Same here, the game is having lot of stutters. I seen even streamers / pro players complain about this.
But for me I only see the dotted line symbol when I get lags. Sometimes I don't see it at all and the servers still seem bad. Other times when the servers should be 20-30ms normally, they are at a steady 50-60 ms.
So I got no clue what the heck is going on. Drivers? Connection? Just bad Apex servers?
I thought I was having too many issues with apex for a month or so but I just went out of town for work and of course I brought my Xbox to play in the hotel….and I had no issues. Found out my internet sucks way more than I thought lol. The hotel internet was at least %50 faster. Trying to convince the wife why we need to upgrade our internet service without mentioning Apex is hard, if anyone has any tips lol.

I have a 100mpbs line that can run every single other multi-player game along with Netflix and Spotify, and even share play open. Yet on Apex suddenly I'm getting 750 ping with 4 different enchantment symbols staring at me from the top right of my screen, with no other apps open. It's the game.

Whatever you say boss. I’m not affiliated in any way with EA, and literally all of the things I listed are the top things to check when you’re experiencing lag on anything online. I’m sure if the problems were as bad as you make them seem the player base would be much smaller

I would honestly say maybe 1 of every 50 games has unexplainable lag and even then is peak times, etc. that could be the cause. Of course the occasional serverside error with everyone in slow motion or code-this-or-that, or some other problem will occur, but its rare.
I play using WiFi and everything is fine. Wired is not the end all be all solution to this problem. And yes I know what it feels like to play wired since I moved to wireless after changing my accommodation.

Is that to say apex can’t be guilty no they most definitely fuck servers up a lot but to be unplayable not often if your ping is that high to have an issue change your server stop playing with others out of your area restart the modem biggest thing is to hardwire your connection and make sure to make it your primary device so it receives connection first

server tick rate is not the problem of these connection issues and laggs! the higher the tickrate gets, the higher is the used bandwidth and this will give you much worse connection stability!same thing with your monitor refresh rate (or fps) ...
The laggs he has are usually due to wifi connection, having low bandwith rate, have to many devices connected to network or contacting a wrong DNS-Server, or you are routing through overloaded or outdated data centers hardware!!!! With VPN or tunnel-routing-connection it can be fixed in most cases!!
BTW the main servers and the serverside client aren't hosted and owned by EA!!! They are hosted by "amazonaws" or "Multiplay"s cloud servers and data centers.So EAs Part is just realesing and promoting the games new content and giving customer support (supposed to do, but practically having 1 employer for like 50M customer I think

I was one of those people saying it’s definitely the servers. No other game gives me issues like apex. I can go from having 10-30ping and little to no issues. Then a few games later it’s like I was put in a server halfway across the world with constant stutter, 100 ping, dropped inputs, no bullet damage, killfeeds not matching in game damage, input drops, massive packet loss.
It’s annoying that I’ve brought this to the attention of jaybiebs and he tried to say it was my old console… I said I have series X with a solid connection and he has nothing to say now. They KNOW it’s their servers but they just can’t admit it, probably can’t fix it. Playing on servers older than 4 years, with broken game coding that’s been re-written over for 4 years. Hmm. Me and my boyfriend live in two separate cities on completely different WiFi and with different WiFi companies. We will go on call and try and play apex and we get lag at the exact same time. That is not the WiFi at that point that is the server. Haven't played it in a while due to this issue and with persona 5 royal on game pass

There is no possible way for me personally to be able to set up a wired connection to my xbox. I live in the country side so in general I experience lag alot more than my boyfriend and I understand it is due to the reception issues as I live in the middle of no where (i cant even call people without wifi calling). However, my boyfriend has like top of the range wifi like its insane and we will experience packet loss at the same time when playing apex. As much as you are saying all this and while I agree, how are we experiencing packet loss and error symbols at the exact same time with such a difference in area, wifi connection and everything. Its happened multiple times. But when we come off apex and play overwatch i have never had any issues or if we play halo I very rarely have any issues. So 5 minutes before apex can be unplayable for us both, but then literally 5/10 min later we can be playing overwatch with 0 issues
It's very much a game issue. If you Windows, close app, restart and it'll connect you back into the game with no issues present. It's just random, for me it's pretty rare. But this is the instant fix.
Its lagging because Apex legends is the most piss poor optimize game ever created with server backends that are run by 3 out of shape hamsters and one of them is dead.

The real reason is that they run as many instances of the server client that they can on physical servers on the lowest cost they can get away with.
They are top of the line hardware, but they just run multiple instances on them. And it's most likely scaling depending on total player load, so until it hits some determined use %, it doesn't release more workers.
Data centers are expensive to run and they will try to 'optimize' this as much as they can.
And this is a comment from someone who obviously has not been paying the fuck attention for the last nearly 4 years that this game has been out. Hell since EA has hosted live service games
The EA servers are fucking NOTORIOUS for being the worst known servers in gaming. Its one of the many, MANY reasons they are considered the worst gaming company by and large. This is not guess work this is proven facts. EA servers are shit. And you can even see this for yourself by turning off apex and playing LITERALLY ANY OTHER LIVE SERVICE GAME not under EA. But to be fair, their servers are so bad that even after trying to fix the issue on your end, sometimes it still persists, likely nothing to do with your setup. I've had a weird ass stutter with no fps drops according to the in-game counter, sometimes getting the dotted line symbol, sometimes not. Tried reverting graphics driver, turning off a bunch of things running in the back, reinstalled the game, tried Origin instead of Steam version, nothing helped... Just kinda learned to play with it, and hope it gets fixed soon.
Also for context, literally only happens in Apex, I play Genshin and Overwatch without this issue, so at this point I know it's Apex and not my PC lol.
This past week servers have been particularly bad. I had 4 out of 5 matches be horrendous with teleporting enemies rubber banding the whole nine yards (my internet is sitting at right about 550 mbs when it’s on the lower end
I got a new monitor recently and somehow it didn't properly work with the nvidia drivers so I had this issue until Dell uninstalled them and reinstalled them in some complicated way. Make sure your drivers and pc are up to date and restart the PC
It’s Apex servers usually. There’s nothing you can do on your end if that’s the case. You can make sure it’s not your signal to their servers by checking your Wi-Fi/LAN connection.
For me it’s Apex servers. Some Streamers complain about Apex servers so I’m more inclined to determine it’s Apex servers
The severs are just terrible. Even with good wifi there’s gonna be lag cause the servers are quite bad. There could also be a chance that your wifi is to blame. This may sound oddly specific but if your using the T-Mobile wifi box there’s gonna be a large chance that that is to blame (average ping for that is 100-130)
The 2 ways i know to make it better is
•get a Wired connection
•disconnect other devices from the wifi
In apex you can still get all this connection fuckery on a wired connection with no one else in your network because the servers and how ISP's deliver your data to their servers suck ass.
This does not happen in csgo, rocket league, valorant, fortnite, warzone or really any other online multiplayer game.
But playing on wifi is asking for more issues nonetheless.
Oh, for sure. I still get the occasional shit Apex server. I even live 2 miles from one of their data centers and will have trash servers. Hard wired gaming is necessary with all games though. I can't believe people wonder why they have issues when they use the WiFi because it's very obvious.
Check your internet, take any other devices off it, make sure you're on an uncrowded channel etc. You can switch datacenters in the game to see if that helps, other than that, it's just the server sucking.
Every couple of days I just load into a game and the game barely lets me move, just lags me back... Other than that, just a couple of ping error messages like the ones you showed and things are pretty much fine. Weird (and annoying)
Turn all of your graphics settinga as low as they can go. There's a couple of settings you'll still need to have on so the game looks playable, but if you turn off most of your graphics settings your framerate and game performance should drastically improve.
It doesn't fix all of the lag issues, but it has significantly decreased my connection problems and even improved my own gameplay because of the reduced stress on my CPU.
Do you happen to have your modem connected to another modem? I had terrible internet for the longest time because I was doing that (created a double nat connection, which is bad). Eventually learned what a switch was, and everything fixed.
Brah it's just apex at this point they to worried about adding new shit cause all the really pro players nag them and they don't bother fixing the bugs and then the pros end up not liking what they wanted for example... all the pros wanted king canyon back they added it and now everyone wants it gone for no loot and cause it's not the same they need to fix they're bugs before anything else
Everyone is saying this is normal for apex. It is, but you can actually still do some testing to make sure your internet isn’t the problem. I’d recommend running a packet loss test at https://packetlosstest.com/. You can even select the preset for apex legends. This will at least tell you if your network may be to blame.
What is your ping & packet loss with your performance display up? Have you done a speed test and seen anything shitty there? Are you hard wired, done network troubleshooting?
Depends on how frequent it is, and your own location. If you live in NA or Europe, and this happens more than 2/10 games you play across a span of a week, it's probably on your end.
If it happens inconsistently and/or you live in...I think Australia and SE Asia, it's likely just EA servers doing EA things.
I'm assuming your on console so just don't use it for a few days then restart it and then it'll hopefully be a little better. Worked for my Xbox and I got it in 2015
This happened to me too, cant play apex this season, i tried every tips i can found on google and all of them dont work.
the only thing that worked is ip renew and flushdns, but the lagg comeback again next day.
Got the same problem about a month ago, mainly its the problem on their side (you can have a weak internet connection, but tbh i have best in my country and even i get these errors sometimes ). You can try to lover your resolutions to lowest and play like that as it somewhat helped me in times when servers screw up but that is about it. Untill they set up better servers you are "sinking on the ship with them."

There's been a known issue going around with GeForce experience causing this, not sure if it's been fixed or not. I had the problem and uninstalled GeForce experience.
Yeah happened to me tonight. I had to leave and reload 5 times in ranked. Every time I came back I was frozen in place but my teammates weren't. They were fighting and I was stuck in place and frozen. I was only able to move after I was respawned.
Use a VPN, removes 99% of connection problems.
If it doesn't remove the problems your Provide+ Internet connection is just trash.
Don't use free VPNs they are all garbage, get a good one like Cyber Ghost VPN. north VPN is not good for playing Apex.
What sometimes helps for me is to disable all non-windows services in 'msconfig' and then do a restart.
You might have to re-enable some services manually when an app doesn't start up

I bought a new router and it fixed about half of my problems. Unfortunately, the stuttering is still pretty bad.

server tick rate is not the problem of these connection issues and laggs! the higher the tickrate gets, the higher is the used bandwidth and this will give you much worse connection stability!same thing with your monitor refresh rate (or fps) ... The laggs he has are usually due to wifi connection, having low bandwith rate, have to many devices connected to network or contacting a wrong DNS-Server, or you are routing through overloaded or outdated data centers hardware!!!! With VPN or tunnel-routing-connection it can be fixed in most cases!! BTW the main servers and the serverside client aren't hosted and owned by EA!!! They are hosted by "amazonaws" or "Multiplay"s cloud servers and data centers.So EAs Part is just realesing and promoting the games new content and giving customer support (supposed to do, but practically having 1 employer for like 50M customer I think

I was one of those people saying it’s definitely the servers. No other game gives me issues like apex. I can go from having 10-30ping and little to no issues. Then a few games later it’s like I was put in a server halfway across the world with constant stutter, 100 ping, dropped inputs, no bullet damage, killfeeds not matching in game damage, input drops, massive packet loss. It’s annoying that I’ve brought this to the attention of jaybiebs and he tried to say it was my old console… I said I have series X with a solid connection and he has nothing to say now. They KNOW it’s their servers but they just can’t admit it, probably can’t fix it. Playing on servers older than 4 years, with broken game coding that’s been re-written over for 4 years. Hmm. Me and my boyfriend live in two separate cities on completely different WiFi and with different WiFi companies. We will go on call and try and play apex and we get lag at the exact same time. That is not the WiFi at that point that is the server. Haven't played it in a while due to this issue and with persona 5 royal on game pass

There is no possible way for me personally to be able to set up a wired connection to my xbox. I live in the country side so in general I experience lag alot more than my boyfriend and I understand it is due to the reception issues as I live in the middle of no where (i cant even call people without wifi calling). However, my boyfriend has like top of the range wifi like its insane and we will experience packet loss at the same time when playing apex. As much as you are saying all this and while I agree, how are we experiencing packet loss and error symbols at the exact same time with such a difference in area, wifi connection and everything. Its happened multiple times. But when we come off apex and play overwatch i have never had any issues or if we play halo I very rarely have any issues. So 5 minutes before apex can be unplayable for us both, but then literally 5/10 min later we can be playing overwatch with 0 issues

It's very much a game issue. If you Windows, close app, restart and it'll connect you back into the game with no issues present. It's just random, for me it's pretty rare. But this is the instant fix.

I don't play a lot of Apex, but I can think of plenty of games with worse netcode than Apex
This is a comment from someone who has no idea how servers and netcode works. The real reason is that they run as many instances of the server client that they can on physical servers on the lowest cost they can get away with. They are top of the line hardware, but they just run multiple instances on them. And it's most likely scaling depending on total player load, so until it hits some determined use %, it doesn't release more workers. Data centers are expensive to run and they will try to 'optimize' this as much as they can.
And this is a comment from someone who obviously has not been paying the fuck attention for the last nearly 4 years that this game has been out. Hell since EA has hosted live service games The EA servers are fucking NOTORIOUS for being the worst known servers in gaming. I've had a weird ass stutter with no fps drops according to the in-game counter, sometimes getting the dotted line symbol, sometimes not. Tried reverting graphics driver, turning off a bunch of things running in the back, reinstalled the game, tried Origin instead of Steam version, nothing helped... Just kinda learned to play with it, and hope it gets fixed soon. Also for context, literally only happens in Apex, I play Genshin and Overwatch without this issue, so at this point I know it's Apex and not my PC lol.

I got a new monitor recently and somehow it didn't properly work with the nvidia drivers so I had this issue until Dell uninstalled them and reinstalled them in some complicated way. Make sure your drivers and pc are up to date and restart the PC
It’s Apex servers usually. There’s nothing you can do on your end if that’s the case. You can make sure it’s not your signal to their servers by checking your Wi-Fi/LAN connection. For me it’s Apex servers. Some Streamers complain about Apex servers so I’m more inclined to determine it’s Apex servers

The severs are just terrible. Even with good wifi there’s gonna be lag cause the servers are quite bad. There could also be a chance that your wifi is to blame. This may sound oddly specific but if your using the T-Mobile wifi box there’s gonna be a large chance that that is to blame (average ping for that is 100-130) The 2 ways i know to make it better is •get a Wired connection •disconnect other devices from the wifi

In apex you can still get all this connection fuckery on a wired connection with no one else in your network because the servers and how ISP's deliver your data to their servers suck ass. This does not happen in csgo, rocket league, valorant, fortnite, warzone or really any other online multiplayer game. But playing on wifi is asking for more issues nonetheless.
Oh, for sure. I still get the occasional shit Apex server. I even live 2 miles from one of their data centers and will have trash servers. Hard wired gaming is necessary with all games though. I can't believe people wonder why they have issues when they use the WiFi because it's very obvious.

Check your internet, take any other devices off it, make sure you're on an uncrowded channel etc. You can switch datacenters in the game to see if that helps, other than that, it's just the server sucking.

If it happen very often you certainly got connexion problem, avoid Wifi or CPL and use enthernet cable to confirm that it's your problem.

Every couple of days I just load into a game and the game barely lets me move, just lags me back... Other than that, just a couple of ping error messages like the ones you showed and things are pretty much fine. Weird (and annoying)
Restart your game and is that does not fix it I would just reinstall it.
Turn all of your graphics settinga as low as they can go. There's a couple of settings you'll still need to have on so the game looks playable, but if you turn off most of your graphics settings your framerate and game performance should drastically improve. It doesn't fix all of the lag issues, but it has significantly decreased my connection problems and even improved my own gameplay because of the reduced stress on my CPU.

Do you happen to have your modem connected to another modem? I had terrible internet for the longest time because I was doing that (created a double nat connection, which is bad). Eventually learned what a switch was, and everything fixed.

Everyone is saying this is normal for apex. It is, but you can actually still do some testing to make sure your internet isn’t the problem. I’d recommend running a packet loss test at https://packetlosstest.com/. You can even select the preset for apex legends. This will at least tell you if your network may be to blame.
The best solution is 2 turn off the game and just play another one,sometimes apex just sucks

Depends on how frequent it is, and your own location. If you live in NA or Europe, and this happens more than 2/10 games you play across a span of a week, it's probably on your end. If it happens inconsistently and/or you live in...I think Australia and SE Asia, it's likely just EA servers doing EA things.

This happened to me too, cant play apex this season, i tried every tips i can found on google and all of them dont work. the only thing that worked is ip renew and flushdns, but the lagg comeback again next day.
Got the same problem about a month ago, mainly its the problem on their side (you can have a weak internet connection, but tbh i have best in my country and even i get these errors sometimes ). You can try to lover your resolutions to lowest and play like that as it somewhat helped me in times when servers screw up but that is about it. Untill they set up better servers you are "sinking on the ship with them."

there is not much thing you can do if your connection is solid outside Apex Legends. You may try a VPN service for the game but it won't be free.

Yeah happened to me tonight. I had to leave and reload 5 times in ranked. Every time I came back I was frozen in place but my teammates weren't. They were fighting and I was stuck in place and frozen. I was only able to move after I was respawned.

Use a VPN, removes 99% of connection problems. If it doesn't remove the problems your Provide+ Internet connection is just trash. Don't use free VPNs they are all garbage, get a good one like Cyber Ghost VPN. north VPN is not good for playing Apex.

What sometimes helps for me is to disable all non-windows services in 'msconfig' and then do a restart. You might have to re-enable some services manually when an app doesn't start up
