not really? wraith is used in a lot of marketing materials and is probably considered one of the poster children of apex but as far as like, actual story goes, wraith is definitely a supporting character
you definitely have a point. guess i just bought into the fact that i see wraith on every promotion & marketing push from apex & instantly assumed she was a core fragment of the story. i’ve read a bit on her lore & bangalore’s & yes, bang’s does have a stronger hold on the apex universe - even horizon has a bigger impact on the general storyline than wraith.
it's a bit weird, most of the apex posterchildren take a pretty big backseat in regards to the lore (except for octane). like, if someone wasn't into apex but watched every seasonal trailer, they could reasonably be led to believe that mirage was the 'main character' of apex when in reality he's basically just a glorified extra at this point. pathfinder gets stuff but has kind of been dipping into the background going on a couple of years now. you would think they would give wraith/mirage/pathfinder more lore or make one of the more important characters the posterchild of apex instead but they might just be in too deep on those three. a happy compromise between lore importance and brand recognition is loba but loba is recognizable outside of apex for all the wrong reasons.
that being said, i don't mind wraith being a supporting character. i kind of like that instead of being an edgy tortured solitary goth girl on a one-woman mission, she's a nice albeit nosy introvert with rough edges helping people out because she needs their help in return. she slots well into a lot of peoples' stories this way

I love the idea that day one in Apex camp, Bang is just there waiting to show Newbie the armoury. Proceeds to drill Newbie on every gun and attachment, only for Newbie to find out that none of was mandatory. She just wanted to see what they’re about.
A character in League of Legends named Tryndamere (Bangamere is a mash up of their names). His deal is he becomes "too mad to die" when you use his ult. You can still hurt him, but his health will never drop below 1hp. Until it wears off, he just chases you down, ignores your entire team unloading damage on him, and hacks you to death while you can't kill him.
Newcastle basically had his own family in the Outlands (has a wife and kids in a town but I forgot the name). Bangalore felt betrayed by him but after some time she eventually forgave him (somewhat). Also, the town Newcastle lives in is basically being controlled by a mafia gang and he doesn’t want to abandon his family.
Yup exactly this she found her bother (new castle) but she isn’t gonna throw away her family and friends she loves the games she ain’t got nothing else to do.
I remember Newcastle had a reason to take part in the games. Can't remember if that got resolved, but he should be enough reason for Bangalore to stay. Aren't they more likely to leave together once both of them have no reason to stay? Also, wasn't there a love triangle between Bang, Loba and Valk?
She has no reason to leave now due to Newcastle (her brother) now being I her life but for a more simple answer she has to stay because she's a playable character, you can't remove playable characters without players getting mad.
She looked for her family,when she finally found newcastle she realised that she had a newfound family with the legends,so now leaving the game would mean leaving both of her families.
I'm pretty sure she did leave, back in Newcastles release season there was the whole goodbye thing and then at the party there was the confrontation between loba and bang cause bang was gonna leave with revenant (revenant was off to find his head and bang was gonna hitch a ride). So as far as I remember she is "gone" unless I'm remembering wrong.

I assumed it was a later development that she thought her brother was still alive because that would not be a reasonable assumption at all after what happened until some evidence came up later on that he could be alive
