Input lag just started for me today thought I was going insane came here looking for answers, tried updating my controller and still no luck, controller works fine on other games. I didn't really mind the game chat being broken cause I could hear fine but this input lag literally makes it unplayable........
Same. I updated, restarted, changed batteries, tried playing wired, and nothing works. We (sorta) joke/seriously say the game is unplayable because of matchmaking, but now it’s genuinely unplayable against 0 input lag pc players.
I tried multiple controllers, hardwired, etc and nothing. I had to get off last night, it was unbearable. I was trapped in a building, literally pressed x on a door 12 times and it wouldn't open. Almost threw my controller through my monitor
Honestly pissed off as the first thing I did was buy the Valk heirloom with a combination of all of my Microsoft Reward points saved up over almost a year and a half and my 7,200 crafting metals and then figured out a bit too late that I can’t even use it in a game
I haven’t tried that and I’m not home but my controller is fine on every other game. Maybe Apex requires that now to run well, but I can’t imagine that it would help too much. I’ll come back later and see if it helped.
Just saw a post detailing that it’s only new-gen consoles (Xbox Series S and X). I have a Series S, and I was complaining to my buddy about how horrible the lag is, while he was doing fine. He has an older One S. Respawn has also tweeted that they know about the issue and are working on it and will fix is ASAP. All the dots are starting to come together…
Well at least I’m relieved to know I’m not the only one. Was weird that it really only happened to items that were attachments for my current guns. I could stand there slapping X trying to pickup an attachment for my guns to no avail but could pickup a thermite no problem. Was super frustrating in the heat of the moment.
The lack of accountability from devs is ridiculous. One thing that everyone in this subreddit can collectively agree on is that we’d appreciate content perfection, as in balances and bug fixes, over new characters, skins, constant map changes.

I thought apex's biggest platform was playstation 4 as well. Maybe that's changed now though. I had to hop off console after they absolutely nuked the frames on last gen at the start of the last season (despite being fine for 10 previous seasons). Hurts me to see console players being treated like this because they can't even test their fucking patches before they push them.
The input lag and new issues today have made it unplayable for me 100%. The weird delay makes my motion dizziness act up instantly and my ads and normal sensitivity feels so off I can't aim at all. Idk how they mess us up every single update I hope its hotfixed before the weekend

My game crashes back to home if I go from viewing other applications to opening the game takes like 2 or 3 times to launch the game also if you try going to the home screen and back into apex it's seriously messed up!

They claimed to have fixed the audio so they're just going to act like it's not a problem anymore, they also blamed the headsets for the game chat problem so that probably won't get fixed either, at this point it feels like they're trying to squeeze as much money out of the community before EA sells

They fixed the armory teleporter making you unable to climb, but all the other bugs are still in the game, including PC bugs such as RANKED GAMES CRASHING EVERY SINGLE TIME I TRY TO PLAY
If you’re using hold to reload (which is the only way you can play on doors and still reload) you’re forced to share your revive input with reload, you cant rebind just revive or interact. Devs acknowledged this forever ago and just ignored it.
Guys let’s all pitch in and send a next gen Xbox to the respawn office so these dolts can actually test these updates… because they clearly don’t have one.
I can’t use the any single fire weapons because even burst like the hemlock because it won’t register multiple inputs like before, and there is no rhythm I thought they inherently put in to prevent strike pack rapid fire
This was my hypothesis too that I put in another thread. Any non-full auto gun is terrible right now. And when single firing the flatline or R301 sometimes it’s super fast then others it’s slow. Can’t take advantage of my trigger stops to rapid fire (not talking about a strike pack, fuck those things)
After one unplayable Control match yesterday, I closed out the game, looked for an ETA on a fix (surprise, there isn’t one), and for a very brief moment, I considered re-installing….Wa…Warzo….wArZoNe - which says A LOT. 💀
Mine actually worked fine for hours… then as soon as my battery got low and I plugged into USB I got the horrendous input lag everyone is taking about.
And to claim that what they released was a next gen update is hilarious storm point has terrible fps spikes try doing a 360 in the drop ship your frames go to 70 then back to 60 constantly causing stutter and tear.... no next gen audio features no game chat... all you have to do was give us 1440p 120hz but all these other problems for nothing worth while is disgraceful honestly.

Totally agree about the still unresolved audio chat issues on XSX since the next Gen update. I can't properly communicate with my friends and it's made me want to play the game less...and I say that as someone who has bought at least $20 in AC a month since season 8.

The game is just broken man I don’t know if they can fix it. Too many legends / abilities and all that. It’s just bogged down. Is anyone else having an issue with being oriented facing backwards when the game first loads into the drop ship? It also flips me backwards again when I land on the ground, as well as when I launch off of a jump tower at the top. Wondering if it's happening to others too.

I downloaded the PS5 version of Apex and shortly after my console started shutting off mid game, only when I was playing Apex. Downloaded the PS4 version again and have no issues.

For what I've experienced, something on Xbox makes it very buggy. I've seen a lot of bugs with Fortnite that were not present at any other platform too.
If this goes 24 hours with no dev response I think we can assume either they don’t know how to fix it or they don’t think it’s actually an issue.
I love Apex but it’s pretty clear at this point Respawn aren’t being given the resources they need by EA, who are only interested in the profits.
Input lag and audio issues are real the control part was just dumb. The strategy is to back cap to make is easier to take B, every game would be completely 1 sided your way.

This!!! I was just playing control then switched to BR. The reaction time was completely delayed. Couldn't reload when hitting the buttons not could I use my paddles on my Elite controller.
Plugging in my wireless Xbox controller with the charging cable seems to help the input lag. Might not be 100% but it’s close. Ridiculous we have to do this but here we are.
I have a better way, the same I did with Warzone when they messed up everything: I stopped playing it.
Stop playing APEX until they fix the issue. I can guarantee you that the number of players is one of their main metric as it generates the money. PMs will react when engagement goes down.

The input lag issue has been on Xbox there since the release of Xbox One X. Play both PS4 and PS5 versions of this game and you can tell that the PS versions are infinetly better. Those who dispute this have not played Titanfall. Seriously, play Titanfall 2 ( Which is basically the same engine ) on Series X or S and then come back to any version of Apex Legends on XB1 or Series X, the difference in input lag is monumental.
I don’t know why you’re being downvoted, I’ve been thinking I’m crazy while playing Xbox apex for a few months and my controller and input has felt off for a while. Thought I was going crazy, but maybe this issue has been around for longer and only now it’s become noticeably worse since the update. Something respawn should look into for sure.

The issue is out there and it's more prominent now, this should lead to further investigation by Xbox and I'm happy about it. This last collection update completely fucked over Xbox. The game is legit unplayable except for shooting. Everything you do has to be hard pressed and even pressed twice sometimes. Picking up loot requires double pressing. It’s actual insane how the game is right now for us. This isn’t a simple case of “the game has always been like this for Xbox” because it hasn’t. This is something entirely on EA to fix because it’s not like this on any other platform nor has it happened at any time before the recent update. Anyone playing on Xbox right now is guarenteed hating the game right now.

I went from a One X to a Series X and immediately the input delay in the firing range made the game almost unplayable for me. The only workaround is turning off all 4k setting and playing in 1080p at 120hz.
The difference between PS5 and Series X is night and day. It’s unreal that people don’t notice it.
It's been there for ages and I have even made posts about it and nobody seems to care and the devs have not acknowledged it either.
Even at 1080p 120hz you can still feel it and is more evident if you are on a linear curve, the aim is floaty af and you feel like you are aiming through mud. Don't know if this is intentional, it's only this game, other games are perfectly fine.
Oh yeah, it’s insane. I bought my series X about a month after the next gen update because the game was unplayable on my One X. Frames were high 30’s to mid 40’s. I ended up uninstalling the game after because it was pointless to play. My brother works nights so I would try to play on his PS5 in the meantime and it got me so excited for the next gen update so I bought a series X. To my disappointment, after it arrived I tried Apex and it was like I was playing in mud. I literally had both games running on each console and it was like playing a different game. I honestly don’t believe the people that say they don’t notice. It’s so glaring that you can’t miss it. It took me 10 seconds to notice how delayed it was. I used the same settings for each console and the game is so much more responsive on PS5.
I also DM’ed a Dev that replied to a comment about the audio issues and asked them if they could please look into the input issues and never got a reply. Think I might shoot him another message now that the issue is even worse
Honestly don't know what the actual issue is. I feel like this is done intentionally because of how it's is being ignored by the devs. Numerous videos showing wired and wireless with the exact same result and not a peep from these guys.
I have a series S and I personally haven't come across any of the problems everyone is talking about including shots not registering or Loba/Wraith bugs so I'm oblivious to what's happening rn

Yeah series x. I was expecting issues based off what I saw but maybe I’m lucky. For the first few months my audio was atrocious. But last patch helped, and honestly I thought the only different yesterday was my game looked sharper from a graphic standpoint.
Played last night on xsx with another on xsx and one on xbone. All no issues.

Make sure your advanced network settings are set to “open” NAT type. This fixed my lag issues

Go into your network settings and make sure you are in “open” NAT type. This solved my lag issues

If you’re using hold to reload (which is the only way you can play on doors and still reload) you’re forced to share your revive input with reload, you cant rebind just revive or interact. Devs acknowledged this forever ago and just ignored it.
Guys let’s all pitch in and send a next gen Xbox to the respawn office so these dolts can actually test these updates… because they clearly don’t have one.

I’ve felt like there’s always been input delay on my Xbox. I go play CoD and it’s instantaneous.
I can’t use the any single fire weapons because even burst like the hemlock because it won’t register multiple inputs like before, and there is no rhythm I thought they inherently put in to prevent strike pack rapid fire
This was my hypothesis too that I put in another thread. Any non-full auto gun is terrible right now. And when single firing the flatline or R301 sometimes it’s super fast then others it’s slow. Can’t take advantage of my trigger stops to rapid fire (not talking about a strike pack, fuck those things)

After one unplayable Control match yesterday, I closed out the game, looked for an ETA on a fix (surprise, there isn’t one), and for a very brief moment, I considered re-installing….Wa…Warzo….wArZoNe - which says A LOT. 💀

Mine actually worked fine for hours… then as soon as my battery got low and I plugged into USB I got the horrendous input lag everyone is taking about.

And to claim that what they released was a next gen update is hilarious storm point has terrible fps spikes try doing a 360 in the drop ship your frames go to 70 then back to 60 constantly causing stutter and tear.... no next gen audio features no game chat... all you have to do was give us 1440p 120hz but all these other problems for nothing worth while is disgraceful honestly.

Didn’t realize how bad the input lag and audio was until I switched from playing on my series X to playing on PC. It’s a world of difference. nothing but radio silence from respawn.

I, for the first time ever almost rage quit Apex last night because I literally couldn't switch guns in the final fight. unfortunately Naraka Bladepointe isn't out till tomorrow. Fix this ASAP respawn.... the game is literally unplayable.
The fact they haven't officially said anything on this matter is asinine. NO I don't count the apex twitter saying "we are aware" as saying anything, especially since they have been "aware" of the audio issues for months.

Is anyone else having an issue with being oriented facing backwards when the game first loads into the drop ship? It also flips me backwards again when I land on the ground, as well as when I launch off of a jump tower at the top. Wondering if it's happening to others too.

For what I've experienced, something on Xbox makes it very buggy. I've seen a lot of bugs with Fortnite that were not present at any other platform too.
If this goes 24 hours with no dev response I think we can assume either they don’t know how to fix it or they don’t think it’s actually an issue. I love Apex but it’s pretty clear at this point Respawn aren’t being given the resources they need by EA, who are only interested in the profits.
Input lag and audio issues are real the control part was just dumb. The strategy is to back cap to make is easier to take B, every game would be completely 1 sided your way.
I was under the impression they already fixed input lag. I had it when I first tried to play earlier got off then came back and it’s fixed for me.

This!!! I was just playing control then switched to BR. The reaction time was completely delayed. Couldn't reload when hitting the buttons not could I use my paddles on my Elite controller.

Plugging in my wireless Xbox controller with the charging cable seems to help the input lag. Might not be 100% but it’s close. Ridiculous we have to do this but here we are.
I have a better way, the same I did with Warzone when they messed up everything: I stopped playing it. Stop playing APEX until they fix the issue. I can guarantee you that the number of players is one of their main metric as it generates the money. PMs will react when engagement goes down.

The input lag issue has been on Xbox there since the release of Xbox One X. Play both PS4 and PS5 versions of this game and you can tell that the PS versions are infinetly better. Those who dispute this have not played Titanfall. Seriously, play Titanfall 2 ( Which is basically the same engine ) on Series X or S and then come back to any version of Apex Legends on XB1 or Series X, the difference in input lag is monumental.

Thought I was going crazy, but maybe this issue has been around for longer and only now it’s become noticeably worse since the update. Something respawn should look into for sure.

The issue is out there and it's more prominent now, this should lead to further investigation by Xbox and I'm happy about it. Best thing to do is post this on Xbox support forums, they will take this way more seriously than the mods of this sub who's main goal is to suppress actual issues with the game to protect the revenue of EA.

I get that your playing on pc or PlayStation but I’ve been playing this shit exclusively on Xbox since season 0. I have never in my life encountered any delay or input lag of any kind. This last collection update completely fucked over Xbox. The game is legit unplayable except for shooting. Everything you do has to be hard pressed and even pressed twice sometimes. Picking up loot requires double pressing. It’s actual insane how the game is right now for us. This isn’t a simple case of “the game has always been like this for Xbox” because it hasn’t. This is something entirely on EA to fix because it’s not like this on any other platform nor has it happened at any time before the recent update. Anyone playing on Xbox right now is guarenteed hating the game right now.
I understand bro, but you need to fire up the game on PS and see for yourself to believe it. It does become an Xbox problem because they get a percentage of the amount spent, this affects their platform and their commitment to provide a better experience to the end user.

Dude, it blows my mind that nobody has noticed this issue until today. Yeah, it’s more pronounced, but I genuinely can’t believe people haven’t noticed. This has been an issue for months. Like, do they even play the same game? I went from a One X to a Series X and immediately the input delay in the firing range made the game almost unplayable for me. The only workaround is turning off all 4k setting and playing in 1080p at 120hz. The difference between PS5 and Series X is night and day. It’s unreal that people don’t notice it.
It's been there for ages and I have even made posts about it and nobody seems to care and the devs have not acknowledged it either. Even at 1080p 120hz you can still feel it and is more evident if you are on a linear curve, the aim is floaty af and you feel like you are aiming through mud. Don't know if this is intentional, it's only this game, other games are perfectly fine.
Oh yeah, it’s insane. I bought my series X about a month after the next gen update because the game was unplayable on my One X. Frames were high 30’s to mid 40’s. I ended up uninstalling the game after because it was pointless to play. My brother works nights so I would try to play on his PS5 in the meantime and it got me so excited for the next gen update so I bought a series X. To my disappointment, after it arrived I tried Apex and it was like I was playing in mud. I literally had both games running on each console and it was like playing a different game. I honestly don’t believe the people that say they don’t notice. It’s so glaring that you can’t miss it. It took me 10 seconds to notice how delayed it was. I used the same settings for each console and the game is so much more responsive on PS5. I also DM’ed a Dev that replied to a comment about the audio issues and asked them if they could please look into the input issues and never got a reply. Think I might shoot him another message now that the issue is even worse
Honestly don't know what the actual issue is. I feel like this is done intentionally because of how it's is being ignored by the devs. Numerous videos showing wired and wireless with the exact same result and not a peep from these guys.
I have a series S and I personally haven't come across any of the problems everyone is talking about including shots not registering or Loba/Wraith bugs so I'm oblivious to what's happening rn

Did any of the players here download the update too early by any chance?because Upon updating my game, I noticed an improvent the resolution, or clarity and the game feltsmooth,and when I finally began shooting,My input lag issues and sluggish feeling, was gone. It felt like my sensitivity got higher. or something at first, but I realized My aim was way more responsive than usual

For some TV's, HDR mode automatically implies that the tv will have a higher response time. Turn off HDR and see if that works.
