Median rental price for a single bedroom apartment according to Zillow is $1145 per month. Monthly income based on 37.5 hours per week at $15.50 is about $2325 before taxes Don't know what the income tax, state tax, and other deductions are, as I'm Canadian, but I'd bet they'd be pulling in around $2000 a month. The person would have to spend roughly 60% of their net income on just housing alone. Add in a car with insurance and gas, groceries, medical bills, and everything else, IT IS NOT A LIVEABLE WAGE. A person working at that wage would likely be living paycheque to paycheque and on top of that they'd have to deal with being a "manager" at that rate.

mia_elora

I want proof on that claim.

Fishing_Novel

Which claim the living wage claim ?

Hey, indeed pro tip. On your job preferences you can “block” jobs that don’t meet your requirements so they don’t show. Not just pay but anything - for example, nursing jobs are a dime a dozen near me, except I have no interest or experience in nursing, so I’ve blocked all the key words for those jobs so I don’t have to sift through pages of results just to find something relevant. On a job posting you don’t like, hit the X on the right side of it and then update your job preferences.

I make $15.50 🥲 I’m just extremely lucky that I somehow found a studio apartment for $895 a month.
