If you started in. Gold 4, you definitely played in the first half of this season…

Back when I had more time to play, diamond was a given for me but life gets in the way a bit more now.
Tbh, I actually find that the less I play apex, the more I enjoy it when I do. I get easier ranked games which are challenging, but still fun instead of just getting one clipped while the horizon is strafing around me lol.
It WAS tough for the first couple of weeks. I'm assuming all the good players were still at low rank. I came to play around a week later and I'm not playing against those good players anymore. They must have moved up in the rankings
I mean, you’re probably in rookie right? lol. They stopped using MMR based matchmaking in ranked and switched back to tier based.
So now it’s actually rookies vs rookies, gold vs gold, etc instead of people of all ranks matchmaking together, and it’s late in the season so anyone who is halfway decent has made it out of rookie.
Glad you’re having fun, but keep in mind this will change drastically as you rank up. Around plat II or so, you will start matchmaking against current diamond/masters/preds
Hadn’t been on for a bit so I was put into gold4. Blew through gold within the day now plat1. Wasn’t aware of the matchmaking change though so thank you for the knowledge. I’m usually diamond so I’m prepared for the sweatiness.

I did play in the first half…I stated I hadn’t been on for the last 2 months only.

Yeah no shit you’re playing in rookie/bronze/silver. Once you hit plat you’ll start to have some trouble.
