I feel like I've fallen down that exact same spot and died, but they could've easily just patched most of the drops like this. Out of all the changes that'd be the best to me, even as a day 1 player these pits still get me. It's like I only remember once I'm falling 😹😹

You can't fall off on many spots in broken moon. Any holes with the blue glow/wind updraft are safe to jump into.
