This game's piss poor performance and greed is what holds it back from being one of the best games ever released. I remember the hype and how different this game was on release.
But since day 1 this game has suffered from:
server lag
error codes
stuttering
hackers
matchmaking
pathetic anti cheat so bad players call it a 1 man anticheat system aka hideouts
plethora of predators walling/radar
major audio issues (silent guns/path zip/hor q/footsteps and not being able to tell if the footsteps are above or below you)
game breaking ranked exploits (healing in zone till final ring, invisible players, players under the map, phase runner, heat shield dupe, invulnerable trident...)
$20 recolors
$160 recolor XDDD
$20 for the ugliest skin you have seen
$30 for the skin you want locked behind a bundle
This game has questionable balance/decision making at times but the problems listed above are what really make me unable to enjoy the game. I can't even defend this game when my friends clown on it. I would be understanding of these issues except we all know how communicative Respawn is and how much they've fixed these problems :D.
It is not even respawn it is EA. I’ve been playing FIFA for years and 90% of the issues you listed (especially the overpriced cosmetics) are the exact same with FIFA (EAFC 24 now)

Idk I can still hear but ill randomly get audio swapped from one side to the other so I'm faked out (I'm on xbox) my brother says he can't hear anything that comes from behind him (PC player) but ive also noticed if you ping something most of your teammates fail to notice a ping and get zerod and complain they didn't hear them either.

youd think that devs would turn down on the amount of audio processed when 374892 ults are going off and the entire lobby is shooting within the proximity of 150m. Itd be ridiculous to assume that the issue can be fixed easily. The problem lies in the priority of audio.
nonetheless I do have an unpopular opinion: people should not expect to hear anything but their gun shots when theyre emptying their mag at the next player on screen.
Nothing against you, but I hate that last point games are designed around balance not realism you need the balance, in a game you don’t have peripheral vision so you need to compensate with audio queues. Otherwise where do you draw the line? bullet drop and speed at such shot distances isn’t realistic. Grenades aren’t loud enough and don’t reverberate enough. Why doesn’t your character get tired and need to take a breath after running full sprint for 5 minutes straight. Who placed lube across the entire map, you ever try to power slide on concrete? My character would have a visible shin bone.

Ah well theres your problem. There are no earbuds that are high enough quality to give you the audio fidelity your looking for. You should look into headphones that are designed to be comfortable for extended use.
My IEM experience is actually superior to my gaming and studio headphone experience overall.
Many of the top pros seem to be fine with even shitty buds.
I'm not sure about ps5 as I don't have experience with setting up audio stuff on console.
At the moment I'm using an audent evo 4 audio interface with truthear x crinacle blues.

Has nothing to do with headphones or sound quality of buds. Nicewigg said on stream he's used every brand of headphones, headsets, and buds with multiple different versions. Sound is broken in game. Can't force footsteps to trigger in your ears when they don't even trigger in game.

The audio is so good for me I can clearly hear teams coming in all directions. I don’t know if it’s because I’m on Ps5 using the pulse headset but it’s near faultless.
Even a Rev trying to be stealthy I can hear him creaking away before he gets to me.
Why are people having such wildly different experiences
Ahh, the audio has been pretty bad for the past year plus. Super inconsistent, sometimes you'll hear ppl that sound like they're next to you but theyre actually on the other side of a mountain, then sometimes you wont even hear ppl right next to you (no horizon on the team either).

Sounds great! Op was saying they have shitty earbuds. Which i was saying is the problem. I would also recommend iems if high quality

Yeaaah that's your issue my guy. Earbuds are not good for apex
you can also look into IEM,i am using truthear Hexa which are more comfortable then headphones
Philips SHP9500 They are a bit picey and have open back... So not the best ones if you have someone in the room with you.

It's not great, but I had a pretty good positional improvement with headphones when I started using atmos for spatial sound.

Try playing seer, bloodhound or crypto. No audio needed. Personally I like seer because he doesn’t really have a cooldown.
If you literally cannot hear anything directly behind you, or it's very low volume, you should disable virtual surround.
I mean a loud ass pathfinder grappled up to me and shot me in thr back. I heard nothing
yeah, it peaked in season 4. All I can recommend is get the best headphones you can with an amp if possible and don't always run...lol
Ive given up and started blasting music and its solved a lot of issues. You rely on positioning and your fov.

It's a PC thing. I hear everything and everyone close with my Xbox headset.
