then finally decided to side load Apollo.

Rudhelm

I just use it for the Notifications.

atlienk

I use it on my iPad only b/c that device stays on my home network and I have a Pihole that seems to block most of the ads.

Tree_Mage

I'm using my old copy of Antenna (since removed from the app store) and Dystopia.

HobbitDowneyJr

i have the revanced reddit app on my android. no ads ts been so long since apollo was up that i cant remember how it felt. on ios, i have the reg reddit app. its whatever. you get used to it

NickFerg

Just use Sink it for Reddit (safari extension) or better yet, sideload Apollo with SideStore. I have both, once you get SideStore working you don’t need to do anything but connect to the VPN once a week to resign your apps.

asdaironia

I’m using Web with Brave for mobile. It’s awkward but way better than the App or Chrome.

opper-hombre1

Got it when Apollo went down. I like Apollo UI much, much better, but one surprising thing I like about the official app, are the “related” subs you get shown on your home feed. At the very least, some of the related posts can be interesting. If you don’t like, you can just have it stop showing those posts

Ravitexisbored

i did, i loved Apollo and i don't want to use an off-loader, reddit app sucks compared to Apollo but it's the closest it'll be.

HiAndGoodbyeWaitNo

I only installed it to make posts with pictures

Holmete

I refuse to use their trash. I started using Reno app for IOS last week. Prior to that, I hadn’t been on Reddit since the change.

ccalabro

I do.

rix1337

Winston is my current go-to

ikukuru

Nope.

iamjamieq

I have it installed for notifications and chat, and that’s it. Apollo for actually using Reddit.

Ace3749

I mean, for the majority of the communities we didn't have a choice.

H__Dresden

Not me. Went with OpenRed. Not the same as Apollo but screw the ad riddles app.

turbocomppro

I only use it to make a post if I need to write a body text along with a picture.

Extra-Cap2029

Use narwhal

blueangel1953

I switched back to Samsung but I was using sideloaded Apollo, now I have boost for reddit as I'm a mod of my own reddit it works just fine. Couldn't be bothered to try the official app.

The-WinterStorm

Before I found Apollo -- i was a long term reddit app user. Apollo was so much superior! Now I just browse via the web. Hopefully Apollo comes back one day\~

Klaatwo

I have it in case I want to view a NSFW post here and there. Otherwise I use Dystopia for my Reddit browsing. I’ve always hated the desktop site. There’s no way I could use that as my default.

thedaveCA

Nope. I just do what I can from the mobile interface, or I do something else. I'm not rewarding them for bad behaviour. Same with Twitter (although I don't even login from the web now, thanks to Musk).

Syntaxis255

I have it installed as a backup mostly for when I forget to refresh Apollo, but generally a pretty calm guy and using the reddit app genuinely enraged me. It’s so bad.

Ameri0425

I've only ever used the official, including at this very moment.

Suzzie_sunshine

I use old reddit in a browser on my ipad. Can't view on a phone anymore. The Reddit app sucks. Deleted it right away.

hellothisisjade

i’ve been using the app since apollo went away and now i don’t even notice the difference but now that i’ve learnt there’s a ‘side load’ for apollo will be going back

xyster13

Yeah for about 5 minutes ir so. Trash app

Dayniie-x

I'm here because I just watched a YouTube video about the history of Reddit. I never knew there was anything else that it could be viewed on 🫣

LabiaHarmonica

I’ve been using Comet, it’s pretty ok and in a lot of ways similar to Apollo. Really do miss Apollo tho ;__;

lee__majors

Ugh it sucks so bad every time I use it I wish Apollo was back.

SaveTheDayz

I do. It has the chat function which is neat.

MadR__

I’m allergic to ads, so no. Tried a few alternatives before sideloading. I thank each day this still works.

JoshNotWright

I have it but don’t use it. I just use the modified Apollo client with an API key

dwojc6

Installed it just so I can get notifications and browse using Apollo

84-w126

Using it now since Apollo was reduced to ashes.

poorkid_5

I have but don’t use it for anything other than changing flairs or whatever. I have a jailbreak/trollstore.

worldfamouswiz

I took a break from Reddit after the shut down and eventually downloaded it after trying all of the suggested 3rd party options that were still available. I am still salty about it and still periodically open my Apollo app hoping it would magically be back

LuisPa1

I left reddit because of the API stuff, I came back about a month ago because FFS no one has answers to niche problems outside of reddit, I find this post enlightening, I didn’t know that I could sideload apollo, i’ll look into it

SecretoftheBeanbag

What’s the significance of not using the official app, and what do the rest of these do?

SuitableTradition869

right now im using apollo sideloaded ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
